I had a great experience with this hotel. I made a special request for a non-ground floor room, and immediately got an email confirming they would put me on the second floor. When I checked in they confirmed they were putting me on the second floor due to my request. Check in was super fast, the receptionist was friendly and answered all my questions. The room was reasonably spacious, with a small desk, hangers, sofa, and comfortable bed and pillows. Bathroom was nice and clean and contained soap, body wash and shampoo, and a cup for the sink. Bedside lighting was comfortably dim, unlike many other places. Used the ironing room to iron my shirt in the morning, which was an unexpected bonus. Breakfast included eggs, bacon, hashed browns, break for toasting, baked beans, cereals, milk and yogurt, juices, coffe/tea/hot chocolate, and some mini pastries. Decor throughout was nice, with themes of diamonds and blue. Perhaps not the most modern, but a very nice experience, especially considering the price. Only complaints are lack of plugs near the bed, and that the fence around the hotel means walking from nearby bus stops is a little awkward.

Hotel was amazing for the money.only bad thing was no aircon/fan in bedroom but u could hire a fan but thought this should be free. Stayed two night and room was cleaned and coffee/tea replenished.Great value for money.

Everything satisfactory, needed an overnight stay and it fitted our needs. Complimentary breakfast was fine. Room had everything we needed. Staff were friendly. Only complaint is the charge for parking when the hotel website stated it was free.

Staff friendly & helpful, they went the extra mile in sorting out car park, vending machine, making a stay much more enjoyable. No Aircon throughout hotel a tad uncomfortable on the hottest day. No where to eat with in walking distance of the hotel .

The whole hotel was very tired looking, the lift didn't work and we were told it had been like that for months, not very good for first or second floor rooms. The rooms themselves were also very tired.

Expedia needs to update their website as there is no restaurant on site, other than for breakfast. It does have a vending machine with microwave meals (and various microwaves to cook them), but the machine doesn’t know when it’s run out of items. There’s nowhere really near the hotel to go out to without a taxi if you’re not driving. Breakfast was really good, bed was comfortable and the room was clean, although it smelt a bit musty. The best thing about diamond lodge is the staff - the person on reception on our arrival date was so helpful, booking us a taxi to get to the event we were in Manchester for, and would have spent time fixing the tv for us if we’d needed it, and arranging a refund for the vending machine payment for a meal which didn’t appear - whilst they were also answering the phone, checking people in and running the bar by themselves. They really are a credit to the hotel and deserve a bonus or a pay rise!

The room itself was clean but noisy as it faced the main road. The worst was the bathroom. It was so disgusting that I couldn't bear to have a shower or even touch the bathtub! We paid £158 for 2 nights and were horrified. For the cost of one nights stay they could easily afford to regroup the tiles and clean whatever the indescribable muck everywhere! Inexcusable for what they charged. In my younger day, student hostels were cleaner than this. Shame shame shame! 2 stars were for the staff , parking and lobby. Would have given them no stars otherwise

The room was full of dust and plug sockets dangling off wall half painted door frames bath dirty and bathroom floor was aswel breakfast was a joke food only cooked on one side toast was okay but that’s only because cooked myself holes in walls front door left unlocked all night with no staff on reception smashed windows and what looked like bullet holes in walls I will not be staying there again I think it is Disgusting for the £95 it cost me

Rooms were very basic and only surface clean. Could do with a deep clean as felt slightly grubby. Bathroom tiles had mould and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in a while. At check in staff were lovely and efficient. No food served at all apart from dodgy looking vending machines selling hot food....no thanks. Noise from other residents was a major issue. On going to bed people in nearby room were shouting and playing loud music. We managed to get to sleep but were wakened at 5.30am with these same people shouting, arguing and swearing. This went on for a couple of hours and nothing was done. Breakfast was very basic and not great quality. Sausages were really spicy and bacon and eggs totally overcooked so really unappetising unfortunately. Ok for 1 night as we were in Manchester for a show but definitely wouldn't recommend or return. Staff were lovely and I'd say they are the only positive comments I can make.

A great value option in Manchester and a property that provides good accommodation at a fair price and doesn't take advantage of match goers with outrageous prices like many other hotels. Staff were friendly, room was clean with a large flat screen TV and nicely decorated with comfortable bedding, tea and coffee facilities and all essentials. Cleanliness is an issue and this property needs to be appreciated for the value it offers with a willingness to overlook some things i.e. Bathrooms need a bit of attention (missing fixtures/covers with dirt obvious) , general lack of care for the property makes it look run down , grass not cut , signage upside down , musty smell , dirty plates at breakfast etc.. This place is clearly operating on a shoestring budget which is not surprising given their budget rates. However , there was nothing that would prevent me returning when keeping the price vs expectations in mind. Breakfast itself was nice. If you are on a budget and expect decent lodgings for an overnight in Manchester without expecting too much then this place won't let you down. Regular and frequent options for transport to the city centre are at the doorstep.

Diamond lodge isn’t in the most desirable areas, it is close to stadiums, staff were welcoming, room had dirt and towels with marks on them, hairs in multiple places. Corridors and rooms are not very well decorated for the money we paid, bathroom very old and needs modernising, rooms are paper thin and could hear all from neighbouring rooms and upstairs, didn’t sleep well due to this. Breakfast was good. I wouldn’t stay again due to lack of sleep and high premium they charge for this

Good size room. Swift check in and free parking as we booked before April. Room was quite noisy as on the road side and very light throughout, so not the best for a good nights sleep. Breakfast was ok, could have done with being warmer, no staff on hand to request anything. 25 mins from Jet Park 3. Good for the price we paid

The rooms weren't awful, but that's about the only positive. Corridors smelt of w**d, loud banging coming from people outside rooms, woken at 3am by the person upstairs stomping around, slamming things and screaming at someone.

Perfect for what we needed, a place to sleep after the Co-Op Live Springsteen gig. I have one BIG criticism……..the poor night receptionist was left completely on his own handling the front desk AND serving drinks in the bar to returning gig guests!! Poor staff management I feel, given that most of your guests on 14/5/25 were attending the concert & returned hoping for a drink. Considering how lucrative this night was for you, it was very unfair not to have at least 1 other staff member on duty to help him! All things considered, he did a great job!! 👏👏

Not as described, room was very old and dated decor. Poor customer service, ended up leaving as didn’t get the room or service we should have been provided. Staff are rude, not very helpful and don’t want any more contact with me as they won’t issue a refund even though I was told I would receive one!

We were made welcome as soon as we arrived. Staff were very helpful at reception and at breakfast in the morning. They had a lot of patience as hotel was full for Paul McCartney concert. Room was good. Bar and reception need more staff later on after a concert like this

The hotel is located at a very convenient location and allows easy access to other parts of the city. The on-site parking came in really handy. Nice and quiet room.

As we were only there for one evening it was ok, however the cleanliness of the facilities wasn’t great, there was no where to get food, it claims to be 5 minute drive from the Co-op live arena and a 15 minute walk but this is more like 45-50 mins. It was ok to use as somewhere to sleep but I wouldn’t stay there again.

Good value stay - clean room, friendly staff. Free parking and breakfast (help yourself buffet) included. Only 1.9 miles to the 02 Arena (reason for the stay). Would definitely stay again.

WHAT WAS GOOD: Well located, less than 5 minutes from the motorway. Added bonus of having its own car park. Good sized room. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. Great shower. Very reasonably priced. WHAT WAS NOT SO GOOD: On a busy main road so there is a lot of traffic noise. No air conditioning but we took our own fan so this wasn’t a problem for us. Despite the not so good issues we would stay here again.

Excellent location to visit the new Coop Live Arena (bit of a long walk home though 45min), good size car parking, easy to find, quick taxi (£8)/bus to venue - bus stop outside hotel. Friendly staff/service. Excellent self service breakfast, also vending machines available (food/drink). Room good size, comfortable, good facilities (tea/coffee, shower gel/shampoo provided) few scuff marks about - wear and tear but not too shabby. Would definitely visit again.

You need to take off the restaurant off the booking as they don’t do evening meals I had to order in a take away it’s wasn’t clear when booking. They did a good breakfast. So my stay was ok

Rooms were very basic and only surface clean. Could do with a deep clean as felt slightly grubby. Bathroom tiles had mould and looked as though they hadn't been cleaned in a while. At check in staff were lovely and efficient. No food served at all apart from dodgy looking vending machines selling hot food....no thanks. Noise from other residents was a major issue. On going to bed people in nearby room were shouting and playing loud music. We managed to get to sleep but were wakened at 5.30am with these same people shouting, arguing and swearing. This went on for a couple of hours and nothing was done. Breakfast was very basic and not great quality. Sausages were really spicy and bacon and eggs totally overcooked so really unappetising unfortunately. Ok for 1 night as we were in Manchester for a show but definitely wouldn't recommend or return. Staff were lovely and I'd say they are the only positive comments I can make.

Expedia needs to update their website as there is no restaurant on site, other than for breakfast. It does have a vending machine with microwave meals (and various microwaves to cook them), but the machine doesn’t know when it’s run out of items. There’s nowhere really near the hotel to go out to without a taxi if you’re not driving. Breakfast was really good, bed was comfortable and the room was clean, although it smelt a bit musty. The best thing about diamond lodge is the staff - the person on reception on our arrival date was so helpful, booking us a taxi to get to the event we were in Manchester for, and would have spent time fixing the tv for us if we’d needed it, and arranging a refund for the vending machine payment for a meal which didn’t appear - whilst they were also answering the phone, checking people in and running the bar by themselves. They really are a credit to the hotel and deserve a bonus or a pay rise!

Start to finish our stay at this place was so good, staff good & professional, respondive too, our room great, clean, with a bath too, breakfast really good both mornings, and freedom to come & go without restriction of doors. Woild highly recommend 👌

Everything was good, clean comfortable room and good breakfast included. Wasnt keen on the scrambled egg 😕 and wouldve preferred fried eggs as an option . You can catch the bus over the road for £2 to ethihad /coop live arena.
