Regal Inn

For the price it was better than expected. The old pool area is totally overgrown. The back has long term tenants that had grocery carts. The door only has the key card and a bolt lock - no peep hole or security chain/Slide. If I had been alone I would not have felt comfortable. For the price I was expecting the room to be dirty and dated. The hotel has recently been updated with very nice fixtures. The comforter does not look as though it is swapped between guest and had cigarette burns ( No smell of smoke) Bring your own pillows they only has pillow cases on them and you could see old yellow stains. I stayed here due to the good reviews and I have stayed in worse hotels. I feel the doors need to be more secure and the bedding needs to improved.

The parking was just outside my door, and the parking lot was surrounded by a privacy fence on my side of the building.

Very clean and worth the price. Only negative was the ice machine was broken.

Old Motel, but very clean inside, recently updated rooms in the last 4 years I understand. I like the barn door to restroom, it really saves space, plus a good look. hard floors, good paint choices. They only have a coffee pot in office, so I would like to see them add coffee to the rooms. Compared to surrounding hotels, good price, comfortable room. Park outside your room door. Would stay here again.

The regal inn has seen better days outside but the inside room was recently redone. Fresh paint and bathroom looked new.decor was pleasant fridge and microwave but no coffee machine.

We have stopped at this hotel before, so we pretty much knew what to expect. There are literally no amenities other than coffee in the lobby. But that’s okay because all we needed was a hot shower and a clean bed. The one thing that I noticed that really could be changed is the appearance of the property in front. There were weeds hanging out of old dilapidated flower pots. Why they wouldn’t take time to clean this area I don’t know. This has been recently renovated so the rooms still looks very nice, I only hope they continue to update and keep it looking that way. There is no carpeting! I love that in a hotel. There is a restaurant called Pizano’s that we found, and that is one of the main reasons we stopped in this area. They have the best woodfired pizza and molten lava cake. I love the surrounding area because there are many restaurants and lots of shopping. We will stop here again.

Hotel was pretty decent, guy that works over night is awesome, but the power went out and 10:30PM and didn’t come back on until 8:30AM the following morning, they did not have any sort of back up power or anything in case of emergency, called them to discuss the situation and the lady that works the day time said it wasn’t their problem.

It is a motel, not hotel. Remodeled with fresh paint and other updates. Confusion with room reservation and what type of room was reserved. Outside of building had areas updated and others somewhat run down. Convenient to freeway and food

The rooms are basic but very clean and comfortable. The grounds could use some attention to attractiveness.

The service was great. When I first pulled up, the upkeep was terrible on the outside. People were hanging out outside the rooms when I entered the hotel room. It looked nice at first, but then I saw that the towels were very dirty and the sheets. also I had to go to the office and have them to change the linen.

Clean new and clean looking interiors

Never been to a cleaner hotel spartan amenities and minor esthetic deficiencies (slight wall paint or chip) tv was a challenge- maybe a guide sheet could assist guests. Bathroom was spotless as was the bed. Cleanliness is the only thing I’m really concerned about when traveling and the regal inn is an A+

The Motel overall was excellent. No bugs, no hairs on the bed, shower could have been a tad cleaner r, but not bad for the price. Overall: 9 out of 10. Thanks, we'll be back.

We spent a night at the Regal Inn and everything was perfect. The room was recently updated, it was also very clean and the bed was confortable.

We needed a stop off on our way to the Carnival port and this was right off the interstate. The outside looks old and needs updates and groundskeeping pretty bad. The worst part was the floor in the room was dirty and seemed to have not been cleaned in a while.

Our family was without power for a week following Hurricane Idalia for a night away- we chose Regal Inn because of how clean and modern the photos looked. When we pulled up we realized the photos are very misleading. The lobby does not look like how it is portrayed on Hotels.com. Yes the counter is nice but it is very much a standard cheap turn and go motel, no place for kids. The front desk woman didn’t even acknowledge us when we walked in… a man in front of us was trying to pay and she couldn’t find the info for his room or something. We finally check in and were pleasantly surprised that the bedding and finishes in the room WERE as pictured… but you can tell the blankets weren’t washed, we found small hairs on the sheets (which was probably caused by putting a dirty blanket on a clean bed- because they did smell clean) and within 20 minutes all of our feet were BLACK. My toddler spilled water and when we went to wipe it up the white towel turned black- floors were NOT mopped. We opted not to bathe our children in the tub because we couldn’t make sure it was clean (and half the reason of getting a hotel was so we could all have warm showers). The AC blew cold but you could see dirt and mold on the vent. Very concerning health-wise…. And it’s like the owners KNOW they are not doing things to the best of their abilities because NO REFUNDS is posted everywhere! The owner completely ignored me when I went to return key and they refused to acknowledge the filth. Never again!

We stayed here because of the very high cleanliness rating we saw on Expedia. Old reviews must have swayed that rating. The floor was gross. Tile needs mopped! The floor around the toilet looked like pee splatters. I didn't feel comfortable taking my shoes off in the room at all. There was a small stain on the sheet and the hand towel. The walls and baseboards look like no one has ever wiped them down, especially in the bathroom. The door did not close tightly, even with the deadbolt latched. The a/c was not turned on prior to our arrival (10 pm), even though I pre-checked in online, so it took all night for the room to cool off. This is Florida. It is hot here. At least turn the a/c on when you know someone is checking into that room. There was no coffee available in the room or at the desk. Thankfully we found great coffee nearby (Xapa). We will not be staying here again.

Renovated room, all new. Clean and quiet. We had a good night sleep.

Nicely remodeled, but very OLD building so very noisy. Floor was filthy.

Place was basic but very clean. Could hear a lot of street noise. Shower head & faucet were sl loose from wall.

Really inexpensive with a nice room, all except the smoke smell in a supposedly non-smoking room. After a while you get used to it, but it was annoying to walk into. The room, itself was quite nice, as was the check in lady, and it was an easy walk to the Waffle House for breakfast. Would we stay here again? If I wanted to save money and have a nice room, yes. If I wanted to avoid the smoke smell, no.

Read some of the reviews, they were actually pretty good so I thought I would give it a chance. I wrote this review from the hotel room the night that I stayed, not after I’d left and so far no issues. The place was clean, all the lights worked, location was pretty good, and there was a Denny’s just down the road where I could get my breakfast in the morning. Parking lot was well lit and very fast Internet download speeds although pretty bad upload speeds if you wanted to send pictures or video out. Honestly, I can’t complain although I hadn’t tried the shower yet but there was decent water pressure from the sink and the toilet flushed good.

Easy access to the rooms if you are driving and like to back up right to the door. Nicely renovated rooms with tiled floors. The room was a little dark with the curtains closed. The floor could have been a little cleaner but everything else was spotless. The reception area didn't smell very fresh, but the lady was very nice and efficient. Overall, I would definitely stay here again. Very nice.

you walk in the front desk and you're at an indian "gas station" not very inviting and smelling like curry.. The doors to the rooms are painted in pastel colors Pink, yellow, green, light blue. Opened the door and was pleasantly surprised. no dirt carpet but nice flooring and the beds well made. Clean inside. AC was off where i think they should have turned it on being its florida and summer time. Bathroom had hot water and everything was clean. Bed sucked! i slept the worst night ever, Couldnt get comfortable. Felt like i was laying on a 4x8 plywood with 1" of foam. Horrible night! I gave it 1 star for comfort because of that bed. overall a 3 star.

Newly renovated rooms were good

Needed a place to stay just for the night halfway to our destination in Florida. Room was upgraded, bed was a little hard but slept well, AC worked well. Room smelled a little stale/musty and in the bathroom smelled like cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room.

Great place to spend a few nights. Very Clean! Friendly and accommodation staff. Excellent!

This was my second stay at Regal Inn...the front office is always manned by friendly folks. The room is super clean. It has everything you would want, including an iron and ironing board, fresh towels nice shower. It has a barn door for bathroom door, which is very clever. The area is surrounded by commerce, on both sides of Hiway 90. I enjoyed the small mall less than a mile away; inside was a country buffet with different foods...gizzards and mustard greens.

Arrived very late (2:15 a.m.) to check in after a long drive. Room was fully paid for in advance and the description indicates there is 24/7 front desk so I didn't think it would be an issue arriving late. When we got there the front office was locked. We could see someone in the office sleeping in a chair and attempted to knock loudly and ring the doorbell but the front desk attendant would not wake up so we wound up leaving without staying at the property so unable to comment on the condition of the room or anything else. I called Hotels.com today for a refund given the circumstances and they tried to reach out to the property to discuss but couldn't get anyone to pick up the phone and said they would email me back in 72 hours. I respectfully request a full refund for the night since we were unable to use the room even though we were there.

For the price it wasn't bad and we were mostly comfortable. I am very picky so for this ptice it was better than other places and didn't make my skin crawl lol. My issue was the floors were not clean (we walk with slippers and step on towels anyway but still don't like having dirty floors). We also had some dirty towels so maybe they aren't washing them good. I had my own washcloth but will bring my own drying now. When I asked for someone to come clean thefloors and bring us towels the cleaning lady was smoking and try to hide her cigarette on her side. I decided to not let her do the floors because we didn't want the cigarette smell in our room plus my daughter just had a newborn baby. Throughout the day the cleaning lady was smoking while working and the smell started coming in our rooms, through the cracks of the doors. I cannot stand cigarettes and again there was a baby. I called the room and had to ask for the cleaning lady to not smoke atound oyr room. She really shouldn't be smoking on the job anyway but that's my opinion.

Office staff really nice! Easy check out. Only problem I have is I requested a king size bed and got two beds instead.

It was convenient to restaurants and also Walmart. But what I dislike is poor room service. They would not clean the room. And claimed they knocked on the door. Not true, when I as for room service either their gone home for the day. You could only get fresh towers if you as or complain about room service. I will never stay their again.

Quiet motel in Lake City was a big surprise....the grounds were very well kept; the inside of the unit was gorgeous, spacious and super clean. I cannot say that about many of the motels that I rent, but Regal Inn is awesome. The check in was easy, and the lady at the front office was very friendly and accommodating. I was put off at checkin when I was asked for a photo ID. Without asking the clerk ran it thru a electronic scanner before I could protest. I don’t want just anybody making photos of my ID and since I had paid thru Expedia they had no reason to do so. Look at it fine, copy NO!!! When I said something to the clerk she said she was following procedure so this falls to the owner. I wouldn’t have stayed if I had known this would happen so beware. As to the room it was fine but now I’m just wondering if my identity will end up stolen.

The location has several restaurants in walking distance. On one side is Chipotle and on the other side is Waffle House. Across the street there are several good restaurants. Great location.

Great find! Old time motel newly remodeled. Very friendly staff and very clean. In room frig, and microwave, wifi and nice size TV. No breakfast offered, but wide variety of restaurants within walking. We recommend this hotel for short term stays. Will definitely stay next time we are in the area.

Friendly staff. Checking in was a breeze. Looking at the pictures other people have posted it's what you get. Simple room with cable TV, microwave, small refrigerator with a freezer. Bathroom is roomy. Convenient location with A Waffle House next door and multiple fast food restaurants all within waking distance. Would definitely stay here in the future.

Economical price and modern decor - very clean place to stay. Updated room was on point with lighting and seating. Easy walk to breakfast and restaurants. Would stay here again. Like that is is not a chain.
