Mold on walls. No towels provided and when asked the staff said there were no towels in the hotel. Dirty bathroom. Very thin walls meaning we could here everything from the next room.

Had to wait with other people for 20 mins and 4 phone calls for a member of staff to attend reception for check in. The building/amenities are in a poor state of repair, the lift wasn’t working, the carpets were all fairly grim, the room didn’t look like the photos. We had to ask for towels. The water pressure for the shower was poor. On the plus side the bathroom, although tired, was clean and the bedding was nice, fresh and clean. Would not recommend

I don’t think this hotel necessarily deserves all the awful reviews it has received. We didn’t find it that bad and given the very reasonable price we paid compared to others advertised on Boardmasters weekend you don’t expect a 5 star hotel. I’ll start with the positives - the location is amazing, right opposite Tolcarne beach and a short walk to other lovely beaches and Newquay town centre. Our room (26) was also actually pretty good. It was a decent size, clean with a perfectly functional en suite and lovely beach views. The staff (when around) were pleasant and check in /out very easy. The negatives were communal areas that were clearly in need of a deep clean and refurb - but to be honest if you’re staying in Cornwall you are probably not there to spend time hanging around in your hotel lobby! There were also no towels (until we asked), hand soap or toilet roll - but we just bought some at the nearby supermarket. Overall if you are on a budget, want somewhere in a very convenient location and don’t mind bringing towels and toilet roll this really isn’t that bad an option.

This hotel is NOT what is in the pictures. It is filthy, we did not stay and had to pay a further £200 to stay elsewhere. The beds had no mattress protectors, they were split in half bunk beds, the room was filthy dirty with rubbish in hallways on the floor with the "clean" bedding. There was a fridge with rotting food in reception. We took the key and walked out when we went back to complain the person on reception said he was fed up with people complaining and that there would be no refund. Just an utterly awful experience!
