Garner Hotel Augusta West by IHG

Room was well-maintained and clean. There were several cockroaches found in the bathroom; however, that is not terribly uncommon in the South. The room contained a large, king-sized bed with adequate pillows and clean sheets. There was a min-fridge, microwave, iron, hair dryer, desk area and reading chair. The lighting was bright and the room smelled fresh. The bathroom shower was well lit, appropriately stocked with plenty of towels and the shower's water pressure and temperature were great. The complimentary breakfast and on-site laundry were great additional amenities. The workout room could use some updated exercise equipment. Hotel staff/personnel were friendly and cordial!

Adequate stay. Hotel is under renovations. Heavy chemical smell. Very limited breakfast, bland eggs and sliced hot dog or spongey “sausage” patties. The elevator on our side of hotel broke after the first night. The rest of our stay my mom, with limited mobility, had a difficult time getting to the car and back.

Not the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in. Pool was closed for some unknown reason. Served it’s purpose, but it’s in desperate need of some updates and some deep cleaning.

The hotel served our needs (safe, clean & friendly staff) for Masters weekend. Because of the demand on hotels for that event, prices were high but expected. The pool is on the highway side of the hotel (noisy from cars/trucks) which is too bad because if it was on the back side, it could’ve been more quiet & enjoyable but we didn’t come for the pool so all good… just a note of expectations for others.

Although construction was going on one elevator didn't work properly.

Customer service was excellent very nice staff There was a $100 deposit when we got there I am a germAphobic so I spray and wiped down everything I give the cleanest a B+ The rooms are decent and comfortable to feeling ok and safe they are going under renovation due to new management I didn’t like the elevator small and old There was a pool and the breakfast was simple the gym room was tiny It was close to many different restaurants If I needed to would stay again Regular room for a weekend nothing extra special

Our family chose Baymont by Wyndham when we traveled to Augusta, GA for my father's funeral service. One of the reasons was the price and our quick turnaround. One of the must haves was a pool for my Grandkids. Upon check in, we were told that the pool was closed for the day with no other explanation. We were told that the pool would be available the following day. This never happened, so, we were left trying to entertain a 5- and 4-year-old at the hotel. Next there was the breakfast, but what can you really expect for that price. Lastly, there was the check-in. We were asked if we wanted to keep the payment on the same card that the reservations were made on. We said no. We were asked to provide a different card and an ID, which I did. The young lady the way checking us in received my card and licensee. She then appeared to scan my card behind the desk. at the conclusion of the transaction, we were given the room keys, but no card. We had to ask for the card back and was told that she returned it, which she didn't. After looking around for it, she found and returned it. A short time later i received an alert from my bank that the charges when through on the original card to include a security deposit of $100.00. As for the secondary card that I provided, I returned to the front desk later and spoke with a Danna. She told me that she was not able to the locate the second card on file or any transaction. So, monitoring my account very closely for any additional or fraud.

Hotel was under a remodel with dust and debris everywhere. Bathroom had little to no light and there was a shirtless man sitting in a chair drinking beer outside of elevator when we arrived. My daughter was concerned as I was too. On top of that they still charged me deposit on top of normal rate. We obviously didn’t utilize or do anything to room to cause that issue. Now have to call and straighten out with customer service reps. And finally skip the free breakfast it was awful and instead went to local restaurant for food.

The property was dirty and our room was filled with mold. The air conditioning was broken, floors were dirty, outdated decor. There were strange people hanging around the entrance area early in the mornings and late at nights.

My wife had a huge roach walk across her face at 1.30am and we got no sleep untill we checked out the next day.

Stinky, old, unkept and outdated property tv/remote didn’t work. Would not come back.

The first night was ok. The second night, there was roaches in my son's bed and the bathroom. It was late so I told management on that Saturday. No laundromat because of renovations. I choose hitels based on breakfasts and laundry services. We went to breakfaston Friday morning and they didn't offer any meat which is ok, but the young lady who was doing the breakfast did not eat gloves as she was replenishing the biscuits with her bare hands. That prompted me to put our plates in the garbage and get breakfast each morning from a local restaurant. Therefore, I had to spend money on breakfast and going to a laundromat to wash the team jerseys!!

Old and worn. Obvious construction taking place in some rooms but the hotel smelked of grease and chemicals. Guests sitting in the halkways outside if rooms made it feel unsafe. Killed two roaches during the stay.

My room had bed bugs and I decided to check out within 20 minutes, I went to book a hotel room elsewhere for the rest of my stay. Staff has refused to give me any refund so I had to call the bank. Staff member that night said that they are hoping they can clean the room before he gets in trouble with his boss. Hotel cleanliness is similar to a motel 6. Kept lying about their job positions about whose manager. DONT BOOK HERE BOOK AT FAIRMON NEARBY. Had to call my bank to dispute everything. Ruined my trip overall.

The room was near the breakfast area on first floor. There was a lot of noise in the morning setting up but other than the it was fine for the one night we stayed. Hotel is under construction so some mess to be expexted

Everything was fine EXCEPT when people let the room door SLAM close instead of quietly closing the door behind themselves. I heard slamming doors my whole 3 night stay!!!

Staff were very professional and helpful. Room was okay, although the ac/heater did work much, there were water stains in the ceiling and walls, pillows were extremely used if you know what I mean.

The carpet was dirty and had holes in it. It was very noisy inside and outside. The hot water in shower was hard to adjust as the handle wasnt placed properly.

It was very quiet. Barely seen any other guest. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Only problem within the room was the light and outlet over the bed didn't work on neither side.

The room seemed to missing some furniture, like a desk chair and towel hooks inside the bathroom/place to set towels down by the shower. The AC unit inside the room was super loud. Regardless, the place itself is fairly clean.

The room was comfortable except for the bed. Could not move an inch in bed without a lot of noise.

We were in a renovated room that was very nice with a comfortable bed and small fridge and microwave. The only caution is the new tub is slippery.

This hotel had the most responsive and attentive staff I ever encountered. When I arrived there were 3 problems with the appliances. The hair dryer did not work, the microwave had a compromised inner window, and the refrigerator did not cool. I responded to a text which asked a if my room was ok. I listed the problems. The following afternoon I returned to my room and everything was replaced or fixed. A week later, I came back to the room and my room key wouldn't work. I went to the desk and Evan gave me new cards. Long story short, the electronic door mechanism was not working. Evan suggested a room change, which I was not looking forward to. He was able to give me the room next to mine, he offered to help me move, and saw that I was safely tucked into the new room. He is an amazing young man. I have stayed in a lot of hotels over my lifetime. I have never had such attentive, kind, service from any of them, including the Las Vegas strip hotels. I would highly recommend this to anyone visiting the Augusta area. It is inexpensive. But it is a diamond in the rough.

Each time I have chosen to stay here, it has been out of convenience. Previously I was given 3 different rooms for several reasons out of my control. The rooms always tend to smell kind of musty when you enter in. I am not a drinker nor a smoker and was accused of smoking in my room. I felt so touch by that accusations because that's not of my character. I went to speak with the manager Lily and she stated I left tobacco in the trash can and she wasn't able to rent the room out due to that. These companies will do anything to swindle you out of your money and though I stay here often when I travel, I'd rather take a chance going to a less likeable part of the neighborhood rather than patronize this hotel again. I should have stayed at another facility when I noticed the renovation sign still up from over a year ago and no progress has been shown. Baymont in Augusta Georgia. I am so done with you

First got checkin to a room when it was already occupied and saw a naked man. Then got put in a room without a working fridge or air conditioning. Then I got eaten alive by bedbugs

I don’t think the reviews are an accurate reflection of this hotel. Yes, it’s under construction but it’s clean & the staff is kind. I’d stay again.

Check-in was fine. Room was fine. Breakfast service was terrible. Offered a hot breakfast. The orange juice dispenser was empty, the waffle mix was empty, the refrigerator was empty except for creamer, there were two bakery shelves - empty!! There was dry bread. Some people must have gotten eggs. There were only a very few left not enough for one and there were 3 of us as well as sausage. Only evidence. We were there an hour and a half before shutting down so am sure others were equally disappointed. When you drive in from CST 8 oclock for us is actually 7. When we talked to management we were told breakfast was complimentary but not promised.

Staff at the front desk was amazing, this it’s my second time visiting this hotel.

Upon arrival, the staff could not figure out how to check me in. While they called Expedia, they made me wait one hour (at 4:30am) and generally demonstrated no concern or care. Also, hotel stinks of drugs and CBD vapes. Really low class establishment.

Asked for a Handicap Room in reservation. Never got it. New Desk Clerk. Very slow. Didn’t seem fully trained. Got a 2nd floor room half the distance of the length of the Hotel floor away fro the elevator. Phone in room did not work. Room door did not close fully flush to the door casing. Breakfast area opened late due to the only key available being lost or misplaced. 10-20 guests waiting. Attendant was a new hire. Completely overwhelmed trying to get the breakfast area ready. No decaf coffee. No waffles, no pancakes. Wait was so long, I just went to Cracker Barrel in Augusta. Whoever the owner is, doesn’t care about the operations of the property that affects guests. Seemed a little like it was a sketchy spot. It didn't help I had to hear people having sex at 3 am when I had to be at work at 6am.

This hotel is right off the 520, but there is little else regarding surroundings, to recommend it. Poor choice of eateries and inconvenient to downtown. The area has lots of homeless wandering about a few of which came into the unattended breakfast area (while we watched), and helped themselves to the items left out for the guests. We watched them stuff their pockets and leave by the door to the parking lot. Breakfast was the worst we have experienced-warmed up frozen boiled eggs, undercooked turkey sausage links were the only hot foods available. Packaged toaster waffles or really awful biscuits and tough bagels were also left out for breakfast along with muffins. Weak, lukewarm coffee in thermos bottle and a juice machine with watered down juice was available. The room smelled of mildew which was never improved even after the room was sprayed with air freshener. Ants and roaches in the bathroom and sleeping areas. Old worn out furnishings and poorly maintained doors and other surfaces. We had to request that the air conditioner unit filter be changed (it was filthy) as we thought this would alleviate the mildew smell. It did not. In essence, this is an awful hotel and I am surprised the Wyndham hotels allows its name to be associated with it. If this is an example of their hotels, my first stay (this one) will definitely be my last! The only saving grace is the front desk person, Faye, who is absolutely delightful. Pleasant, helpful and efficient, she is great!

Breakfast sucked property and room below average

My stay was more than I expected. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. Definitely will make a return visit whenever we are back in the area

For the price, property is good, going through a rebranding so lots of renovations but it was never loud which is good. At night, the lighting surrounding the area was amazing and made you feel secure. Only thing I hope that gets upgraded during the renovation is the breakfast in the morning, very bad quality

The breakfast was horrible the pool was very very disgusting dirty the staff was very rude and if the pool was clean you wouldn't be able to enjoy it because they rent it out to the locals for birthday parties the rooms were good and clean and they do have really good shampoo and conditioner
