Este hotel me gustó mucho. La cama estuvo cómoda, su desayuno, limpieza y tranquilidad. No obstante no sabía que la calle que queda justo al frente y todos los laterales estaban en construcción. Me encantaría ir un día donde todo esté abierto, donde su rooftop funcione ya que tiene buena vista y tiene un bar. Pero ni tuve suerte todo estaba cerrado y aunque el rooftop es bonito no tienes a dónde mirar porque todo es construcción. Descansé bien, desayuné de manera excelente. Una cosa importante: la bañera !!! Sólo cabe una persona y cuidado 😂 era un lugar de monjas imagino que se quedò la ducha tal cual ! Difícil coger Uber: tienes que indicar en mensaje cuál es la calle ya que casi toda esa cuadra está en construcción. El Uber pasa trabajo ya que la app lo reubica constantemente y se pierde mucho tiempo.

Only good is historic architecture at hotel. No restaurant, no bar, nothing in the hotel... if you want to sleep with fan and air conditioner that doesn't work, stay here...they gave us an option of another room second night, but air conditioner also didn't get cold... we have to take cold shower to sleep!!! never again!!!

Bel emplacement de ce petit hôtel très intimiste, très charmant, pas loin de la rue piétonne. J'avais la chambre 7,et je n'avais aucun bruit extérieur de la rue contrairement a d'autres hôtels occupés par le passé dans le secteur. Pas de coupures d'électricité, l'eau de la douche avait une bonne pression. La climatisation fonctionnait très bien, ventilateur de plafond fonctionnel. Très bon petit-déjeuner simple mais efficace avec la petite carte en français, espagnol & anglais. Par contre, un jacuzzi où un bac a punch serait le bienvenue afin de profiter de la belle terrasse. Ouvrir le petit bar de la terrasse par exemple de 18h a 22 heures serait peut-être un plus. C'est juste une idée pas une critique. A bientôt.

Schönes kleines Hotel, sehr zentral gelegen. Der Innenhof ist sehr nett gestaltet und der Eingangsbereich ist sehr gemütlich. Es gibt auch eine Dachterrasse mit vielen Sitzmöglichkeiten vorhanden.

Always enjoy staying at this unique property. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. At the moment road is still under construction but was very manageable by foot. Hotel was making upgrades to inside patio and umbrellas. Would always choose to stay there.

Primero al llegar tuvimos que caminar al hotel porque están remodelando las calles en la zona Colonial, después nos encontramos la cama llena de bichos y tuvimos que cambiarnos de cuarto a las 11 pm, el otro cuarto olía muy desagradable y nos encontramos con una cucaracha en el baño, el inodoro le hace falta una buena limpieza con ácido muriatico para quitarle el sarro, de las peores experiencias en hotel que he vivido, es una lastima porque el hotel está muy bonito y bien situado, pero con muy mala administración y mantenimiento.

Con la lluvia la habitation el 4 y 5 de julio de 2024 se inundo y el olor humedad era horrible. Solicite un reembolso de las noches del 6 al 8 de julio de 2024 pues me tuve que ir a otro hotel. El olor humedad era horrible y me produjo asma. Al dia de hoy no he recibido respuesta.

José made our stay more comfortable, as we asked to change rooms since our original room had some mold and I was having a hard time sleeping. Jose accommodated us to a different room and I slept great. It’s a really old building (like 300+ years old) so it was not surprising that there was some moisture, since Santo Domingo is so humid. The Beaterio has a fascinating history and is quite peaceful and quiet.

I loved this hotel. The style is beautiful. Courtyard was very nice. The staff were nice and breakfast was pretty good. My only complaint was that my a/c was not working in my room. I complained but they didn’t do anything about it.

Great location and history. Excellent breakfast and beautiful setting with a lovely courtyard. The shower in my room did not have a working drain. I asked for this to be fixed (showered in 4 inches of standing water and tiles was slippery from all the soap build up) but sadly it wasn't.

The location is great - the building beautiful. However my room was the closest to the kitchen and reception desk and the sound proofing almost inexistant. I coule hear all the kitchen noise from my bed. Quite unpleasant especially the bed was soooo comfy - too bad i couldnt enjoy it to the fullest

Beautiful colonial property in the city center. Quiet location, good for a couple of nights. We like staying at these small boutique style hotels, as the staff tends to interact with the guests. They ask they typical questions, where we are from, what are our plans for the day, make recommendations, etc... That never happened here. Staff did their job, but they were cold. They did their best to answer any questions we may have had, but did not engage otherwise.

El Beaterio is my Go-To hotel whenever i stay in Zona colonial. Centrally located, walk to all the main attractions in the Old town: upscale restaurant literally in the same block! Tons of other dining options, bars, nice park where locals gather in the evening right across the street. Receptionist Pierre is super friendly and nice! Shows you everything, makes sure you know where everything is, what hours breakfast is etc. Hotel itself is such a historical jewel! You feel like you enter the Time Machine: lobby, breakfast area, staircase and room itself! I’m a history buff, so i also love how they have pictures everywhere and a little history written about the old times! The only thing I’d mention is to be careful when walking up to the second floor, it’s a bit slipper on top when it rains. Maybe owners will see this review and put a rubber mat or something else there as i almost slipped and fall, especially in the evening coming back after a few drinks :) Otherwise, don’t think twice and book this hotel because you won’t find better value in the area for your money!

La experiencia fue completamente fatal a la entrada, me exigieron el pago de 50 usd como garantía de depósitos, por si algo no salía bien, comentaron que esto lo hacían solamente con la página de la reserva. Me dijeron una vez saliera se me devolvería el depósito, eso no pasó, el cargo se hizo mi tarjetaz incluso el mismo día que salí le pregunté a la mujer de la entrada me dijo que se me regresaría a las 2:00 de la tarde. Me sacaron dinero y esto no me parece para nada ético.

This is a lovely, small, historic hotel. It is also a museum. The breakfast was hearty and beautifully presented. The neighborhood is going through major restoration, but it was not noisy or inconvenient for us. We stayed there twice during our time in the DR and enjoyed both visits.
