I didn't like the elevator was broken. I had to carry heavy luggage to the third floor. The people in the room next to me argued late at night then again early in the morning waking mt son and i up at 6am. It wasnt a pleasant stay

Area was quaint. Hotel was connected by a hallway to its sister property (traditional Holiday Inn) which had a restaurant and bar which was convenient. Staff was friendly and room was clean.

The lamps at the head of the beds did not light. The alarm clock display was not operating. I called the front desk and they sent a person to investigate. He thought it was just a need for new bulbs. Not! After several attempts to fix the switched us to a different room. I wondered why Housekeeping people didn't detect this when cleaning the room. After we switched rooms we observed there was no alarm clock in the new room. Guest services quickly got another (from our first room). Again, why wouldn't Housekeeping have reported this issue instead of allowing the situation to cause an inconvenience to a guest?

The first room that I checked in, there were hair on bedding. The front desk was really nice & immediately assigned me another room, which had the same problem but I didn’t complain again . It was a 2 day stay . On the morning of the second day me & my kids woke up to bug bites on different parts of our body. I visit Williamsport often & mostly choose Holiday inn express for my stay. But this time i had a really bad experience with the cleanliness and hygiene of the rooms.

Pros: - Check in process was quick and easy - Staff was polite Cons: - Dirty rooms - Stains on the bed sheets - Clogged bathroom sink (full of debris); water didn\'t drain out after washing hands The front desk representative sent maintenance to fix the sink and deliver a new set of sheets immediately after we notified them, but then we noticed stains on the other bed sheets (2 beds) - didn\'t bother to call the front desk yet again... It\'s quite disappointing that we couldn\'t exactly feel "comfortable" due to the lack of cleanliness...the housekeeping staff should have discovered and reported a clogged sink, but the fact that they didn\'t means they don\'t thoroughly clean the bathrooms (you\'d need to run the faucet and use water to properly wash the sink, correct??)...and the fact that they are ignoring stains on the bed sheets is disturbing.

The bathroom needs a new toilet seat. It’s very old and stained and just looked dingy. There weren’t any extra pillows for the pull out sofa bed. When at breakfast 9 am. There weren’t anymore bagels out and things were depleted with no one replenishing them.

This hotel was not clean. Out bathroom had remnants of the previous guest and the bottom of the shower surround had not been cleaned in a good while. Hallways and areas around trash cans and near elevators were not vacuumed. The breakfast was so bad - we just threw it out.

Room was pleasantly clean. Was very surprised about the breakfast, which was not bad at all. They had eggs, bacon, a muffin and potatoes. You can also get several different types of drinks in the morning like chocolate milk, orange juice or apple juice.. I definitely will return and stay at this hotel.

I was travelling alone and first I was giving an adjoining room. I asked to be moved because in my experience you can hear people talking on the other side. The front desk told me there were plenty of rooms and I requested the river/mountain view side. He said people say it's noisy. I said the highway doesn't bother me, only people talking in adjoining rooms. He assigned me to the back with a view of an ugly roof and a concrete wall. And I still heard noises in the middle of the night which sounded like a freight train but I don't think there are tracks nearby so not sure what that was. Also first I reserved the king room with sofa bed, thinking I would be able to sit on the couch and watch tv. When he upgraded me to the suite, there was a sofa but in a different part of the room and facing away from the TV looking at a blank wall, so I couldn't watch tv from the sofa. It was a very odd layout. And if you're a family thinking a suite will provide some privacy, it won't. In fact the head of the bed faces the sofa, so you'll be directly looking in the face of each other. Also I tried using the pool and was disappointed that there were no towels at all. I think they should be checking that. On the plus side it's very clean and spacious.

Bed was comfortable. Room was a good size with king bed and couch. Walls are very thin. Heard everything in the adjoining room. Allowed me to check in early. No elevator and room on third floor. Breakfast was nice. Breakfast area was clean. Carting everything up three and a half flights of stairs and then carting it all back down again at 7am ruined my stay.

Stayed here for a stop over for a road trip. Walkable to a number of restaurants, including The Brickyard, which we gave thumbs up all around. Anyway, negatives - like others, having the Holiday Inn and HI Express right next to each other was confusing and I also tried to check in to Holiday Inn. Then later, I needed to ask for more towels and the front desk person was out. The sign said to go to the HI desk... but we couldn't find it! The main floor is kind of a maze. We had a road-facing room. There is nothing the hotel can do, but the road noise was loud at times with speeding motorcycles and loud semis. Positives - room was clean, bed was comfy, free breakfast was good, with a good variety. So for our overnight stay, was perfectly suitable and would stay here again, maybe just ask for a non-road facing room.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. And even though the hotel was extremely busy, it was not noisy. And even the morning breakfast had all the expected food options and was delicious. Our room was comfortable and very clean. The coffee machine in the lobby brewed a delicious cup of coffee!

When I went to check in the staff at the desk, not even look at me for four people, and they only had towels for three people I had to go and ask for extra towels every night. I was there when I was there available to me.

We stayed during three of the hottest days of June 2025. The A/C was great in the hotel room. We stayed in a King Suite which was roomy and had nice amenities. We had an even numbered room facing the mountains and highway and the Susquehanna river. The James restaurant is a casual restaurant with an upscale menu and prices to match. The food was fresh and well prepared, but came out almost all at the same time giving the impression that we were rushed. Our server apologized when she realized the error. This hotel has been updated. The elevator is not. Pick a low floor or get in your steps. Housekeeping was in abstentia our entire visit. Our room had only two washcloths at check in. We got our own towels and emptied our garbage for two days. We got housekeeping on the third day after another request. I’m not sure what is happening at this hotel. Everyone was nice and kind, but follow through was an issue.

I had issues with my room in that the refrigerator was making allot of noise. When I asked to have it changed out the response I got was it may be easier to just move rooms. I agreed and took the room next to mine. When I went to move, the room keys did not work. I returned back to the desk a second time to get new keys. When returning, the keys did not work a second time. I had to return to the desk a third time. Keep in mind there is a single elevator that is extremely slow. Rather than offering to just change out the refrigerator which would have take minutes, I am now 20 minutes later and still no access. Finally the Maintenace person gave me access to the new room and then went to get new keys which upon return did not work again. He tried a programmer and that did not work. I ended up having to leave me room unlocked while they fix the issue and leave me a set of keys to be picked up at the front desk. Needless to say replacement of the noisy refrigerator would have been the best option and I was not offered any compensation for my inconvenience nor even a feeling of care for causing said inconvenience.
