Check in was easy, the location is great, the room was very nice but the bathroom in sight disrepair. Just be warned that parking in the area is difficult so it would be a good idea to plan ahead. There is a pay garage a block or two away though.

Consider this review with the cost of the stay. The cost was very economical; I had a room that looked clean the day I arrived. The rooms in the hotel are located in the basement. Some windows let daylight in to the sidewalk. I kept my curtains closed, so the room technically had no windows. There are no amenities in the building. The location is great. There is no daily cleaning, but you can request the staff for towels and cleaning to put the trash out. Overall in comparison with the price, the cleanliness was better than expected and if you are not planning to spend too much time in the room; you would be ok.

No parking on site. Had to park at the public parking which cost another $25 additional to hotel costs. Very dusty. Basement rooms which was not disclosed.

Great location but the facilities are underground. I had difficulty checking in as there wasn't anyone on-site but ultimately it got figured out.

While the place was clean and fairly decent this is NOT a hotel I’d say it’s more of a hostel. Shared room with shared bathroom and shower as well as communal kitchen and some room have their own bathroom. I tried reaching out to the hotel via text and email as they said and never got a reply. Good place if you’re in Montreal to party and only need a place to sleep but this is not the place for pre-drinks and order food. Lastly the rooms are not necessarily what they say they are on the website. We booked a king suite room where we could sleep up to 4 there was 3 of us and there was only a king bed with no couch as they said on the website

Pas de stationnement et le système de climatisation centrale ne permettait pas d’avoir une température plus fraîche dans la chambre que 24 degrés Celsius.

Everything was great close to everything nust a little steps away from.the main spots and restaurants, clean, but the shower door hardware is loose and coming off, its enough for my hubby and myself for a weekend getaway, no parking, parking is a block away ,2 nights for 48 canadian money, not bad

Boutique hotel. Very simple and clean but not so quiet. They have a kitchen where you can prepare "what you want" but they were missing a variety of simple products. What I don\'t understand is that during winter time, air conditioning is on and you cannot control it. If you are a cold person and need a good warm like me, this is not good at all. For the rest, it is a nice place. Staff is very nice and helpful. I want to sincerely thank them.

Hygie Hotel was perfect for us, a couple attending Pouzza Fest who just needed a place nearby to sleep. As it is below ground, there was some drain back-up after a heavy rainfall but this didn't bother us (just good to know). The bedding smelled fresh but there were a few hairs. Overall the impression was a hotel that was trying to be artistic & stylish, but missing out on some details. We had considered the pod hostel beds (which are in the same space) and were hoping to have access to the hostel kitchen, but the "kitchen" we were directed to was really a locker space with only a small fridge & microwave, not even a sink for washing dishes. The staff were present when you needed them but not overly friendly or proactive (we had to ask for anything we needed, like the WiFi password and if we'd wanted a 2nd bath towel). The Old Pier area is nearby with plenty of restaurants, shops & activities. And Muru crepe cafe across the road is delicious and very cute, with cheerful service. We would stay here again under similar circumstances. But if I was spending more time in my hotel, I would choose a different place to stay.

It was pretty gross and dirty. They clearly had not swept as we saw human nails discarded on the floor.

We have stayed in Hygie Hotel for the third time but the property is not well maintained. The hotel is dirty, our bathroom sinks were clogged, the towel hangers are broken. Overall there is no maintenance of the property.

Was dirty room, empty tissue box, and v poor quality towel with threads, abrasive staff, no welcome or manners, Would NoT recommend at all

The location is great. We had a great weekend walking around the old port. The property itself is a basement and was not super clean. Our bed sheets when we arrived had old makeup and hair but they were great and allowed us to switch rooms. For the price and location I would consider staying again but definitely feel Hygie needs to look at the cleanliness of the place.

Je doute fortement qu’il lave les chambres entre chaque clients . Car j’ai vue quelques cheveux noir ( je suis blonde ) dans le lit avant même qu’on n’y dorme. La douche du drain n’a pas été laver depuis 2 semaines a sûrement car il était bouger par des cheveux noir très long et il y avait du moisi.

La propreté de la chambre était médiocre la douche plein de calcium ce qui fait que la douche coule tout croche aucune débarbouillette les serviette sentait mauvais la lumière qui s'ouvre et s'éteint toute seule. C'était aucunement accueillant.

The floors in our room were very dirty… there was a toe nail on our floor right when we walked in. The amount of dirt on our socks after walking around for just a minute was disturbing… overal wasn’t the worst just for a place to stay for a night, but wouldn’t go back.

It was like staying in a European business hotel. The room was in the basement with no windows. The way out was not clearly marked and I stumbled into some strangers’ occupied and unlocked room. There were no restaurants open nearby when I arrived late in the evening. Guests made a terrible racket all through the night, and even blocking the cracks around the door with cloth did not allow me to sleep. However, it was clean and safe with a comfortable bed.

Chilly room couldn’t adjust ac so I was running the baseboard heater

The air conditioner didn't work, I reported the issue several times, but didn't work

Room is extremely small, all aspects open (bathroom to sleeping area) no doors, tv setup terrible, shouldn’t be seeing what the residents watch on guests tv. Not a hotel at all more like room to rent for a night

this is not a hotel… room was small and not similar to the pictures. No safety lock on door either and staff know your passcode making us feel a bit uneasy. No one at check in and had to wait to get in, rooms are in a scary basement?? no air conditioner and no door to the bathroom so everyone can hear you do your business. More like a hostel. This was very misleading I wish i could get a refund.

The room was in a basement, and anyone from the street could look into the room. The room was also kind of dirty, and it took a really long time for the shower to heat up. The walls are really thin so you can hear doors opening and closing, as well as conversations in the hallway. The staff were nice, but not super helpful. However, the location is great and the room is decorated relatively nicely.

HOT The air conditioning worked during the day but at night the temperature went to 28 c /82 f and there was no way to turn down the heat. The pillows were like large boulders. Parking was inconvenient. The shower was literally taped to the wall and spraying and leaking all the way into the next room.

Service was great but the room was definitely not sound proof as advertised. We could hear the staff welcoming other guests and in the morning we could clearly hear the showers. Would not recommend for those that have dust allergies. There was dust under the bed and when we plugged in the cord for the fridge (there is a mini fridge:)) we saw that area was definitely not cleaned for a while. The shower room was everything we wanted and overall the look of the room was very modern and nice.

I AM NOT SURE IF YOU ACTUALLY QUALIFY YOUR CLIENTS THAT YOU LIST ON EXPEDIA.CA IF NOT A SUGGESTION YOU SHOULD!! THIS IS A COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE PLACE FOR A COST OF ABOVE $40. NO CHECK IN PROCESS, WE ACTUALLY GOT LUCKY TO ACCIDENTALLY RUN IN TO SOMEBODY, THE PHONE NUNBERS ARE NOT OPERATIONAL, THE DOOR BUZZER REQUIRES A CODE TO ENTER WHICH WAS NOT PROVIDED BY ANYONE! ROOMS ARE IN A BASEMENT OF AND OLD BUILDING WITH ZERO RECEPTION. AND PEOPLE WALKING THE STREETS ARE HEARD LOUND AND CLEAR ABOVE US. THE PLACE DOES NOT GET A CLEANING LIKE IT SHOULD FOR $190 ALSO THE BED SHEETS WERE DIRTY AND ONE SINGLE TOWEL PROVIDED... I CAN GO ON FOR MUCH LONGER BUT I THINK U GET THE POINT. VERY DISSATISFIED WE LEFT THE HOTEL. CRINGED

The girl at the lobby when we checked in made our stay so extra special the first night she helped my mom with a walker she helped us in n out gave us a closer room and I didn’t even ask I’m sorry I didn’t get her name it was April 8 th she was exceptional!!!!!would stay again cus of her

I liked the location which is the only positive thing I can say about Hygie. There was nobody to speak by phone. There are two phone numbers given to clients but nobody answers EVER. The room was clean but it is furnished with the bare minimum. It’s also in a basement. The pillows are so thick and hard we could not use them. I will never encourage anyone to stay there.

Aucune accueil, notre Check in est à 15h, la porte est barrée, personne répond, finalement une personne répond mais parle seulement en anglais, nous sommes au Québec, finalement le concierge nous reçoit, aucune air climatisé dans la chambre quand il fait 34 avec humidex, 80 degrés et rien n’est réparé, 329$ la nuit, n’allez pas la !!

We had no hot water for 3 of 4 days and was brushed off by the staff saying just run it longer. As if 45 minutes was not enough and thats normal. There is no staff on site 24 hours and their phone foes not get ansered nor do the messages.

When I got to the Hotel , there was nobody at the lobby for more then an hour , Came back later in the afternoon noon and they apologized, the staff was very friendly. Rooms are spacious and clean. No hot water at all for the shower this morning. Great price for a night in Montreal Old port.

I was told I would be able to come by early to check-in because I would be at a concert during the check-in window. No one was there when I arrived and I spent 1.5 hours waiting outside the hotel only to be told to call them later and they would check me in over the phone. The whole thing was a huge time waste and felt completely disorganized.

The location can not be beat. The only reason to stay here is that you are right by all of the shops, restaurants and a lot of the tourist attractions. However there is absolutely no one available from the property. Check in was not easy. You have to keep pushing a intercom on the outside of the building and hopefully eventually someone will show up and open the door for you and tell you what room you are going to. If you need anything once you check in...like extra towels, blankets, coffee etc. there is absolutely no one to get this from. Check out was non existent. There is no one to talk to to or tell that you are checking out.

We showed up to this hotel late, and once we got into the room (that had no windows) we realized that it was VERY hot. We checked the AC and it said the room was 30 degrees celsius. VERY HOT. after searching for the front desk lady, we had to call the hotel and ask them to turn it on. She said she would do it from her side. we waited 30 minutes and when the air never went on, we left. We tried to find the front desk lady, even called but got no response. Awful. The next day I called the hotel multiple times with no response. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!

Good price good location right in old Montreal I would stay here again really nice rooms.

Location was close to iconic place Jacques quartier

The hotel has a great location and was a bargain. Room was clean but spare. It had king size bed that could sleep 3 according to the website, there was only one chair in the room and a desk. A combo furniture unit had space for a few articles of clothing, 3 hangers, a coffee machine, refrigerator, and a device that could either heat or cool a cup of water. A single towel was provided for me and a single towel for my companion. Asked for a hand towel and received another bath towel (which was also very thin). Large bathroom with a shower large enough for 3, but no hooks; the 2 sinks support could be used as a towel holder.

Bon rapport qualité/prix. Chambre propre. Très bon emplacement dans le Vieux Montréal avec stationnement sous-terrain à proximité.

This place is right in the middle of downtown Old Montreal! I loved that the most about this space.

Fausse publicité de la part de l'hotel. reservation fait au travers de Expedia et aucune chambre de disponible a part dans le sous sol (condo en haut) voir photos de reservation. aucun dejeuner continental offert tel qu'indiquer lors de la reservation. Chambre sale et bouteille d'eau deja oovert dans le frigo. De plus gros insecte d'insalubrité dans la douche. Je ne recommande pas du tout cette endroit, tres decu
