The Morris House is a unique hotel. Just around the corner from Independence Hall, we were in walking distance to the historical museums and parks. Plenty of eating establishments nearby as well. Our car never left the convenient parking garage across the street, and we received a discount by staying at the Morris House to boot! The hotel is a great value, and the staff was wonderful.

Very spacious rooms. It doesn’t feel like a hotel, you get a fully functional apartment if you pick one of the suites which is nice. Very quiet, no thru foot traffic noise. Great staff, everyone was very nice and it’s connected to a restaurant.

The staff was excellent. they helped us out with an umbrella when it rained, generous with their time and took our luggage up to the 3rd floor for us. There were a lot of small details that made our stay wonderful. The breakfast was amazing and our room was clean and spacious.

So close to all the important sites while at the same time historic itself. Our room was large and comfortable with a good bed and lovely sheets. Shower slippery and tiles could have used a good cleaning. Shower nweds a mat.

This is a lovingly maintained historic hotel! The room was spotless, the bed was super-comfortable and the noise level is very low. Also, the water pressure is great and we loved the heated towel rack! Also, thank you so much to Jim at the front desk - he was awesome and so nice and friendly!

Beautiful boutique hotel that keeps its historic charm. Large room, comfortable bed. Continental breakfast was fresh with lots of choices. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. If you have a hard time with stairs, make sure you book a first floor room are no elevators. Restaurant was very good and super convenient. Washington square is steps away and you can walk to many attractions.

Highly recommend this Hotel!! My standards are extremely high ! They met every one of my marks! Very very clean and well put together!! The bed was very soft and the pillows were abundant! The water was extremely hot and it’s pretty quiet in the room minus the vibration of the subway underfoot. The breakfast was cute! Muffins, coffee cake, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit, English muffins, an assortment of Tea plenty of hot water and coffee and a few other things. All of the staff is very attentive! They offered to help us with our bags which was not necessary but we were thankful! Parking is across from the hotel and it was $48 for 24 hours. It was a very easy and beautiful experience! Highly recommend!

When we arrived, someone else had signed for our room and it had been given to them. The paper that had been signed had my name on it but someone else’s signature. I am unsure how this was able to happen when two forms of identification are needed to check in. They were unable to reassure me as to the security of my information. However, they did provide us with an upgraded room, which was a process that took about a half an hour while we were made to wait in the lobby until after 11pm. I didn’t feel like the proprietor really took much responsibility for their mistake, or for making us wait, and their tone toward us made us feel somewhat unwelcome. With all the other options for accommodations in Philly, I would not stay here again.

An historic hotel in a perfect location for exploring and enjoying the old city. I seldom take time to write a review but I truly enjoyed my time at Morris House! The management and staff were all helpful and friendly; all remembering my name during the stay. Jerry at the front desk knows so much about the city its history and very welcoming. The hotel was clean. I very much look forward to staying agian.

The Morris House Hotel is a gem in Philadelphia. It's rich with history, and you will feel like you stepped into the late 1700s when you are here, but with the amenities of the 21st century. Jerry and Alejandro made us feel at home. Their continental breakfast is sufficient to fuel for the day, complete with coffee, tea, milk, juice, yogurt, muffins, oatmeal, and boiled eggs. Perhaps one of the greatest benefits is that it's walking distance from the Independence Historic Park area, which was the main reason for our visit to Philly. The rooms are large with ample space. I called ahead to request a welcome gift for my husband for his birthday, and Jerry exceeded my expectations with a beautiful cheese tray. We are very happy and hope to return soon.

They are not aware of the contents of the text of their automated arrival communications, provided by links in their emails. On checkour . I had a lengthy conversation their desk person, but later the same person called and were unaware I had checked out over two hours earlier. Please do not charge me the $250 late checkout fee. Since I dropped off my key with a human being and left at 9:30am.

Loved staying in a historic old building filled with antiques. Courtyard garden is a beautiful peaceful escape from city outside. Staff is top notch. Continental breakfast was plentiful with fresh baked goods. Homemade afternoon cookies were delicious. Location and room rate can’t be beat. Restaurant has an amazing brunch. Only thing that could enhance the experience would be a historical tour of the home and a made to order hot breakfast.

My husband and I had stayed in Philadelphia before, but our experiences were just average. Our recent stay at the Morris House, however, was exceptional! From the moment we stepped through the gates and were greeted by Jerry (who is absolutely awesome, by the way), we knew we were in for a special experience. Everything about our stay was exceptional, from the delicious morning breakfast to the delightful afternoon tea time. The attention to detail and the warm hospitality truly made a difference. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Philly. We're already looking forward to coming back!
