Forsyth Park Inn

We loved our stay at this beautiful historic inn. It is in a lovely neighborhood not far from the river walk, restaurants and shopping and is directly across from Forsyth Park. The staff were wonderful! We were provided appetizers and wine in the afternoon as well as desserts in the evening and the plated breakfast was delicious. We will definitely stay here again.

Beautiful old home with 12ft ceilings. Our room was huge, with 2 sitting areas and a fireplace. Comfortable bed and original bath with high water tank above commode. Wonderful atmosphere. Delicious breakfast served in parlor or out on porch overlooking park. Great location with free city bus stop right out front that can take you downtown. Easy free parking on side street. Popular wedding site in courtyard.

We loved our stay here. Duane, the consierge was fantastic! The inn is across the street from Forsythe park and within walking distance of some good restaurants. There is a bus stop for the free shuttle out front and if you do the Hop On/Off tour the stop is a short walk across the park. Breakfast was spectacular. The porch and courtyard were great places to sit and relax. If you like Victorian decor you will love this place.

Great historic Inn located across the street from beautiful Forsyth Park. Inn was beautifully decorated inside and out. Room was small, but comfortable. Nice linens and strong shower ticked all the boxes. All staff we encountered were welcoming and helpful. In addition to a hot breakfast, the Innkeeper went the extra step of offering a happy hour at 5:00 and a dessert later in the evening. Parking is on-street but we had no difficulty finding a spot right by the Inn. Savannah is such a great walking city, we never moved our car till we departed.

We liked the Staff, friendly, helpful. House located adjacent to Forsythe Park, Free DOT shuttle stops in front of House. You are never more than a mile from Old Town Historic District. Old Savannah Trolly will pick you up and bring you back. We never used our car the whole stay, park it and forget it, be sure not to overnight park on Street Cleaning day, you may have to move your vehicle to a different street..

Situated across from the lovely Forsyth Park we found this to be the perfect place to stay whilst exploring the city. The inn was a great place to relax at the end of the day and the breakfasts were wonderful. We loved chilling on the veranda with complimentary wine and small bites from 5-6pm - the perfect way to recharge before heading out for the evening.

Perfection! Location, staff, food, set up for am coffee and porch to rock on was wonderful. Chef, awsome breakfast! Across the street from beautiful Forsyth Park. Rooms are beautiful. Will see them next year. Thanks guys!

Breakfast was excellent! No elevator, we had heavy luggage, no parking, we had to park in the street. Room very small, bed linen and sheets clean but looked old.

This is a great hotel next to the park. We loved the veranda for breakfast, happy hour, and dessert. We will definitely be back.

Seriously, the only thing that would have made the stay more enjoyable would be a soap dish in the tub shower. Also, if you don't like carrying your luggage up 3 flights of stairs, ask for a lower level room. The best part of the stay was drinking morning coffee while sitting on a rocking chair on the front porch overlooking Forsyth Park. Advise against staying on Tuesday night when you may have to move your car at 8pm so the city can sweep that side of the street. Really only an issue during unfavorable weather conditions. The wine and hors d'oeuvre hour and the breakfast were enjoyable as well. The staff are very friendly and want you to enjoy your stay. The best walking path to the river is Bull St, no doubt.

Beautiful house and accommodations. Room was beautiful, spotless and quiet. Lovely happy hour, dessert time, and delicious breakfast.

Duane the Manager was so helpful and attentive. Our room was so comfortable and clean.

We stayed in Room 11 and it had so many problems! It’s in the basement (not the first floor) down very narrow steep steps hard for me to navigate but even harder for my elderly aunt, the room had multiple steps, lots of furniture that made it very difficult to navigate around the beds, beds are so high my aunt needed a step stool, a brick floor under the beds is very uneven with a rug that is a tripping hazard. There was a separate exit to the outside that required going over multiple steps that aren’t in good shape and two doors to an alleyway to get to the courtyard, there’s mold on the sitting room ceiling, there’s a broken ceramic shower handle with sharp edges, very old fashioned faucets with the cold one being almost impossible to turn, the towel rack was so shabbily put together that the rod fell down, and the breakfasts were awful. One example out of four: Eggs Benedict was hard boiled w/runny sauce and RAW English muffin. We were booked in a room on main level for our fourth night and staff was able to move us to that room a day earlier. That room was much better. The staff tried their best to be accommodating and even admitted that the room had been in dire need to renovation. When I checked out, I expected to be offered some compensation for the subpar two nights in the basement. None was forthcoming just, “I’m glad it worked out that we could switch your room.” The inn is beautiful, in a great location, has potential but is definitely not worth the money!

We stayed at the Forsyth Inn for one night while in town for a baby shower on Skidaway Island, and it was a lovely experience. The cottage was peaceful and cozy, tucked just off the courtyard and directly across from beautiful Forsyth Park. We enjoyed afternoon and evening strolls, and ended the night with complimentary tea and dessert in the parlor—a really thoughtful touch! I was traveling with my 9.5-year-old Doberman, a trained psychiatric service animal, and the staff was incredibly welcoming and respectful. They always asked before greeting him and made sure he felt just as at home—inviting him into the parlor and even out on the front porch overlooking the park. While we did notice a few minor housekeeping details (some dust/debris under the bed, a few strands of hair in the shower, and a visible bug trap with a dead palmetto bug stuck), none of it was a major concern—especially since traps like that are necessary and expected in historic, ground-level properties in the South. We really appreciated how quickly the staff resolved a water pressure issue while we were out to dinner, and overall, we truly enjoyed our stay. We’d absolutely return for a longer visit next time we’re in Savannah!

The staff was very courteous and helpful. Very welcoming and accommodating. The room was very spacious and clean.

The room was beautiful, but not clean, I know it’s old but should still b an e clean. The windows sills had a lot of dust and someone’s fingernail clippings on it. There was also bobby-pins in the the carpet Mold in the fins of the A/C. The bathroom had mold under the jets in the tub and along the tile in shower.

Staff super friendly and our room was clean and quiet. The breakfast was delicious. Also parking on the street was nice and free.

I had a great stay at this beautiful inn. The staff were amazing, they themselves are like a family and they were so friendly and helpful. The porch and dining room oozes with true southern charm. The courtyard for reading was awesome. I stayed in the cottage which was so cute. It could do with a deep clean and some updating from wear and tear but the place was just so charming it was barely noted. It is a short walk away from all the hub-ub and Savannah is a beautiful city.

It was a mid range bed and breakfast experience. 5 star Staff was super friendly. Room was ok. I would suggest a little more cleaning especially the cobwebs on the high ceilings. And add a full length mirror in the room. I wasn’t able to look at my outfit before going out to dinner. I had to get my husband to take a picture of me to look at myself. Also better breakfast and snacks are recommended. Very old and stale cookies and muffins were served. We were very surprised this BNB was rated #2 on trip advisor. Not a five star experience other than the nice staff. And the house is beautiful but it needs some TLC. Our experience in Savannah was beautiful. The Bed and breakfast is close to town so the walking was nice. We took an Uber when it was time to go to downtown for dinner. Walking to downtown in heels isn’t recommended.

Yes. Breakfast was freshly made each morning. It was a specified menu for the day but they also had a small continental style offering to choose from if in a hurry. Room was very clean. Very tall ceilings and the room was spacious. Antique furnishings and decor made it feel cozy.

This was a beautiful property right across the street from Forsyth Park. We had the Ogelthorpe Room which had a bay window that faced the park on the second floor. This room is very large with a sitting area. Parking on the street was convenient. The breakfast was exceptional with banana stuffed french toast and sausage - staff both at check in and the next day were extremely helpful and nice. Plan to go back and stay here again!

Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the inn. The old home is stunning inside with its grand staircase, large windows, massive wood doors & well-appointed rooms. We had an amazing breakfast out on the porch facing Forsyth Park in August & it was lovely. I like that they scheduled breakfast times. Very organized. My only complaints are that they kept running out of creamer, the front door & our bathroom door stuck real bad due to humidity (not sure there’s anything to be done for that) & we both found our bed to be a little on the hard side & pillows flat so we didn’t have the best sleep. That being said, everyone was very friendly & attentive. We were able to walk to dinner and really enjoyed the area. Also, don’t be shocked…the big Forsyth Fountain is not currently at the park as it has been removed for renovation. Looking for something to do? The Hop On/Hop Off bus tour was fun & informative. Just 90 minutes if you don’t hop off.

Complete authentic Savannah houses experience. Internet is weak in many areas of the house. I think it is easily be fixed. Otherwise, everything is perfect.

The staff were nice and pleasant. The only issue we had was that our room was on the bottom floor and extra humid even with the humidifier. We finally were able to get the air the way we wanted it but I think we would have been happier with a higher up room. The staff was cordial and accommodating! The room itself was large and spacious too. Very clean!

Wonderful! Beautiful BnB. Great location. Our room was small but we had everything we needed. Bonus: we had our own balcony!

Loved staying here in the Taylor room. It was convenient on the first floor and had a great view of Forsyth Park. However, the front porch was right outside the front window of the room and we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. So close to the sitting room where breakfast was served each morning, you could hear the set-up each morning. Even so, we had a great experience. Savannah is very walkable and we didn't end up driving anywhere.

Beautiful building with lots of character, nice location, there is a huge park across the road, great for that morning walk! The breakfast room was very nice, great coffee, and a fabulous breakfast. We had room 9, it is nicely furnished and overlooks the park. Unfortunately you can hear a lot of street traffic in this room, we would not recommend booking that room because of the noise.

Everything would have received five stars but..... The bed was horrible. It sagged so much in the middle that my wife and I couldn't have stayed there a third night. Luckily, we only booked two nights. But everything else and everyone there was terrific!!

Beautiful Victorian era Bed and Breakfast! Staff were what put our experience over the top! We highly recommend!

The staff was incredible! Dwayne was so personable and just lit up every room he entered! We got to know all of the front desk employees and they all made us feel valued and appreciated. The atmosphere they all cultivated was quaint and charming and peaceful! I’ve never been stayed some place where the entire working staff was amazing! Worth every penny!

The best part was very nice free breakfast every morning, 5 pm wine, 6 pm snack, 7 pm dessert. Very nice. The TERRIBLE part was when checking out, desk person made me sign a piece of paper and I asked why because in all the years I’ve checked out of a hotel have never been asked to sign a piece of paper which he said was to prove I was here. Then he pointed out where to leave a TIP for my stay!! I left the hotel feeling very awful, being conned, hustled.

I loved the old world charm & the decor. The breakfast & dessert nacks were delicious. The staff were awesome (Gary & Dwayne). The room was very clean & nicely decorated. What I did not like was the noise that you can hear (beautiful tall windows but not sound proof). I also was a little uncomfortable being asked if I wanted to leave a tip after check out. This was totally new & so unsure so I declined. Not because the staff was not great, just caught me off guard. Perhaps some pre warning recommendations somewhere.

I can’t say enough about Forsyth Park Inn. The stay was exceptional. The federal manager, Dwayne, and all the workers make you feel like family. They elevate the experience. Rooms were very comfortable and the attention to detail in the house is amazing. They thought of everything. The food is a great introduction to southern food; they stayed true to the experience while also providing options for those with other dietary needs. The evening dessert is a nice touch after a long day. Again, the best part was chatting with Dwayne to learn about local history as well as his recommendations for activities and dining.

What makes this place special is the staff working at the Inn. The two managers at the front desk are friendly, personal, having good knowledge and knowing the history about the town and the neighborhood. The chef prepared the four breakfast we had there without any repetition. We would definitely return in the upcoming years!

This was truly the most welcoming experience I have ever had. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. If I make my way back to Savannah, l will only stay here!

We just spent two nights at Forsyth Park Inn and just loved it! We received a warm welcome and all the staff was friendly and professional. Our main host, Dwayne, was just wonderful. The place is very nicely furnished, super cozy, with nice bedding, good shower pressure, a nice porch where enjoyed people-watching. The home-cooked breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the happy hour spread. This was our first time in Savannah and we felt welcome everywhere we went. We highly recommend a stay at the Forsyth Park Inn!

An absolutely beautiful property within walking distance of everything in the historical district. The Inn is unique in its beautiful historic preservation but what stands out the most is the feeling you get from the staff when you walk through those doors. Libby, Gary and Dwayne could not have done more to welcome us and assist with any needs we had. From breakfast on the front porch to cocktail hour to arranging cab rides they were accommodating, friendly and made us feel we were home with family. So glad we chose this Inn! Our five night stay was nothing less than amazing!

The historic home was beautiful and the opportunity to sit on the front porch and watch the activity in and the beauty of Forsyth Park. The location is perfect for a quiet relaxing stay while still walking distance to all the wonderful shops and restaurants that Savannah has to offer.

Excellent stay at this inn in April for a weekend in Savannah. Right across from Forsyth Park near the fountain. Walking distance to all the attractions and restaurants. Service including the made to order breakfasts was excellent. The staff was very helpful with directions and reservations. Highly recommended and we will stay here next time we visit.

We loved staying at the Forsyth Park Inn. We booked room 1. There was some street noise at night, but nothing that I needed earplugs for. It seemed a quiet street for the most part. I slept all night with no interruptions. Location is convenient! The DOT free bus stops right outside the house. It’s also an easy and slightly lengthy walk down to River Street from the Inn. The park is lovely with lots of families and couples enjoying the sun. We did encounter a few homeless there, but they were courteous. I liked the location and wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Parking was always easy to find right outside the house. Breakfasts were delicious and more than I could eat! Water, coffee, and iced tea provided 24 hrs. Appetizers, wine and dessert each evening. Staff were all friendly, happy and helpful!! Room was spotless! Bed comfy. Really a darling old mansion and we would recommend staying here for a quiet relaxing retreat!

Excellent location along Forsyth Park. Great for a morning walk! There is free transport pickup right outside as well. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast is excellent. Rooms are very nicely appointed with decor and the beds are comfortable. Quiet sleeping as the Inn is in a residential neighborhood. Safe, too.

Absolutely wonderful stay for 3 nights for a mother-daughter trip! I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast. Beautiful historic building with charming furniture in the parlor and rooms. Delicious full breakfast each morning and the menu changes daily. Easy to walk to local restaurants and sites, but also easy to hop on/off the local DOT shuttle bus. Hotel is located directly across from gorgeous Forsyth Park. Staff very friendly and helpful.

No doubt, authentic and historic was evident throughout. Regretfully, I found our room (7) to be in need of a redo. Fabrics and colors were dingy and old and quite “heavy” in appearance. The style and size of the room was impressive. However, it was tired looking and although not dirty, it didn’t feel fresh. The bathroom claw foot tub was sweet to look at but unsafe to shower in. There was no place for one’s soap and the base of the tub was slippery. I particularly am drawn to charming Bed and breakfasts. A year ago, I stayed at the Bellwether in Savannah. It, too, is an old building however, it was fresh. Breakfast here was rather basic. Scrambled eggs and grits and a fruit cup and biscuit. Generally, breakfasts at B & B’s are impressive. The location was wonderful. It sits on a corner across the street from Savannah’s largest park. The people working there were very polite, welcoming and nice.

This place is exceptional! The staff was amazing and so helpful and kind. Breakfast was wonderful. Wine and snacks at night were a warm friendly touch. I would never stay anywhere else. Highly highly recommended.

The location is ideal for casual walking and visiting Savannah. The cook is creative and the breakfasts and happy hour snacks were good.

OMG!! That about sums it all up. This place was great. The room (#10 Telfair) was spacious and so was the bathroom. Despite at first being a little taken aback because the room was on the lower level of the main house, it was a very nice room. The staff, and I mean the whole entire staff, was amazing. Special shout out to Dwayne and Gary for all of their recommendations for places to dine and things to do. The staff made it seem as if a family was running the place. Now the food! You will not go hungry at all at the Forsyth Park Inn. You get a full breakfast every morning cooked with your dietary needs. They have great hordervers with wine coffee and tea in the early evening. Then they give you a delicious dessert at night. Each day it was something different and made on site by the staff. The view is great. It’s right across the street from the famous Forsyth Park. You can see the fountain right from the porch of the Inn. It is only about a mile or less from the river, shops and loads of dining options. When and if I return to Savannah I will most definitely return to this place. I am telling all of my family and friends about this Inn. I just fear the more I brag about it the busier it will get and I may not be able to book a room the next time I’m in Savannah. Hmm.

This was our second time staying here! Excellent! Friendly and the bed was super comfy. Breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed the wine social in the afternoon!

This is a beautiful property, the staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was exceptionally good. It is an older home though, with some old home problems, the doors stuck and the water pressure was bad. If you don’t mind old home problems then this place is amazing!!
