We loved the Sweetwater Branch Inn! My husband and I stayed along with our 17 year old son. We had a queen bed and a Murphy bed. The Inn is beautiful. We borrowed bikes and went all around town to different breweries and restaurants. The breakfast at the Inn is also spectacular. Great for Gator games or just a weekend away!

It’s a really beautiful property made up of several nice old Florida homes. The salt water pool was a pleasant addition. The included breakfast was nice but the cost for additional guests to join did not match what was offered. It felt a bit odd to charge so much so that people I was visiting could join me when for much less we could have gotten more from a local restaurant. The parking is limited - one spot per room, which wasn’t an issue for me but should be told in advance. They offer many ways to upgrade your stay (massages, flowers, etc) so this would be a great place to stay for an anniversary. I do think the cost was too high out of season, and I would expect a lower rate for mid-May. I would come back but I think they would be cost-prohibited in season. I will say because it’s an old Florida property, it also has features like a lack of central air and a general humidity inside which some travelers might not enjoy, especially in the summer months.

This place was priced economically but the experience was exquisite! Late check in was a breeze, snacks were available upon arrival, and the breakfast in the morning was great! The beds were comfy (even the murphy in the Piccadilly suite) and far better than expected. Parking is quiet and safe and I’ll absolutely be back if I need to stay in the area!

Super cute concept- the cottages have a very homey feel. We stayed two nights- We arrived very late, and left very early, so contact with any staff was limited to email/texts and notes. Very easy after hours key retrieval. Room was cozy, sweetly decorated, modern chic. Very clean. I wanted to take the body lotion home with me, it smelled so good. On the first night, the gentleman sharing the cottage porch patio was smoking a cigar and the smell wafted into our room, and the second night the new neighbor made a lot of noise. But that is not the fault of the proprietor of the inn. It’s a little far from UF campus and unfortunately we did not enjoy the beautiful breakfast spread that looked delicious. I look forward to returning! Thank you!

We had a nice stay, staff is very friendly and accommodating and good breakfast. We brought our small dog puppy, who finds everything, so one negative was that deep cleans to rooms are needed. I had to move couch and rugs and sweep and clean under covered areas because there was a lot of black dirt, dust, and dog hair- definitely had been there a long time. Also bed in master is difficult to clean under because it is so low to ground and has extra support with plywood and I found a lot under it including someone else’s pill. I worried that there may have been another one that my dog could have eaten so searched online and found was muscle relaxer. We stayed at pet friendly Melrose Cottage and advise if staying with curious puppy or dog to check rooms before letting them down on the floor.

I stumbled across this location by accident and could not be happier! The grounds are well kept and beautiful. The buildings are kept up and clean. Porches are for sitting with friends and they have plentiful seating available! The room was well decorated and very cozy!

This place is very nice but old, tiny rooms and you can hear everything, even the floors cracking sound, the breakfast is excellent every day different menu, great service!! Need to upgrade the pillows they’re not confortable!!!

Texed and called the”on call” number and no response. A bit overpriced based on my experience. Staff was very friendly and nice.

This is an adorable area with old homes that have been turned into rooms for the night or the weekend or the week. However, the air conditioner in the Rochelle room was inadequate. It came on blasting, and then when it went off and you were frozen the room became very, very humid. I think they need to invest in a humidifier. However, it was very quiet and it was very easy to walk to find good food and shopping

Stayed for a gradation at UF. Property is absolutely beautiful! Area around the inn is nice and very quiet. We loved our cottage. Very spacious with kitchen, garden tub on enclosed patio. Nice to have the breakfast included. Would stay here again.

I had the best experience. Check in was a breeze and I like the old fashioned keys that are provided. I forgot my toothbrush and they had a few essentials there for purchase. I only interacted with one staff member, Laurent, and he made quite an impression. He was very nice and considerate. I came back after a late dinner with a friend as he was closing up for the night. Before he left he made sure I didn’t need anything. I thought that was thoughtful. The accommodations were top notch. I wouldn’t stay anywhere else in Gainesville other than here, again. I love history, and the houses brought that. I like the red ropes across the doorways to each room/suite. You were able to see the beautiful, unoccupied rooms, without entering. The antiques, the decor in general, the thought that went into making the houses feel like a home was comforting. I believe I may have been the only guest in my particular house, but I felt safe, and had the best nights sleep. I highly recommend the Sweetwater Branch Inn.

Beautiful property with excellent service. Check in was easy, kitchen staff were very welcoming and although we had some issues with some noisy guests at night downstairs, we called the after hours number and they quieted them down so we could sleep. Cute property.

It seems like a place that you would expect a fancy B&B breakfast, but it was more like a Holiday Inn Express breakfast, which I like by the way, so its not thatbit was bad at all, I just expected something more.
