It was a quiet, clean resort nestled right on the ocean! We sat out on the deck at night and looked up at the bright stars! Breakfast, kayaks and bike usage was included with our stay!

Property is right on the Atlantic side of the island with beautiful views. And amazing for sunrise viewing. Sunset views are just a couple miles south of the resort. Staff was great and always asked if there was anything we needed. Onsite hot tub and pool were great as well. The onsite restaurant was amazing as well. Highly recommended for a quaint keys vacation

The views and location are unbeatable! The beach and pool are beautiful, the rooms are huge and clean. It’s a nice quiet relaxing place to stay, and all the activities on the Keys are an easy drive from here. The breakfast is delicious!

Room was not clean. There was coffee stain on the drawers, trash already in the trash can. Poor lightning. Almost no lights in the room. One window with shutters closed. Property advertised having a private beach and a pool. Beach was extremely dirty, impossible to get in the water and bad smell coming from it. Pool closed due to not following some code. I had to bring my family somewhere else to be able to get in the water.

Love the vibe. The property is gorgeous, with fishing, kayaking, and the pool. We loved sitting outside under the palm trees at night. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were great. 100% will come again.

The property and staff are amazing! Breakfast is included and cooked to order. The views from the private beach are breathtaking! The only gripes are about the thin walled rooms, you can hear your neighbors every move, and no conversation is private. The rooms have been nicely updated and modernized with new bathrooms, flooring, and paint. If I was not such a light sleeper I would go back.

This was a surprising good value. The buildings were old keys style but the rooms and restaurants was modern and updated. Much larger rooms than expected. Beach was great and very well maintained. Staff was great. Checked on before the office closed and again in the morning. Walls are thin between living rooms but the bedrooms were separated so neighbors didn't wake us. Lots of kayaks and bikes. We were pleasantly surprised the whole time.

Room 20 was very clean although it lacked some repairs and updating it was in very good shape. Bed was very comfortable. The stay was just what we needed. Very quiet beautiful beach and great views of the sunrise. Pool was super clean and maintained well clear water and no smell of chlorine at all.

If you are going to Key West, this is a little gem to stay along the way! Each room has a patio or deck, there is a made to order breakfast at the restaurant every morning, a beautiful little beach, large pool and hot tub, and 2 hrs of kayaking or paddle boarding included with each night of your stay. Such a peaceful little place! Would definitely come back!

It needs updating. Our room had an air conditioner, air purifier, and dehumidifier all running at the same time. Could hardly talk to each other. Air conditioner was high, near ceiling and the only way to change it was to stand on a chair. The room was always musty. I had to wash everything, even clothes we didnt wear, because everything had musty smell. Never had housekeeping. They said they were sorry but someone should have told me to request it at check in. TV was very small. We had to slide the chest of drawers closer to bed or couch to see it. Freezer was frozen over with ice and two single sized frozen pizzas were stuck in there for awhile because when opened, they had ice all over them! We were charged more for resort fees then quoted when checking out. When I questioned her, she said rates went up July 1. Even though I made reservations in June! She would not credit me because she said it was through cooperate! She said someone should have notified me??? There is no beach to swim, even though they said beach access in ad. View was pretty but sand was crushed stone. With resort fee we were suppose to get water in room. There was never any bottled water in our room. Breakfast was free and very good. Bed was comfortable and shower was nice. We were never told you could use bikes and paddle boats for free. Pool was warm but not real clean. A few bugs floating on top. We will not stay there again.

Firstly, the staff was amazing. Very friendly. Very accommodating. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Overall, the property needs major updating. But the main issue is an issue of overall property maintenance and cleanliness. The beach area was completely littered with plastics and garbage to the degree where you cannot walk or swim in that water. This was very disappointing as the reason I booked the property was because of the the private beach. It appears as though the plastics get brought in daily with the tide, and there they remained throughout the entire stay. It is the responsibility of the property to maintain the beach and they do not. The grounds are also littered with dog feces and cigarette butts. There was a strong smell that permitted into the actual buildings from outdoors. This property has a lot of potential due to the location, but management needs to work on keeping that beach clean.

At first glance everything seemed acceptable, then the mold smell got worse, we couldn’t sleep, so checked AC filter, ABSOLUTELY FILTHY, and what I thought were stains on the ceiling over our beds was actually active growing mold! Staff did come in quickly and bleached and vacuumed filter (which shld been done before check in!) Comfortable beds but not a single place to hang clothes and only a few drawers for a 4 person rm. Oh and don’t ever stay in room #1, it’s right below the kitchen of the “hideaway cafe” which btw is a very busy restaurant Thurs-Sun and you ain’t sleeping worth a damn until after midnight, or past 7am becamuse of their “free breakfast”! Jacuzzi hot tub by pool stopped working midweek. Kayaks were more expensive to rent then elsewhere. And included “Free breakfast “ wasn’t worth free…the staff, except for Elena, all looked miserable and I don’t think knew how to smile. So yeah….we checked out earlier than planned.

Rainbow Bend was a nice gem for us for my birthday weekend! We really lived the scenic area and the tropical feel of the property. We rented a suite and it was very spacious. Although, could have been cleaner. We found dust on the walls & wall AC, and some mold & hair in the bathroom. The staff was nice and the breakfast included was also good. It is an updated place, although still needs keeping up.

Cute old Florida motel right on the water with it's own private beach. The room was very clean and updated, the grounds are very tropical and well maintained, the staff was super friendly and helpful and the late check in process is very efficient. We will definitely stay here again.

Room was superficial clean. Wiped bathroom backsplash before putting my toothbrush there and it was black. Same with shower. Handles on closet door also filthy. One old AC unit in living room which doesn’t really get to the other rooms. Apparently the restaurant there is separate however the pictures I took of kitchen from open door would probably be enough to close them down. 3 AC vent in dining area are black and full of black dirt and dust. AND entree’s run $50 - $60 !!!! We decided to come home early.

The location on Marathon Key is great. The motel is quiet and on a little stretch of beach and a nice ocean view (although there is no water access). The pool and hot tub were nice additions. However, our room smelled very strongly of mildew, so much that it was a little hard to be in there for long periods of time and sleep comfortably.

I I will start with a good. The small beach is beautiful and the cooked to order breakfast by Jose was delicious. Now for the disappointing our room was number 18 right on the highway. It was very noisy but when you entered the room, the air conditioning was very loud so it’s rounded out, there was no place to put our suitcases , no closet and no chairs in the room to sit.

The hotel is on a beautiful property but it’s run down and old looking. The AC in room 20 was so loud I could not sleep. I am not a light sleeper. The AC is also located right above the bed. The room itself has an updated shower andexcept the toilet was old stained and cracked.

I absolutely loved our stay at Rainbow Bend Resort! Our room was super cute with an incredible ocean view. The night sky was breathtaking, Mornings were just as beautiful with serene, calming views. The room was very clean and cozy (yes, the walls are a bit thin, but it didn’t take away from the experience). What really stood out was their customer service truly incomparable. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful.

It was nice to be at a property that was not crowded and right on the beach. Our 2 bedroom had plenty of space. Free parking and breakfast. Kids enjoyed playing corn hole. Our room had great views. Actual beds were comfortable. Nice to have kitchen but no fry pan to cook our quesadillas in. They do need to do some painting and maintenance in that room. Our sofa bed which we paid a premium each night for our 5th person ($60 each night) to sleep on had issues so the person had to sleep on top of the couch and not use the bed and sheets. The room was decorated cute. When we first walked in it smelled very bleachy and musty so we had to open the windows each time we entered. We picked the place because they had kayaks, SUP, and bikes to use. Water around property was super shallow and grassy (it is on Grassy Key) so only went out once and not for very long. Our son wanted to use a paddle board but no one was in the office to get a paddle after we checked in. Used pool but no towels available which was okay since hot. It was a quiet place right on a beach and sort of a half way point if u are going to Key West. All the pictures on Expedia for the room we paid for did not match up with the room we got.

Rainbow Blend is a great spot in Marathon close to lots within a short drive. The hotel rooms are all updated and nicely appointed. We had a 2nd floor room with a balcony overlooking the water. The hotel has a very nice pool and hot tub overlooking the ocean.

I love the grounds and the location. The hot tub was a treat. The rooms need improvement. The bathroom smelled like mildew, not very clean. The room only had one towel and one roll of toilet paper. Had to ask for more. The room needs to be upgraded. The breakfast was edible but nothing special. Not sure if I’d stay here again. Maybe if they did some renovation on the rooms and bathrooms. It has potential but someone needs to invest in it.

Our room was the only room under the restaraunt of the hotel which serves free breakfast beginning at 8AM. We were woken up at 6am both mornings to stomping and constant furniture being moved across the floor. There were no other available rooms so despite paying the same as everyone else, we were unable to sleep in the morning. Not ideal for a “relaxing” vacation.

We stayed in room # 2 below the restaurant and could not get to sleep until 1:00 am when all kind of loud noises stopped, bathroom was clean but not the bedroom flooring, comfy beds,breakfast was ok, good coffee,office and cafeteria staff were very friendly, good swimming pool and jacuzzy, nice ocean view and relaxing but not swimming beach, about 4 miles from marathon city.

So let me start by saying that we have stayed here before., and had a wonderful time. My wife just had her 2nd birthday beating leukemia and this was how she wanted to celebrate. We traveled from Philly area starting at 4:30 AM and got to Rainbow bend around 3:30 after a nice stop at bass pro for lunch and shopping. when we tried to check in we were told the room we reserved was not the one we were getting. she (Jeanette) stated we reserved thru Expedia, and that was the issue. I told her we also called the lodge to confirm. She was not hospitable at all! She wanted to put us in a room facing the road. I asked if there wass one facing the ocean and her response was if there is it may cost more and we would have to pay for it! this woman should never be allowed to talk to guests. Her response was - she was having a bad day. I told her to get over it and solve the problem, She had a crappy attitude so i got right back at her and she asked if we wanted to cancel our reservation. At that point my wife (the reasonable one) asked to see her manager. The manager (owner) came and got us into a very nice room facing the beach. the beach is very nice with corn hole games and kayaks. the grass in the water is a bit smelly and totally not swimmable. the pool was very nice and always clean. it is a nice place but i don't think at this point we will be back. If you go, call the place and schedule directly with them.

We were given very little information when we checked in. We were not told that a restaurant was available for dinner so we were too late to make a reservation that night. They advertise on the beach, but the beach is sand only, no water access. Just rocks like the coast of Maine. There is a definite lack of help in the restaurant in the morning. One guy running around trying to do everything. He was very pleasant. The whole resort needs a little TLC. If you want anything you must go to the office yourself and get it. The office is open and closed sporadically. Nothing is in the room telling you about restaurants or activities in the area. I will say that once we were able to get a reservation in the restaurant the food was very good. It seems to be very popular which creates a problem if you go out at night, trying to find a place to park when you return. It could be a really nice place if a little work was put into it.

We stayed here after spending 4 nights in Key Largo. The property is an older vacation resort in a great location. We enjoyed hanging outside with a fantastic water view better when the tide is up. The smell of the seagrass at times was a bit harsh, but when you have breezes it's not as bad. The pool is nice and a great place to cool off. We very much enjoyed our 5 night stay here before heading to Key West.

We had never been to the keys before. We booked a last minute stay (2days before we left). I was concerned with the mixed reviews. But Once we were there, we were pleased. The outside of buildings is nothing spectacular, but with the salt air it is hard to keep anything in excellent condition. The beach area was very nice. The breakfast was very nice as well. It's not gourmet, but good country style hot meal. The suite was nice. Very basic. Only complaint was cleanliness. There was dirty plastic silverware in the one cupboard. And an old coffee filter was in coffee pot. But honestly, those items could be over looked. I think this is a great location if visiting all the keys. It is centrally located. There is a nice bike/walking path across the street from this hotel. Plus 7 mile bridge is only 10 miles away and is great place to watch sunrise or sunset. Close to many attractions. Honestly for the price, location, and if only spending minimal time at the hotel this place is a good place to stay. If looking for resort life with spa, this is not what you are looking for. Another plus, they are pet friendly if you have animals. And in quiet area (minus the road noise) no busy bars, businesses, or other hotels.

Property is right on the Atlantic side of the island with beautiful views. And amazing for sunrise viewing. Sunset views are just a couple miles south of the resort. Staff was great and always asked if there was anything we needed. Onsite hot tub and pool were great as well. The onsite restaurant was amazing as well. Highly recommended for a quaint keys vacation

I actually stayed here to be right next to the Hideaway Café restaurant! I had such a lovely dinner and it was so convenient to walk over to dinner. You have to get the hogfish francaise!

The room smelled funky, the bathroom fan cover was gone and not functioning, grout was missing from the shower tiles in some areas, very loud window shaker ac unit, very loud road noise, and lots of trash on the shore line. The disappointing cherry on top - we were told there would be a free breakfast from 0800-10am. We were there at 8am and no one was there, so we sat down by the water until we saw movement up there around 0830. The door was still locked so we knocked on it. A young lady came to the door and said she didn’t know how to open up the place and we can sit wherever we wanted to. We ordered tea and coffee and no menu was offered. 20 mins later she arrives with 2 mugs of hot water and was handling them from their tops! She explained she couldn’t get the coffee make going so we said no thanks and left. When I dropped off the key, and told the young lady about everything all she did was shrug her shoulder and say sorry, have a nice day. Such a crappy experience.

We loved our one night stay at Rainbow Bend hotel. The room was very spacious and clean. We loved the ocean view and the wrap-around porch our room had. The kitchen is well equipped and it has a full size fridge. I would definetly recommend staying here. Staff was friendly and helpful.
We loved our one night stay at Rainbow Bend hotel. The room was very spacious and clean. We loved the ocean view and the wrap-around porch our room had. The kitchen is well equipped and it has a full size fridge. I would definetly recommend staying here. Staff was friendly and helpful.

The potential of this property could be amazing . Very outdated ,Rooms are slightly updated . Don’t let the PICTs fool you because the beach was gross not blue or clean at all, garbage everywhere in water . Electrical problems. Restaurant is no longer open breakfast was stale and pool had mold in it and poop all around the pool Area let alone the hot tub did not work! Although this is prime property it is not kept up at all.. the staff is amazing and very nice but that won’t keep the guests coming !

I have multiple sclerosis and need aid for walking. I use a walker or electric chair. The room I booked said it was handicap friendly. Well it was not! To get into the hotel room I needed to hold on to pillars to hoist myself up to a wooden balcony so I can go inside the holtel room. I couldn't use the pool because it had stairs with no railing to get into. The resort offered a free breakfast. But I couldn't go with my family because it was on the second floor and no elevator. They had to bring my breakfast it to me. I also chose this resort because it said it had a private beach. Nope! It should say waterfront property not beach. So no bueno. I felt lied to and it wasn't cheap. I paid for something that was not friendly to a disabled person. The view was beautiful but sucked for me
