This place exceed my expectations! The beds were comfortable, the place was lovely, the balcony was amazing, and the location was perfect! There was also a beach umbrella, chairs, AND a boogie board available to use during beach days which my kids and I greatly appreciated. The whole Waikoloa area is adorable with shops, restaurants, and a beach all within a couple minutes of driving. This was my first visit to Hawaii and I couldn’t be happier with our choice to stay here! Also….if you choose to stay here, make sure to take a walk to the ocean in the morning at least once during your visit! It was my favorite way to start each day!

I have stayed in the Waikoloa Beach area for years, but first time at The Shores. I was very pleased with the unit which had obviously been updated and was nicely decorated. It was appointed with everything needed for a comfortable stay and then some. We enjoyed walking the beautiful grounds. Pool is lovely. The beds were comfortable, however the big pillows were very lumpy and difficult to sleep on. The carpet in the guest room could use a good cleaning, and we missed an indoor dining table. However, the lanai was more than adequate and we used it well. We would go back.

Don’t stay here if you want a place that prioritizes providing a high level of hospitality and customer service. We thought we chose a great place to celebrate our 30th anniversary and to celebrate my being cancer free for over 5 years. Staying at this place ended up being frustrating and disappointing in several ways. On the first day, the TVs in the 2 bedrooms didn’t work. The ceiling fan didn’t work in the second bedroom and the dresser drawers kept sliding open. My husband banged his knee a couple times while he was trying to fix the TV. He did this because it took a couple of days for property management to send anyone over to rectify the situation. When the “condo inspector” came over, she thought she fixed it but as soon as she left, the TV didn’t work again. This condo inspector failed to see that there was a big hole in a wall, the toilet in the master bathroom had toilet tissue still in the bowl prior to our arrival, the sliding door to the lanai was grimy and streaky, the electrical junction box in the wall between the kitchen and master bedroom was loose and pulling out of the wall, the chains on the window shades kept breaking apart, and there was a problem with the ice maker in the refrigerator. There were other shortcomings, which are minor but too numerous to mention in a review. For the price we paid for our stay, we wouldn’t expect these kinds of issues and shortcomings. My husband emailed customer service describing our experience and the flaws of the cond
