Fresh brewed coffee was available in the lobby each morning, and we received coupons towards breakfast/lunch as well as a coupons toward a cocktail in the new Preachers Lounge. We are not big gamblers, but the on-site restaurant for lunch and dinner was good. Parking was easy and the shuttle was very convenient for trips into historic Deadwood.

It wasn't down town so we didn't have to deal with the ridiculous parking in down town deadwood hotels. The restaurant was excellent as were the waitresses. The food was more than I could eat and excellent. The casino was clean and fun. free beer and wine if you gamble. So close to deadwood. its own entity. Our 4th tip to Deadwood, found the perfect place. We are booked for a family of 6 in December 2025. can't wait. Love Deadwood

clean room, had a walk out room - stink bugs all over floor by door : couldnt enjoy sitting our porch i paid extra for due to all the bugs/ need to spray. went to hot tub next morning / hot tub full of lies and crickets . jets turned cold not warm/hot breakfast was mediocre/friends breakfast was just warmed bread not toasted like ordered, bloody mary was spicy when i asked for it not to be, very watered down . Hardly checked on throughout our meal TIPS = To Insure Proper Service

We went for my daughter’s fall break, the hotel was full of flies. We went to the pool and there was over 100 dead flies floating. When we complained the girl at the front desk said “welcome to the black hills ya’ll”. If you as a business know this is an issue, instead of making your customers feel bad spend that energy to clean it.

This is an excellent hotel for a short stay or a longer stay while exploring the Black Hills area. Big room, super comfortable bed, very clean and well appointed, and an excellent restaurant. Easy parking. We had a ground floor room which had a back door to the parking area and a view of the valley, which was perfect for our small dog. Excellent service at check in and at the restaurant for breakfast.

The property was absolutely beautiful, and the staff were very attentive and accommodating without being overly intrusive. The only hiccup was when we checked in and she gave us a choice of first or second floor and when we checked out the first floor, the room itself had a door that would let insects in underneath the door jam. She quickly changed us to another room when we asked, and it was wonderful.

Room was dirty and the pool had a slimy white substance covering the bottom of the pool and the equipment in the pool (slides, etc.). The lobby was spotless but the rooms not so much. The bathtub had dirt behind the shower curtain and the towels had holes and other people’s hair on them.

Loved the high ceilings and bright lights! Made the deluxe king room feel even more spacious. The TV swivels and the sofa & chair were comfortable. The only issue we had, was the executive room above us had a herd of buffalo, or hyper children and the noise was very disturbing. Luckily, we only had to get up at 7:30am due to the noise one day. After that, everything was back to quiet and wonderful.

The room was roomy and very clean. The hallways, and common areas also clean and very nice. Only complaint is there is no streaming at all in the rooms. Pay a lot for a room, you expect to have good wi-fi and streaming on the tv. Don't know anyone that wants to watch two minutes of live tv and ten minutes of commercials. They need to upgrade to streaming for the price you pay. Also could hear voices from other rooms and stomping above

Hotel is Close to many attractions and National Park Service parks and monuments. The area and the town of Deadwood, SD are beautiful and there was little traffic to contend with. We really like this entire hotel and what it offers. We stay there while passing through a lot and almost always with our dog. I can't give this hotel a five-star rating on overall or a four-star rating or above for VIP amenities because I always have to beg for my VIP benefits I received from Expedia. I feel terrible asking for an upgrade and for the $15 food credit every time. They act like I'm asking for too much. I don't know if Expedia can fix this or if this is just a staff issue. It has been the same people at the desk for the last several months when we have gone through there and I always seem to have to ask for everything. This time she even said no you do not receive a food credit when in fact I knew I did. How can this be fixed? I still recommend people staying here in Deadwood at the Lodge but I suggest that you be prepared to have to ask for everything. I encourage you to do it and not let them get away with not giving you your benefits.

We used to love staying here, however, this time was completely different. Not sure if it’s an upper management issue or what but we literally could not get into our hotel room all four nights we stayed and had to keep going back down, some nights three times and get new keys. They told us maintenance would come and fix it one day while we were gone and of course we came home and couldn’t get in again. Same happened the next night. When I talked to the front desk, she just talked right over me when I tried to explain my frustration and basically said sorry you’re frustrated but there’s nothing we can do. Then we went into the restaurant and their hostess leaves a lot to be desired. She started yelling at everybody giving us directions LOUDLY before we even got up to the desk. She was loud and obnoxious, and then was going through the restaurant singing out loud to the radio. Extremely rude and very unprofessional. Definitely not a good look for that restaurant. The rest of the staff were good and the food was great. The shuttle to downtown was nice, but the overall vibe was just not the same. Got the impression no one really liked working there.

The staff were not friendly. They didn’t even greet us as we walked by. When asking questions, they acted like they didn’t want to be bothered. The service in the restaurant (dinner) had horrible service, and the food was average to below average. The wind funneled through our patio divider and sounded like a freight train. Additionally, we could hear the shower floor creaking in the room next door (sounded like a crackling fire place). The Trolley service was convenient, but two of the men acted like they hated their jobs.

Very inexpensive room connected to the casino. Sits on top of hill away from downtown so if you want to walk around Deadwood you will have to drive and park. Tatanka is across the street which was developed by Kevin Costner to tell the story of the Bison and Native Americans.

Had good service the first night we stayed and ate at the restaurant. But the following morning for breakfast our service really sucked. Wasnt near as busy as the night before and took us an hour to get our two plates of food.. biscuits and gravy and French toast.. couldve went back and made it myself quicker.. and our waitress almost never came and checked on us. When we paid she apologized to the people that showed up after us for their food taking so long, but didn't say anything to us about it. Other than that really good place to stay

The property as a whole was good. The room was clean and neat. The resort was clean and neat. The restaurant was way over priced for what you got. Would not recommend eating at the resort. When checking out I was charged a "resort fee" and was told this is in the "fine print" when reserving online through a third party vendor such as Expedia. Wish that would have been mentioned upfront vs at the end of the stay. Also, when I reserved through Expedia I was to get a $15 voucher for food for each date I was there and never received that. When I asked about it, I was offered the voucher but was at the end of my stay, which was not useful. I wish they could have waived the resort fee for the food vouchers I never received.

We had a great time at the Deadwood Lodge! The food at the restaurant was OK, it was never bad, but it was never great. The only real problem during our stay was the fire alarm waking us up and then blaring for 10 minutes early one morning.
