The location is good and close to many sights. It's a cheap stay which obviously is the point, however rooms are quite run down and there was mold and damp on the ceiling, that was so close to me as I was lucky to get the top bunk. Breakfast was basic, but overall good. Staff was helpful, especially the younger boy serving the breakfast buffet.

The place has definitely gone way downhill since I stayed there many years back. My bed had a broken bar under watch. Not only made it very uncomfortable as the mattress sagged in the middle bus also made a crazy loud noise whenever it caught on the other bars. When I told them about it the receptionist seems to take ages to process and said I'd need to report it in the morning so the housekeeping team could clean a bed for me and I'd just have to stay in the broken bed. I asked again if I was understanding them right. Eventually after an elongated period looking at the computer she finally said I could move to the bunk above me on the same bed. Even basic amenities you'd expect from a hostel aren't there. They charge to hold you luggage even when you're staying there, but also have many rooms up long winding old staircases and don't tell you beforehand what floor you'll be on. Bought a ready meal for a quick dinner one night and ended up eating it cold since they appare fly only have a microwave out at certain times. They don't even have a kettle or fridge available. Basically the only good things about it are the price and location, everything else just seems to have been left to decline to save money.
