This Hotel is amazing, it has Starbucks inside. It has 2 more diners. It has a convenient store inside to buy drinks , nuts , chips and candy and jewelry to shop for . It’s has snacks , peanut butter and has different types of alcohol for those who drink , it’s has clothing store and has a bar too . It offers swimming pool and has handicapped equipped. The only problem is that I needed more time to stay and see more . The 3rd largest mall is next to us .

Pool area has probably searing for 200 but only 5 sun/shade umbrellas all of which are at eating style tables near towel reception. No shade from hot tropical sun and guests pulling chairs to try and get a bit of shade from . Needs at least 20 umbrellas distributed around thethe lounge chairs just as you would find at every other tropical hotel pool. Spoiled what could have been avrelaxing day at rhe pool.

This Ala Moana Hotel is just a block away from Ala Moana Shopping Center. There is a convenience store inside the hotel, a Starbucks, a restaurant, a good breakfast buffet. Staff is friendly. It’s not really walking distance to Waikiki… No shuttle to airport. Uber to airport is $25-$30, Taxi $45.

Stayed for 4 night's on a very good black Friday deal via Trip Advisor. Centrally located near the Ala Moana mall with access via a skybridge through the Macy's parking lot, with many eateries & stores. Rooms were on the small size, but a comfortable mattress. Had to request additional pillows (none in closet or additional blankets) since they were on the small size. Large size chair serves as a pull out single mattress. Fridge, coffee maker & microwave included. Pool & fitness room access on 4th floor via Kona Tower or 3rd floor via the Waikiki tower. Free pool & beach towels, as well as free covered cabanas too. A free map would've helped to navigate to/from Skybridge. Lobby chairs & sofa were too soft, which made it difficult to rise. Water bottle filler near elevators is an added amenity. View from the 36th floor of the Waikiki tower is breathtaking. Walking distance to the Magic Island park. Fifteen minute walk to Walmart & Sam's Club. Friendly & courteous staff. Several times calling front desk resulted in automatic disconnections.

I liked that is close to the mall,……that mall is HUGE AND nice ….you will need one only if you want to do it all The hotel is good,I would like a better view I was not so happy to pay $40 a day for parking,but it is what it is I would recommend it

It's a huge hotel across from Ala Moana Beach. Our room was supertiny, with partial ocean view. The pool area is nice, but there is no any food or drinks are allowed, and no pool bar is there. Convenient location next to the shopping mall with plenty of food choices.

Perfect location for shopping and walking to Waikīkī. The Signature, rooftop, happy hour is awesome-Perfect dusk lighting of the high rises there from the 36th floor. Very good food and drinks for good value. Gym and pool are lovely with shaded comfy seating.

Lovely rooms and staff :) Laundrette is due for an update but the lobby and rest of the building is modern and lovely. There are shops in the motel and also next door in the Ala Moana shopping centre. A short bus ride to Waikiki. Great place to stay for couples, families, everyone!

Pool was too cold and there was no hot tub. My fault for not checking that before booking but it was surprising that a property in the Waikiki area would not have that. Also the pool closed early and there were no drinks permitted in the pool area. Again fine but just a bit more limiting than I would have liked. Also high pressure sales in the gift shop was a turn off.

Our first assigned room smelled like “dog” I called to move room. The second room looked like it’s their “back up” room? Seemed it wasn’t occupied in a while. We had to call for sheets, the rug was dirty and the shower had hair stuck to the walls of the shower. The vanity draws in the bathroom the veneer was chipped. The hair dryer wasn’t cleaned of the dust it accumulated on the screen. Ala Moana by Mantra has been our “go to” Hotel to visit our ohana it’s convenient. This is the first stay that I wasn’t happy.

Pro: location, parking garage, soft bed and clean linen and quiet stay if you're on the higher floor. I was on the 21 floor during my stay and it was a peaceful stay. Con: dated hotel that need to be renovated. The room was dated and bathroom smelled moldy. There were fingerprints on the suite door and sliding glass door. The counter, side table and tv remote was dirty when I wiped it with a wet wipe it came away brown. There are stains on chair cushions and the walls. I will not be staying here again. It's disappointing to see the cleaning quality has dropped so drastically after the pandemic.

There is a lot to like about this hotel. The lobby and restaurants are nice, its located not too far from the beach and located very close to a major shopping center. Unfortunately they drop the ball on the cleanliness of their rooms. They are absolutely filthy. Stains all over the carpet, mounds of dust on the furniture, bathroom in terrible shape. For the price, I would prob recommend going somewhere else

I was wondering why my asthma was triggered, enough to the point where I had to buy and use a nebulizer… right after taking a shower the morning I checked up, I saw BLACK MOLD in the bathroom door frame!!! I’ve been breathing in black mold for 4 nights!!

We booked the basic room and it was so small that there was barely any space left in the room to step a foot with one checkin luggage and 2 cabin bags. Bathroom n shower were also not in great condition. Good part about the hotel is staff and the location of the hotel.

Large room with a comfortable bed. I was put in the Kona Tower/city view which overlooks the loading dock, so sometimes there was noise in the middle of the night from the trucks backing in to offload supplies.

the staff was great - from those in the lobby to housekeeping. what I didn't like was how they don't let u use the luggage carts to move to your room. you have to use the valet peeps and tip them. also, I specifically chose the Waikiki tower because reviews said the Kona tower was dated. well my carpet was stained between the beds. and the bed had a serious sag towards the right. visually it appeared flat. when u got in bed - ha! finally, I found the wifi surprisingly unstable, despite the antenna being right there in the room. what's up with that?

The lanai is the high point for sure. Enjoyed the stay, the bed was comfortable and the fridge, and hairdryer were in good working order. The tv channels were a bit warbly but the tv didn’t really compete with watching the clouds on the lanai anyway. I would definitely opt to stay there again next time I’m in Honolulu.

The hotel was next to the mall which was convenient and the staff was amazing, while booking they advertised partial ocean views which ended up being a parking lot with terrible "ocean views " they could use realistic pictures instead of using the ones from the other tower

Room we were in was very small. When you open the bathroom door, it's about an inch from the toilet. Beds were comfortable and room was generally clean but felt lacking given the price we paid for an October stay.

The property was great because it was connected to the Ala Moana Mall and had a beautiful lobby and restaurants. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful. However, the laundry room was like we took a time machine back into the 90s with old machines and dispensers for detergent. It was anything but clean as well. The room where we stayed looked like it had been updated lately, but the windows were so thin (maybe single-pain) that the street noise from the fifth floor was so loud that it kept us awake at night. The bathroom looked clean, but we had hair on the counter, and it smelled like stinky feet.

We were checking out at 4.45am to get a flight home. The unfriendly staff member on checking out appeared to really not want to be there and just invoiced us for a breakfast we never got and did not mention it or that she was charging our card that was on file. Just processed it and gave us the your done now! So we assumed it was all sorted with no issues as we were just handing the keys back. We checked the invoice at the airport and noticed the additional charge. We called the hotel immediately and were told they would look into it and get back to us. We explained that we were about to board a plane in the next 2 hours but please leave a voicemail and we will return the call ASAP, but after 5 days still no response. We have sending the emails about it too with no response. The check in staff were lovely and would rate him a 10 out of 5. But the whole check out process and follow up since has left a very sour taste and we will not stay here again and would not recommend it to our family or friends.

My stay was great. However, I received a call on the room phone from security, asking us if we were checking out. Told them that we had a late check out. I heard a knock on the door shortly after, and as I was getting up to answer the door, security entered the room. Asked if were checking out. Again I told them that we had requested a late check out. I called the front desk and they confirmed that my request for a late checkout was on record and apologized for the error.

Take Note: This hotel has 2 towers: the newer Waikiki Tower and the Kona Tower, so the reviews will differ greatly. This review is for the "Kona Tower - City View" room costing us a total of $281.95 for one night. To put it bluntly, we give this room a thumbs down. It did not have a city view -- looking at a wall, parking lot, and the 2 buildings surrounding it does not constitute a "view." When I contacted the front desk upon reaching the room, I was told this was the "standard Expedia room" and that nothing better was available without additional cost. The room itself was incredibly basic, plus it had stains on the ceiling over the bed, only one set of pillows and one washcloth, the sliding door and lanai glass were terribly dirty, the toilet had hair all over it and liquid on the seat (I had to clean it, and dark dirt came off the lid), and no ice machine in the tower (had to go to Waikiki tower)! The walls were pretty thin and we could hear our neighbors ... having a good time. The good things? Check in was fast with nice people, the bed was pretty comfortable, and the location was next to the Ala Moana Center and a (long) walking distance to the Blaisdell arena.

Service was amazing. I asked front desk if I could have a late check out for 1:00 they did not have that available but instead offered 12:00. I am happy they tried to work something out.

I would recommend booking directly with the hotel if possible. I ran into a couple of questions and issues and each time, it was the next day or several hours before I received a reply with no resolution. We had a tight turn around for check in since we had a birthday party to get ready for and when I messaged the host saying the room wasn't ready at gaurunteed check in time, she responded a couple hours later when we were alerted the room was ready.The room was some what clean but the coffee maker still had water in it from previous use and only had one small roll of toilet for a 5 night stay. Anything additional needed we were told to purchase. At check out we were informed that dishes needed to be washed and an extra fee would be charged for ANY TRASH left behind. This was not in the listing or the check in information. There was no dish soap or sponge and there are no large trash cans nearby to dispose of trash. We actually checked out a day early because of the horrible experience so drove back to the hotel to do the best we can in disposing of ALL the trash in the room. It wasn't worth the stress and hassle of staying here. I should've just booked with the hotel directly.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The Starbucks in the lobby was so nice to have . We were there for an event at the Convention Center and it was only a five minute walk. I’d stay here again.

We were happy choosing Ala Moana hotel because the parking is convenient compared to Waikiki areas. Super easy commute everywhere, shopping center is very accessible and near 7/11 and Don Quijote for budget friendly food and souvenirs. I would still choose this the next time we will visit. The Waikiki area hotels have only valet parking and kinda hassle for us since we always come and go by the hotel.

Overall the stay deserves 4 stars, my biggest complaints are the surrounding areas around the hotel. The hotel needs to do their due diligence to make sure the walkways/side walks surround the hotel are clean and safe. There is a lot of homeless around the area especially behind the hotel that we saw on multiple nights walking back to the hotel. It is a 20-30 minute walk to Waikīkī beach depending on how fast you walk so that’s great.

We recommend this hotel for it’s convenient to the Alamoana shopping center and location. Although it is not in the heart of Waikiki, we enjoy it because it’s away from the crowds and noise at night

Like the convenient location and the excellent breakfast! Did not like one of the food items we ordered for our reunion dinner October 16 at the restaurant on the 36th floor. It totally destroyed our mold for celebration!

This Hotel is amazing, it has Starbucks inside. It has 2 more diners. It has a convenient store inside to buy drinks , nuts , chips and candy and jewelry to shop for . It’s has snacks , peanut butter and has different types of alcohol for those who drink , it’s has clothing store and has a bar too . It offers swimming pool and has handicapped equipped. The only problem is that I needed more time to stay and see more . The 3rd largest mall is next to us .

We stayed at the Ala Moana Hotel 2 years ago when it was undergoing renovation, so today it's in a better shape. It's a big hotel, nice but not super luxurious. Lots of airlines use it, so when they come in the elevators and the common areas can be rather crowded. The rooms are very comfortable, all with balconies. The breakfast is very good and there's one of Honolulu's best bars on the premises. Ala Moana is much less touristic than Waikiki (which is a walking distance away), so we actually prefer this area.

Overnight at Ala Moana before a 10 night cruise to Vancouver was just perfect. We opted for breakfast included which was plentiful. We had dinner in there brew pub and the food a service excellent. Got a late checkout of noon and lounged around the pool until time to leave for the cruise port (late embarkation). Very good experience.

Staff is second to none! Excellent. Great restaurant for early breakfast buffet! Room shows some minor wear, but overall is a great, convenient location. Really nice to be located adjacent to the Ala Moana Center Mall! Second time staying here…..would definitely stay here again to avoid the congestion in downtown Waikiki area.

We had a great time here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived in Hawaii early in the day and they were able to help us out with getting checked in early even though our check in time was 3 pm. Offers very convenient options for food and drinks! Loved the breakfast cafe and Starbucks in the building. Pint Jigger was also a cool place to have a drink or some dinner. Ala Moana shopping center just a walk across the street was also really convenient for when wanting to go out and about without needing to drive anywhere. Definitely would stay here again!

Perfect location for shopping and walking to Waikīkī. The Signature, rooftop, happy hour is awesome-Perfect dusk lighting of the high rises there from the 36th floor. Very good food and drinks for good value. Gym and pool are lovely with shaded comfy seating.

The property was so beautiful, and the location was convenient. We booked a room with ocean view, and it was breathtaking! The staff was so welcoming and nice, they answered all our questions. The only thing we had a hard time was we asked for towels three times, and they were never delivered to our room during our stay. Everything else was perfect! Dinner at The Signature was delicious! Would definitely return! Mahalo!!

The location was perfect. I was able to walk to the less crowded beach, mall, convention center, etc. I felt safe. The food in the cafe by the pool was good and reasonable. The pub was good for late nights.

I felt very neglected. Stay was 8 nights with no services. Not even towel changes or amenities like conditioner, toilet paper &, lotions. No garbage bags. Rusty ice bucket. Wish I knew it was an air B&B before i arrived. Would have not booked it! Basically ruined our volleyball tournament/ family vacation 😢

From the beginning, I didn’t expect this room was a private room and would have to contact the local property management to find my booking and housekeeping. So no daily housekeeping. Also, there was more fee charges than what Travelocity advised when it was booked. A very partial ocean view. Location of hotel is only thing I enjoyed.

I never knew that there was such a thing as a third-party organization involved in renting a hotel room. I did not realize this when I made the reservation. It led to extra fees at the hotel when checking in. There were ridiculous check-in fees, amenity fees, and we could not use the hotel staff for our service needs. We needed clean towels, and the hotel cleaning staff would not give us any. We were supposed to contact the Livily representative just for towels. We had no coffee cups in the room and when I contacted the LIvily rep for cups, they brought more bad coffee instead. There was no soap in the bathroom and no knives in the very small fake kitchen kind of place. I will never use them again, and always check to make sure you are getting your reservation with the hotel and not some other 3rd party.
