Cecil Hotel

Very good value. Central location, spotlessly clean , comfortable bed and nice staff, breakfast of bread cheese ham and fruit ( I didn’t expect breakfast included for the price) but there is also a cafe next door if want extra. It’s two minutes to monastiraki square too

The hotel is in a great location and easily accessible. The room was good but it was two twin beds put together rather than a double bed which is normal for Europe so it was not a concern for us. The breakfast was good and is a continental style breakfast.

I have stayed quite a few times and I always come back when I visit Athens. Perfect location for the Monastiraki metro station and the flea market which are only a 5 minute walk. Plenty of shops and restaurants (coffee, souvenir, pastry shops, bakeries, juice bars etc), very close proximity to Akropolis. The hotel itself it's not very modern or new but it's very decent and clean. In fact I prefer it to some modern, sterile, impersonal hotels I've stayed. Cecil has a character!! The rooms are not very big but they're very clean with comfortable beds, air con, TV and a fridge in the common area outside the rooms. Complementary shower gel and soap in the shower. As always a very pleasant staying!

This is a very good cheap hotel in the city centre. Excellent location. It is very basic but a great place for a couple of nights stay.

Good location, friendly staff, old hotel, everywhere smoke-stained smell, uncomfortable beds, small bathrooms, poor maintenance. Breakfast was poor: supermarket bread, chees and ham, yogurt, packaged cake, and cold hard-boiled eggs. Not recommended. The only plus is the location (about a 15-20 minute walk from the Acropolis) and the truly beautiful view of the Acropolis from the rooftop.
