The property is ongoing renovation. The parking lot has construction trailers blocking some of the available parking. The rooms and grounds are being upgraded. My room was one of the newly renovated ones. It was done very well. Not fancy, but well done. This will be a nice place when finished. I'll definitely return.

We were very surprised at the upgrades to the room we stayed in. We have stayed there in the past before the upgrade and we weren’t very impressed. But this time blew us away! It was clean, the beds were comfortable, it didn’t smell like cigarette smoke the AC was cold and tv was HUGE! The colors were vibrant and dint feel like an old folks home! It was hip fun and a nice walk from Vons and 7-11! The bar right next our room was, concerning at first but the room was quiet and you couldnt hear the noise from it and it was generally safe-ish. Would like another deadbolt on the door but other than that, the WiFi was strong, the water was hot, the microwave worked and the coffee maker rocked! And checking in was easy and fast and the staff was amazing! Will definitely be returning!

The room itself, once inside, was great. The outer area however, was a mess. Empty pool, incomplete construction, litter, questionable individuals lurking about, etc. The location is convenient, as it is near freeways and eateries and markets. Very good value for money. The motel is undergoing a major refurbishment so upon entering the property you'll see a lot of construction activity. The upside is we (the wife and two grandchildren) had one of the rooms that had been finished. Very clean and modern. Both King size mattresses were new and of high grade. Big screen, hi-def TV (at least 75") with the full Sprectrum offering. The room itself is worthy of a four-star rating. The pool is not opened yet so the grandchild were disappointed (despite five hours at the beach). I would definitely stay there again.

The hotel needs renovation. The pool is permanitly closed and the jacuzzi is filled with debris. The ice machine is broken. The front office was closed when I needed to get into my room at 8am. The lazy dude wouldn't even answer the ring doorbell until I rang it a dozen times. When he did finally answer he was very upset that I woke him up. He told me the office doesn't open until 9 am. I explained that I needed to get into my room and lost my key card he said to bad. Really? There was a nice person that worked there but wasn't on the clock. He contacted the manager and obtained the security code to enter the office. Only then was i able to gain entry into my room.

Place was good, price was good. Hotel parking lot was cluttered and limited parking due to ongoing room renovations, staff was nice, no pool available due to renovations. Would stay again when renovations are complete. Overall i would recommend.

Front desk help was courteous. Sheets were clean as was the toilet, sinks and vanity countertop. Carpet was beyond FILTHY. I did see a bug on the countertop that resembled a BEDBUG. The shower tile had mold and mildew around almost every individual tile. We had a late night arrival otherwise would have found a new place to stay.

They are renovating the rooms so the mess is expected but my bed smelled so bad as if someone had a dog sleeping on the bed and the sheets were not changed. There were also a ton of ants on the floor.

I knew it was under renovation when I booked so that wasn’t a shock and they did good keeping it clean for the most part. The room was great! My only issue would be there were a lot of ants. Dead and alive. It seemed like they sprayed to kill the ants but more kept coming in. Also the shower didn’t seem like it had been properly cleaned. Dirt on the floor, hair on walls and ground. There were some restaurants close enough to walk to which we liked. Overall we enjoyed it. LOVED the double king bed rooms!

First they check to send to a dirty room then we had to wait another 2 hours for a room to get done so are 3:00 check in became 5:00 and the room was half ass put together the floor was so filthy that are sucks and feet were black within minutes and then we woke up to an amp problem everywhere. I can go on and on.

Pros: close to the OC Fair and event center. Clean towels, clean beds, hot shower, polite staff. Cons: Very outdated (ancient), roaches, someone’s shoes under the bed, people smoking and chatting outside (there is a pub nearby), noise isolation is very poor for double rooms (with a door from one room to another). Avoid.

10 stars! Room was all brand new and spotless. They are in the process of remodeling and I stayed in a new room. Very nice staff at check in and my stay was perfect.

Room was absolutely fabulous, totally renovated. Bathroom superb with nice towels. It didn’t have a hairdryer, and unfortunately, when I realized it was not present, I was not in a position to go to the front desk to ask for one. Excellent front desk staff, accommodating and very clean overall. The property is under a major renovation so I look forward to a return visit to give it a five star.

All in all, a good hotel for the price. Walls are thin, so you might want to bring ear plugs. I did and worked perfectly! (Always bring to hotel. Lol) staff was awesome, room was remodeled, clean and comfortable with big tv! They are still in remodeling orocess,so expect construction and limited parking for now. (4/25/25) will stay again.

Pretty good price, which meant things felt sketchy. Wished the pool had been available. Refurbished rooms that were new. If someone steps out of bed (or sometimes merely moves in bed) the floor lights come on with motion detector and wake everyone up. That was bad. Also, one time the TV turned on by itself at 4am blaring loudly. The poor old ladies cleaning rooms were nice and friendly.

The walls are paper thin. I can hear the person upstairs walk around, turn off the lights, run the water, EVERYTHING. On top of that you have a 70inch tv that runs on 480p with no smart tv functionality. Couldnt sleep because the person above was walking around the whole night and doing whatever. Worst experience ever.

The room sucked I was happy at first upon arrival but little by little the negative things started piling up The security latch on the door was falling off The WiFi was terrible and wouldn’t allow you to stream anything They had a smart tv but both remotes didn’t work well and wasn’t able to use any of the smart features Towels with stains in them Tub was nice but faces away from the tv I tried calling the front desk but no phone in the room Called from my personal phone and it kept ringing with no answer

When we 1st arrived we weren’t sure about our decision to stay at Costa Mesa Inn due to all the boxes and construction (isolated) but then we met Sandra. She made check in easy and she absolutely lovely. Then we entered the very nice newly renovated, spotless room. The room has light colored wood looking tile floors not those nasty hotel room carpets. I even walked around without my sandals-which I never do at hotels. But like I mentioned it was spotless. We went to Patrick’s Pud right next door to the inn when we returned after enjoying the sunset and dinner at the beach. It was great! We will definitely reserve at this inn the next time we go to Newport Beach, hopefully it will be all done. 😊

This hotel was so nice! They are doing renovations, so parking is limited, but not bad. We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was wonderful. Everyone I talked to at the front desk was amazing. My only complaint it that we were on the ground floor and we could the people in the room above us walking around. There is a pub connected to the hotel, and our upstairs neighbor came in every night around 2am and we knew every step he took! Otherwise, this place is really good. I will definitely stay here again.

We arrived at 1:00pm and knew it was unlikely we would get an early check in, but asked anyway. The clerk simply said "no". So I asked if they could hold our bags, again told, "no". I asked if we could sit by the pool/patio and was told "no". I then asked if we could wait in the lobby until check in time and was told "no, I am going to take off for awhile". So we did just go across the parking lot to the bar, but the clerk could not have been less helpful. At least when we came to check back in there was a different clerk and he was polite. The hotel is very run down and under construction. I used to stay here when it was a Super 8 and it was in better shape and the staff was helpful and polite. I usually stay in pretty simple, basic places, but I will not stay here again. It was dirty and run down. If it weren't for the 2nd clerk, this would be a 1 star review. Also the room was a little dirty.
We arrived at 1:00pm and knew it was unlikely we would get an early check in, but asked anyway. The clerk simply said "no". So I asked if they could hold our bags, again told, "no". I asked if we could sit by the pool/patio and was told "no". I then asked if we could wait in the lobby until check in time and was told "no, I am going to take off for awhile". It’s surprisingly difficult to get fresh towels. You must find the hosekeeper that is assigned to YOUR zone. If you ask the “wrong” one for towels you get turned away.

Staff members were not being honest. I arrived yesterday at 8:15 PM, there was a note on the door stating be back at 9 PM out to lunch. I came back at 9:02 PM now the note says 9:49 PM will be back from lunch. Myself and 4 or 5 other guests were waiting. We rang the doorbell and the employee who answered was very rude. He said we will have to wait like everyone else. I’m not sure what kind of property management training this plays has put in place; however, if you are a hotel, an Inn or motel there should be someone covering Lunch shifts and not ask guests to wait an hour or one hour and a half. Additionally, blow dryer in the hotel room did not work, no tissue box, room smells like cigarettes. Overall experience was very terrible.

We are local to the area but had an event to attend and didn’t want to drive home. I found this hotel and it looked good so we booked itZ We arrived at aborb10/00Pm and Sandra at the front desk was charming. We then went onput room and on the way realized the hotel was being remodeled so I was a little concerned. When we opened the door to our room it was a beautifully remodeled room and I was very impressed. It was clean cool and comfortable and we definitely recommend

Room on 2nd floor was as far from stairs as possible. Not enough stairs built.... Room was good, with new style furniture. The room was just remodeled so I think they did a great job. Of course still going through construction so that's where the negative is. It didn't bother me at all and not having a pool didn't bother me either. The location is great everything's walking distance I used to live in the area so the convenience way out did any inconveniences.

I needed a place for a music festival down in Huntington Beach, but was not wanting to pay HB prices. I found Costa Mesa Inn to be in a decent area, right by OC Bus service, and in good condition. Nothing too fancy, and some noise at night since there's a pub on the property, but still would choose again if the need arises!

Great location for any business in Costa Mesa/Irvine. Easy free parking a big plus as we all know it’s rare in SoCal. Staff was nice and made the process easy. It is right next to a pub though, so trying to go to bed before 10:00 on the weekend is likely going to be difficult. Thin walls. Cleanliness was decent, room had a bit of a cigarette after smell which is kinda common for hotels like this unfortunately. I’d stay again overall

We were very surprised at the upgrades to the room we stayed in. We have stayed there in the past before the upgrade and we weren’t very impressed. But this time blew us away! It was clean, the beds were comfortable, it didn’t smell like cigarette smoke the AC was cold and tv was HUGE! The colors were vibrant and dint feel like an old folks home! It was hip fun and a nice walk from Vons and 7-11! The bar right next our room was, concerning at first but the room was quiet and you couldnt hear the noise from it and it was generally safe-ish. Would like another deadbolt on the door but other than that, the WiFi was strong, the water was hot, the microwave worked and the coffee maker rocked! And checking in was easy and fast and the staff was amazing! Will definitely be returning!

The room itself, once inside, was great. The outer area however, was a mess. Empty pool, incomplete construction, litter, questionable individuals lurking about, etc. The location is convenient, as it is near freeways and eateries and markets. The girl at the front desk was polite and helpful. The 200 dollar security hold is a bit steep considering the establishment as a whole. I'd stay again. Hopeful they complete / address the appearance of the exterior.

We enjoyed our short stay at the Costa Mesa Inn as it was very close to the wedding venue we were attending. There's a pub next door and really good Mexican restaurant next to the pub. Front desk staff were very friendly and our room was old but, clean. We could have used an extra towel or two and the water pressure is a little on the low side. The a/c worked great!

When i booked online i personal did not see anything about a 200 deposit so it was a inconvenience for me and my kids took away from my trip money and it also said they had a pool no water in it or no breakfast and the property looked under maintenence i love the style in the room but i will not book there agian it sucks .

My room was upgraded for free, staff was great. Room was big, bed was comfortable and the kitchen area was great. The water pressure is awesome. My room also has a lighted vanity which came in handy. I would definitely stay here again. Next door is a cool pub and we had some great food by Prince Skye Blue.

The room was great. It was kind of close to everything really close to the beach which we really liked a lot, really easy check-in to check out.
