Parking spaces were small, room was hot and no screens or ventilation. Toliet and bathroom were very small.

The property was nice. We felt safe and some shops were close by. I would have given them a perfect rating except I took an ice cold shower 2 days in a row. We had the end handicap unit and there was no earthly way to warm that water up. Our friends in the next unit had no problem.

Front desk clerk very nice, no elevator, constant doors slamming from other guests till about 11 pm, no air conditioning, beds comfortable, if u just need a place to sleep this works. Half mile walk to the docks and the major marine tour.

Our shower would not come on in the morning and we reported it to the front desk, she said she would call a plumber. We asked to be moved to another room so we could shower before our tour and she said there were no rooms. The plumber showed up, said it couldn't be fixed and we would be moved to another room. So the clerk lied and we didn't get to shower. We were moved after the tour. Also the water was extremely hot and had to run for almost 5 min to get usable. When we were leaving another patron was in the office because his shower didn't work. I would not recommend with hotel

The property exterior appearance with the 1- foot- tall lawn, cigarette butts and overall untidiness was nothing like the picture in their ad. Our unit was large with a small stove top. The burners were showing extreme age...and...there was food from a previous renter on the burners. After we went to dinner at a restaurant down the street we began to settle in for a good night\'s sleep. During our "before sleep" wash-up, we learned that there was no hot water in the unit at all. Just "glacier cold" water. This was 8:30PM. At 8:40 PM I walked to the office and told the attendant. Office hours end at 9PM. The attendant told me she was contacting maintenance...a repairman arrived at 10PM...could not resolve the hot water issue and left us with no one to talk to in the office about transferring to a unit with hot water....an option the desk clerk never brought up. I don\'t know the occupancy situation, but the parking lot was less than half full. Morning came...we did have a good sleep. I washed my hair in water so cold it caused ice "chips" to form when it contacted my scalp. Even though the time was within open office hours nobody came to the front desk when I rang the bell for service. I returned an hour later with staff present and asked for a refund...expecting a counter offer and apology. The clerk told me she had to refer the matter to her manager...took my phone number and expressed her sympathy. To date... no call from her manager. Would rate "0" if I could.

No hot water

Sink water was very hot. There was no cold water to sink. Otherwise would certainly stay here next time visiting to Seward

There was no hot water initially. WiFi service was very bad. Most of the time did not work.

Lots of issues regarding the safety and condition of these rooms. The rooms had sliding glass doors with no screens to let in the air from outside. We were on the main level with access to a shared deck facing a busy street with many pedestrians. The water in one of the units only had hot water coming to both the hot and cold lines to the sink. The shower water would jump from hot to cold water unpredictably which wasn’t good for showering. The final straw was discovering an active hornets nest next to the only parking spot available. This is not a hotel, more a motel that is run down and needs updating for security and comfort.

Toilets not functional. No soap or shampoo in room. When my toilet clogged, i was handed a plunger 😂

Old carpet with duct tape at seam. Shower curtain missing hooks. Wall half painted in gloss and half flat. Kind of a creepy place.

This place is a filtgy dump. Nasty carpet, sheets not clean used by previous guests, lady at front desk had to change sheets for us. Bathroom had piss and mold all around the toilet and tub lady from the front had to clean for us very nasty and dirty hotel but it was our only option in town. Much better options in the area so make sure you book early. The front desk was very nice nice and pleasant. That’s the only thing they got going for them. She is such a sweetie.

The Motel location is ideal to reach downtown or cruise terminal. All staffs including front desk and housekeeping are very nice and helpful. However, the motel's condition is terribly unclean in bathroom and disgusting bedding.

There was past tenant hair in the restrooms and covering the linens. Staff was nice, but accomodations need to attention.

There was dirty towels in the room, rubbish under the bed. We were checked into the wrong room and had to move after unpacking.

Very old, run down, property. Hole in bathroom ceiling. Torn screen door. This place is in a good spot, but definitely needs updated and cleaned better.

Carpet was held down with duct tape and packing tape, tub/shower had mildew in the walls and around the tub, tub was very slow to drain, carpet was dirty, box springs should have been covered with a sheet, door mats were old, planters were empty, had to get an extension cord to plug in one of the lamps, one lamp did now work, outdoor chairs were dirty and view of the ocean was blocked by overgrown bushes. So much potential with some deep cleaning, paint, floor covering replacement

Our first room had damage to the walls, peeling paint and smelled of mildew. Later we discovered the carpet by the bed was wet, likely leaking through the wall from the shower? They were able to move us to another room with a view of the mountains, which was a treat.

It seems they do not own a vacuum and something in the bathroom was always leaking water. Even after asking for our room to be re cleaned it was no better. Great location but a very dirty hotel room. Carpeting and bathroom were disgusting.

We were disappointed in the room it was small and cramped

Only one sheet on each bed. Plenty of nice towels,one hand towel, no wash cloth. Need to do something about sound from upstairs room. The individual was not noisy but I heard every footstep, and he dropped his boots, etc

Great views

It was last minute decision to go to Seward for couple of days - not many options are available. We booked Murphy's. Overall, it was ok for the short notice and the price we paid. Room was pretty tiny. Parking lot is quite small - getting in on a truck with kayaks with multiple cars already in - was a bit of a challenge. Was ok when it was empty. Major concern was a not thoroughly cleaned bathroom and leftover food in the fridge. Stuff was friendly.

Murphy's is a motel that serves its purpose. Rooms are small with a balcony that overlooks the bay and an RV park. The location is great with access to the docks and downtown area. Biggest issue for us was the warm summer and no A/C. Unfortunately the wind was blowing on our door side with no windows and leaving the balcony open did little to help with airflow. Service was responsive and helpful.

Our room was dated (furnishing wise) but was very clean with a comfy bed. It had a very small balcony that overlooked the water and mountains which was perfect for watching and photographing sunset! No breakfast but coffee and tea are always available in the front office.

We were able to open balcony door and room door for a great cross breeze that made the room comfortable. Beautiful view and within walking distance to both downtown and the harbor.

Front desk staff were AMAZING!!!! Today was my birthday & they got me birthday muffins! Such kind & sweet people!!

Great customer service!

The service was excellent! They let you keep your luggage there until it is time to check in. And they let us keep our luggage there until we boardedbour ship. I would stay here again.

This was a mixed stay. The staff was friendly, but not particularly committed to customer service. They had a "student doing a summer job" kind of vibe. Some things were very good. The towels were really soft.The beds were quite comfortable.The toilet paper and tissues were top quality. But our room (107) needed maintenance. The bathroom exhaust fan didn\'t work, the toilet handle fell off when flushed, the towel rack by the sink was missing (the brackets are on the walll, but no bar), there is a significant gap under the door, and the plug for the clock by the bed turns off when the wall switch is toggled (so the clock turns off and resets to12:00 when turned back on). And there is a coffee maker in the lobby. It worked on Wednesday morning but not on Thursday.

The staff was amazing! Outstanding customer services! One night we got to stay in one room, tue conditions weren't the best, but the second night we got moved to a much bigger and better room! I definitely recommend it. Thanks to the amazing staff for making it a great stay for us.

The room was nice, but we were checking in late and they were supposed to hide a key for us. They didn’t. So I had to bug the poor people who live there to check us in. It’s not the fault of the employees. It’s the fault of the hospitality company that answers the phone. Not fun after 12 hours of traveling.

The manager is so accommodating, cheerful, and kind, no matter the time of the day or night. She was the best part.

No water in bathroom when we arrived so they gave us another room. I left my AirPods in the hotel and have not been able to locate any hotel staff to try and locate them. There is no direct phone number to the hotel. You have to call the Seward Hospitality Group, which owns a bunch of hotels including this one, but they never get back to you , and then don’t pick up when you call them back ( I called them multiple times). The place seems sketch and shady.

We found the team employee who checked us in via phone was very helpful. We originally had a third floor room and we needed a second floor or first level room and the employee helped us with that request. The room was large and clean. I would highly recommend this hotel and the attached restaurant has very good food.
