An older hotel but still in decent condition. Was clean and check in literally took ten seconds. Ample safe parking. Only complaint was the access to the hotel from I-81 north. Getting to the hotel, I was routed three or four miles away because there is no exit ramp close to the hotel which is 1/2 mile from the highway at most. Getting on I-81 south was a piece of cake because there is an entrance ramp close to the hotel. Overall a good place to rest your head for a night.

This motel brings back memories for me. My parents stayed here when we were stationed at Fort Drum. So, it was familiar. Unfortunately the area hasn’t grown at all, and this place needs an upgrade, but that is not a negative for my stay here. The staff is lovely, and incredibly welcoming. I needed a first floor room, and they were happy to oblige. The room was clean and comfortable - fridge, microwave, better cable than we have at home, and Wi-Fi. Also, when most of the larger corporate properties are no longer providing room service every day, they are. It was nice coming back to a tidy room.

This was a day before reservation. The place is about 1 1/2 miles straight drive from Interstate 81. Two gas station/convenience stores, Dunkin Donuts, a nice, small country style restaurant called Longways. I enjoyed their real food breakfast. The facility itself is old but in pretty good shape IMO. About $80/night, pets accepted with a $25/night, per pet fee. Other available places a ways from here about $300/night, no pets allowed. The shower handle was difficult until I figured it out. Ask for extra towels if you are use to huge fluffy ones. It has the very basic needs and was an affordable, short notice find.

Cheap no frills place with friendly service. If your like me and would rather spend your money on activities and food instead of a room where all you do is sleep, then this place is perfect for that. Room had fridge and microwave but if you need more amenities then recommend finding another hotel.

The Royal Inn is a basic hotel. My room had an air conditioner, tv, small table, 2 chairs, queen bed, refrigerator, microwave, hair dryer and towels. It was very clean. I stayed one night on my way to another destination. I arrived after midnight so I rang a doorbell for service and a nice gentleman came to the desk to help me. Not a bad place at all. Plenty of parking. Quiet and reasonable price. I have zero complaints.

We were upset to see dust webs in the ceiling corners and someone else’s half used bar of soap was in the tub. I didn’t realize that they had regulars living there, and they were noisy and knocked on doors early 6:30 ish in the morning! The room was non smoking but smelled like it had been smoked in , maybe person next door was smoking, ugh. We didn’t feel very safe there.

Staff was helpful, room was clean. Missing light bulb in the bathroom, no hand towels, towels were very stained, no shampoo, no kleenex, no lotion, no in-room coffee, no coffee or breakfast, blankets had holes, no place to hang bath towels, no iron or ironing board, and i think I'll stop there. It's a decent place and even with all it lacks, for the price I'd stay again, I'll just be more prepared next time.

The desk clerk tried to charge a $50 fee for our dog (a beagle). After haggling we still had to pay $30, and only agreed because it was 8pm and raining hard. Otherwise we would have gone elsewhere. The beds were hard.

The shower took time to figure out, particularly since the water had to run a long time (tap over sink as well as shower) before the water got warm. Also, I couldn't get the window curtains to close completely; something about their shape always put a space between them, so that I couldn't get complete privacy unless I turned the lights out. The shower takes a long time to get hot, and in room 106 it's impossible to make the curtains stay joined, and therefore a person passing on the sidewalk could easily look in through the unavoidable gap between them.

Honestly, when I arrived at this motel.. I immediately wanted to leave. I just got a very weird vibe from the place. I was so surprised it got such good reviews. There were some very odd people hanging around the place.. I felt very uncomfortable and unsafe. Then I got into my room and felt so claustrophobic. It was a tiny room. Some guys were giving each other a haircut outside, and I think people also live there. Such a strange place and vibe. I would never stay there again!! It's also in such a weird location.. right on an intersection. Yikes!!!!

Sink wasn't walled in with bath tub and toilet ,check in was at 2:pm not 11:am and public rest room in lobby will come back if changes are made

This little independent owned motel is well situated near I81. It is ok for travellers wanting affordable night with AC, hot water, fridge etc. the negative aspects are the bed that are very uncomfortable, the worst I've slept on with noisy springs. Finally, let's be honest for 79 US $ it did the job in accordance with our expectations.

This is a wonderful, family-owned motel. They do everything themselves! The rooms are bright & cheerful, always super clean, & the housekeeping service is phenomenal. These are fantastic folks. We stay here whenever we are in the Watertown area for the best hotel experiences--a few times a year--& are always sad if they are sold out. We always suggest this motel to friends who need a room in the Watertown area!

Room was clean and quiet. No complimentary shampoo/conditioner/lotion. Check-in wasn’t great. Person was confused about reservation and tried to charge more than booked price. Called assistant who straightened it out. Overall, I would book again. This was our 2nd stay at this location. 1st time was great.

The Motel was exellent Very happy with the room..I needed a ground floor room because my dog could not walk up steps and they had that for me. But I paid for 2 nights beause my dog was having surgery and was only supposed to stay one night. As it turned out she needs to stay for a week so I did not need the seond night stay. Said they would refund be but did not Very disappointed
