Very clean and tidy with great views. Wi-Fi a bit intermittent sometimes. Parking bays very small. Very little room to get out (if you could) if another car parked next to you. Definitely would stay here again.

Was very disappointed to have a unit half looking at the bank/trees and only half at the view. We always got a full view before! Specifically booked here for that reason. Also car parking a long way from unit. Probably wouldn’t go there again, even though we have been so many times before, so disappointing 😞

Peaceful and clean. Lovely check in reception. Lovely king suite room 14 over looking the Ocean. All amenities kitchen. Updated bathroom. Clean laundry facility. Loved our stay here in Paihia. Could definitely stay at this motel in this room for a long stay. Thank you to the owners for the care and attention they put into to this beautiful property.

Absolutely excellent accomodation. Wonderful customer service. As we were staying a bit longer Quinn gave us the suite with dual aspect. Such awesome views over the Bay of Islands. The balcony was put to good use. Our suite was very spacious & exceptionally clean. It had everything we needed. Couldn't ask for more. A short walk to bars, cafes, eateries & shops. So much to do in the area. Such a beautiful area, but then New Zealand is all gorgeous! We totally recommend the Breakwater Motel to anyone visiting the Bay of Islands. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again. Thanks so much to our hosts.

Was very impressed with this motel. Staff were excellent. Room made up every day. Great location. Very clean and tidy. Was not expecting such a great motel. Would definitely recommend and stay again. Loved the kitchenette and big bathroom.

From the time we checked in the staff was amazing and very accommodating to our needs. The room was very clean and comfortable to stay in. Awesome view from our balcony. All the shops, dining and bars were walking distance which was excellent. We will definitely stay there again on our next visit.

Room was generally clean however our bed had remnants of chocolate in the bed as if the sheets hadnt been changed which but the tile we discovered it (after 11) we were too tired to address the issue. Disappointing.

A great spot, less than a 5 minute stroll to the centre of Paihia, spacious and very well equipped accommodation. This is a lovely motel in Paihia. We loved our stay here. We had enough space to get unpacked and comfortable and the view out our bedroom and living area were stunning. We loved waking up to the sounds and smells of the ocean and loved to leave the sliders open at night as we relaxed. Incredible views and very calm atmosphere. The service was quite great as well. Anything we needed was taken care of quickly and the daily cleaning service was great. My only complaint was that the internet connection was pretty poor. I had to sit in just the right spot in one area of our unit to get connected to the wifi. Once connected, it worked pretty well. But they could probably benefit from some additional access points to increase the wifi connectivity.

Internet only working in main room not in bedroom Tv only had Chanel’s in the lounge room to use tv in bedroom you needed to walk into lounge to change the Chanel , very hard to do anything in the bedroom

There are only motels here so we drove past this one on the way to see where the ferry’s leave. Was right on the main road but had full views of the bay. We got ground floor Room 1 and was great. Sat outside and watched the world go by along with the cars which was the only issue. Bed a bit small and soft for our liking but bathroom, kitchen and seating area all good sizes. You do pay for the view!

The best feature of this property was the fact it was within walking distance to all of the main facilities of Paihia. Restaurants, shopping and all tourism outlets were very handy. The internet in our room was very limited and with no phone number listing or radio in the room access to local information was limited. The management did provide a wifi booster to assist with the internet access after we complained. Would suggest an upgrade to the internet access would be an asset in the post covid era in which compendiums are no longer supplied in guests rooms.

Got in very late so was grateful we could do a late check in over the phone and the key was left out for us. Unit was clean and comfortable for our overnight stay. Expensive for what we needed so wouldn’t stay there again.
