At Castello di Montalbano, travelers love the romantic castle atmosphere and panoramic Florence views, while repeatedly noting the secluded setting, steep access, and costly or unreliable taxis that make having a car or detailed arrival plans very helpful.

Simply beautiful the only thing is make sure you have a car. Taxi are expensive and they didn’t want to drive there they would literally refuse because it’s secluded. Everything was beautiful the breakfast could have been much better but the view it’s amazing lovely lady at the office just make sure you have a car otherwise gorgeous

What's not to like about staying in a medieval Italian Castle? Great views of Florence from the two rooms we stayed in. There is plenty of parking for your car and its a five minute drive to Florence. The complimentary breakfast is delicious and filling for a day out on the town. The best part about the Castle is the awesome staff. These are the nicest and friendliest people! They do speak English making communication easy. They are very accommodating making a stay at the Castle feel more intimate and friendly!

The images don't reflect reality. The property looks abandoned. It's sad to see it practically in ruins. I don't understand how Expedia has this in their options.

If you didn’t rent a car, be prepared to walk up a hill! Castle is quiet and beautiful. No amenities around and you need to prebook if you want food while there. There’s no fridge/glasses so factor that in if you’re enjoying wine or food there!
