I would highly recommend staying here. Getting a shuttle to the airport was so easy. We had to leave the hotel at 2:30am, and the driver arrived at 2:15 and carried out all our bags. There isn't much around the hotel, but there is a restaurant on the premises. It was convienent and was authentic Costa Rican food. The rooms and grounds were well kept, clean, and beautiful. Most everyone spoke English, which was helpful. The hotel is gated off, which added a layer of security. There aren't many rooms, which was a positive selling point, in my opinion.

La piscina sucia y le faltan losas, lo cual la vuelve peligrosa. Además, no indica la profundidad. Las habitaciones no tienen cortinas trasparentes lo que impide abrirlas en el día si se quiere privacidad. Tampoco hubo refrigerador como se muestra en imágenes.

Property is gated, with beautiful landscaping. Friendly staff in reception 24 hrs. I had 2 rooms, both of which had no hot water nor water pressure. One room also didn’t have air conditioning late at night. Pool water was not clear. I can hear the big trucks and motorcycles all day. The stay was not worth the price paid. Rooms were very small.

Very well maintained, pretty and peaceful property, with beautifully painted roses on outside walls. Rooms were cute and had inviting (and again peaceful) porches on each. Nice staff too. We arrived in time for dinner at their small (but reasonably priced and decent tasting) restaurant. We wished we could have spent more time here, but had to leave early the next morning to catch our plane home.

Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Room was quiet. Not that far from the airport but takes a while to get there because of the roads and traffic. They have a shuttle but they charge $26 US for a pickup from the airport. Uber was $10 US.

We loved our stay. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and had all that we needed and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a great shower in the morning and the kids had a great time in the pool. I would absolutely stay here again.

We started and ended our trip to Costa Rica at hotel La Rosa. Our rental car was dropped off to us there and picked back up there, and we used their airport shuttle service. It was so easy and convenient, and I appreciated not having to drive at the airport or in San Jose. The grounds are lovely, the staff are very nice and helpful and the meals are excellent. Will definitely return! Thanks for a wonderful and convenient stay!!

Very quiet country like Villas, secluded, secured parking. The rooms have bunk beds which increases the bed count with larger rooms that fit up to 7. The hotel is near the animal refuge and some great local restaurants, if you are driving.

We stayed one night upon arrival at this hotel. Clean, well maintained hotel. Front desk staff very helpful. I forgot my phone at the car rental counter at San Jose airport and I can’t thank James enough for all his help in calling the necessary authorities to get my phone back. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable, bathroom amenities basic. Breakfast was good.

Great place. We stayed for 1 night, quiet and clean. Breakfast is traditional eggs rice/beans and fruit. Great fir a quick snack. The water in the shower varies between hit and cold but you need to either take it early in morning or later at night . We did have ants appear but we took care of it. All and all nice cozy place for a family of 5.

My room had no towels, so I had to go ask for them the next morning. This hotel looks like it used to be a lot nicer, but it looks like the new owner is not willing to spend money, so you get the feeling like it’s not as nice as before. When I came back from a day of excursion on day 2, the room was getting invaded by aunts, so I went to ask for a can of repellent, but the attendant said none was available. She graciously switched me to an adjacent room, but once again the room had no towels, so I had to ask again. I believe the blame falls on the owners, not so much on the staff, since they appear to be willing to help, but have limited to no resources.

This is a quaint property I selected due to its close proximity to the airport. Although the furnishings are dated, they are of good quality and well maintained and the property is very clean. The rooms have AC (not needed due to excellent cross ventilation with open louvered windows), TV, and comfortable beds. I was able to sit outside reading and relaxing, surrounded by beautiful landscaping. The pool is a good size. The small restaurant has well prepared food for breakfast (included in room cost) and dinner (additional). The staff, who are all courteous, directed me to the wildlife rescue center ( about 1/2 mile down the street) which was an excellent afternoon activity where I was able to observe and read about all of the wildlife in Costa Rica. I was comfortable, well fed and safe.

Pros:hotel env is beautiful. room is clean and bed is comfortable. Cons: it has bad traffic from SJO to here. better to stay hotel near to SJO. wifi is low and disconnected from time to time. shower is leaking, water flow is low and sometimes no warm water.

Our flight was delayed so we didn’t get in until close to midnight. I called the hotel and they said no worries to ring at the gate at they would let us in. They had a nice security man who let us in and showed us to our room. Although we didn’t have a much time to enjoy the quaint and lovely hotel it was clean comfortable and beautiful place where we rested well after our 22 hour journey to Costa Rica. Our flight was delayed so we didn’t get in until close to midnight. I called the hotel and they said no worries to ring at the gate at they would let us in. They had a nice security man who let us in and showed us to our room. Although we didn’t have a much time to enjoy the quaint and lovely hotel it was clean comfortable and beautiful place where we rested well after our 22 hour journey to Costa Rica. Breakfast was plentiful; free buffet style of traditional Costa Rican food, eggs, fruits rice and beans, cereal coffee and juice. We would definitely stay here again.

We loved our stay. The staff were very friendly, the room was clean and had all that we needed and the bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water for a great shower in the morning and the kids had a great time in the pool. I would absolutely stay here again.

We arrived past midnight at SJO. The hotel arranged a shuttle to meet us at the airport and it was only $30 for six of us. When we arrived at the hotel, a security guard was waiting for us with the key and a note with the WiFI password. I really felt the hotel took care of our late arrival. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was fresh and delicious. We stayed just one night and was very happy with the hotel’s service.

The place is gorgeous and well kept. The staff are quite helpful and always kind. The breakfasts are free and very delicious with protein options. I was surprised and delighted with the cups of peanut butter. Eggs, rice and banana cake are staples. The coffee is always good and some days exceptional with fresh milk as an option. You will find that the coffee in Costa Rica is never bad like it can be other places. The housekeeper Ana was super kind and helpful, very personable. The room had fresh flowers and/or herbs, a delight. The rooms are simple but aesthetically thoughtful. I took a dip in the pool at night and it was refreshing, though cold. The grounds are exceptionally well designed and beautiful and there are many places to sit and enjoy the gardens, listen to the birds, and there is a resident cat, friendly but keeps to himself. It's a rural area, yet there are several yummy restaurants nearby and a bar. The only difficulty was getting around. It's about a 15-20 minute Uber ride to the airport. There are public buses but I didn't have time to learn the system. Driving around San José is pretty chaotic. I was glad I didn't rent a car. Next time, I would stay a night, take a bus to another part of the country, rent a car and explore from there, bus back to Alejuela, stay and return home. There is a pharmacy and a mini Mart within walking distance, as well as, the many restaurants. The walks and strolls were lovely. It is a safe quiet neighborhood. The hotel is gated.

I would highly recommend staying here. Getting a shuttle to the airport was so easy. We had to leave the hotel at 2:30am, and the driver arrived at 2:15 and carried out all our bags. There isn't much around the hotel, but there is a restaurant on the premises. It was convienent and was authentic Costa Rican food. The rooms and grounds were well kept, clean, and beautiful. Most everyone spoke English, which was helpful. The hotel is gated off, which added a layer of security. There aren't many rooms, which was a positive selling point, in my opinion.

Beautiful grounds and well maintained. Room was quiet. Not that far from the airport but takes a while to get there because of the roads and traffic. They have a shuttle but they charge $26 US for a pickup from the airport. Uber was $10 US.

Very quiet country like Villas, secluded, secured parking. The rooms have bunk beds which increases the bed count with larger rooms that fit up to 7. The hotel is near the animal refuge and some great local restaurants, if you are driving.

We stayed one night upon arrival at this hotel. Clean, well maintained hotel. Front desk staff very helpful. I forgot my phone at the car rental counter at San Jose airport and I can’t thank James enough for all his help in calling the necessary authorities to get my phone back. Rooms were clean, bed comfortable, bathroom amenities basic. Breakfast was good.

L'hôtel est bien. C'est calme. Le petit déjeuner est correct mais redondant si on y est comme nous 3 jours. Aliments chauds, oeufs brouillés et Gallo Pinto seulement. Le personnel n'est pas très souriant. Bon endroit tranquille pour y passer une seule nuit pas trop loin de l'aéroport.

Flowers and tranquility! We got in late from the airport and found everything perfect. There was a security guard on site who let us in and we found our room without any problem. There is a friendly cat and a wonderful delicious breakfast as well as delicious food if you choose to have dinner or lunch at the hotel. I will definitely be returning next time. I’m in Costa Rica.

I stayed just for 1 night and loved the lil ole casitas so full of caracter. The grounds were beautiful and I enjoyed walking around the property full of well kept plants. The food in the restaurant was good and yummy. The property is mostly well kept except the front door needed some repair to rid gaps to keep bugs out however I only seen 1 ant. I felt safe there as a solo female traveler. Lady at reception was nice as well as 2 of the male worker but my waitress wasnt all that personable. Over all good experience so yes would stay again.

Everything went well. The air conditioning worked and a buffet breakfast was available. However, I was there when a youth tour was there and they ate most of some of the dishes and additional wasn't put out until they finished breakfast so there was not much when I arrived. My bad for not asking for more. The grounds were very beautiful and quiet.
