Hilton Garden Inn Ft. Walton Beach

The hotel was very nice. Great view, right on beach, and pool was very good. The bed was very firm, which some people enjoy but not us. Besides that fact, hotel was great. Had a tiki bar with music near pool for most of the day also.

Clean and well decorated. Pool and lazy river was excellent. Hot tub jets were not working. Staff was excellent.

When arriving at the property and walking to our room we noticed the lights in the hall had yellow tint along with the carpet being stained and looked dirty. We walked into our room and although it looked clean we noticed lamps & shades were covered in rust and even with lights on it was still pretty dark, the bathroom looked as though it had flooded at some point because the wallpaper was bubbled on the wall, and throughout our stay we could hear a constant running of water. Everything felt damp and nothing would dry. Towels, swim suits, etc. Some of the pillows were musty smelling and we would not use them. Pool??? It is nice, not large, and there are NO LIGHTS once it gets dark and we didn’t understand that at all. SAFETY!?! NO SAFETY MEASURES AT ALL!!! Anyone can come in this property, beach side, lobby entrance and can use elevators!!! Absolutely crazy and scary to think now days CLEANLINESS - we were there from Thursday evening until Monday morning and we never heard or saw a vacuum in the hallways. The chairs in the lobby are disgusting! They are stained and old. Hilton should be ashamed to charge what they do for this hotel and it look the way it does. This hotel is definitely not what the pictures show online. As far as location, the beach is beautiful and there are a few things close enough to walk if you use the beach side to walk otherwise due to construction we didn’t see a way to walk to some of the things close. Destin Harborwalk is about 6 mins using Uber.

Stopped in a few days before Thanksgiving. Pretty area, lots of construction on the road in front hotel. Nice place but the pool was soooo gross. Nasty. The spa was broken so we didn't get to use it at all. The room was clean and comfortable. Parking was convienent but cost 25 a day I think. Pretty excessive and a price gouge. Probably would not stay there again because of the pool PSTD.

We love Hilton Garden Inn and have been there maybe six times? We love the pool area and the view. We had a problem with our microwave and it was changed out in about fifteen minutes. For us, it is just a lovely, relaxing place to be.

When we first checked into our room and took the first shower, the carpet in the room with the bunkbeds instantly became saturated with water. Upon review of the bathroom, we found the picture below of the wall that is warped in the paper peeling off of it from water standing and leaking out of the shower for long-term Timeframe. when we went downstairs, the desk acted like no one had ever mentioned this before. When we started moving furniture and luggage out of the area that has wet carpet, we found a trash bag in pieces of trash that had not been cleaned from the previous people before us. However, the front staff at the desk was very nice and worked to be able to get us and changed room for the next day and discount the first night stay. The tiki hut offers great food and drinks. The restaurant inside the hotel offers a great breakfast. The restaurant is a little bit more challenging of an evening. The tiki hut offers great food and drinks. We came here for a mini getaway to celebrate my son's birthday. So mostly came for the pool and such amenities.. the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Allowed us to swim while waiting for room to be ready(we got there before 2pm ) Plenty of parking. No issues with that. It did cost 15$ to park for one night. The hotel lobby was nice and clean. Our hallway was a bit run down. Dingy carpet and peeling wallpaper. There were several dogs we saw on our stay but they didn't bother us. Could smell them a little in our room from previous guest. Our room was a 2bed inland view with balcony and it was very nice. Felt safe and was well set up and equipped. We had comfortable beds and enjoyed our stay very much. The pool was very nice my son enjoyed a lot even with a lot of guests there. Still plenty of room to enjoy. Water was pretty hot tbh. Not super refreshing but it is August in FL ... Went to tiki bar and got some drinks. Wonderful service. Be advised online menu is different then menu they have - including different pricing (12$ online for chicken tenders,17$ actual price. ) etc. We went to beach super easy access to beautiful beach! And we were able to use the neighboring hotel pool as well which was bonus for my son at night -The pools are very similar however at night the hotel next door ( the Holiday inn) has movies playing on a projection screen for the kids while they swim which was super cool. Do note there is no in room dining but can order and pick up

The pool area was nice. They could use some better lounge chairs. Tiki bar was great bartenders are awesome.

I stayed here a few years ago and it was very nice. This time, my bed is damp, the lamps don’t work ( I did turn on the master switch) the bathroom door looks like it has been chewed by a dog, the carpet is dirty and they hallways are a mess. Towels and trash just lying in the hallway. If I could’ve gotten my money back, I sure would have. Fortunately, I am only here for one night. I got two rooms and they are both bad. I feel embarrassed that I have a guest staying in the additional room.

The room was poorly cleaned and the mattress and bed linen was old and badly stained. The mattress had a huge stained that looked like blood. Housekeeping came to our room while we were out and flipped the mattress and changed linen. Unacceptable and unsanitary!!!!!!

Staff was very nice but there was two roaches in my room. Room was not clean at all.

There was mold in the bathroom and ants all in the room and in the beds!! Horrible for the price you pay! Definitely not up to Hilton standards!

Terrible experience, we arrived to Mold on the sofa and cushions and on the mattress and bed frame. Not a little either... that mold had been growing for a while. Notified staff who did not seemed to be surprised or concerned and not promt to action. Eventually someone came and wiped it off and deemed it clean... It was not, so many spots were left. We asked for a new room, they said they didnt have one. We asked for a new mattress to sleep on, they said they didn't have spares. Their solution was to bring 2 twin roll aways mattress which were also less than desirable and had seen better days. We Eventually spoke to management who was rude and condescending and blasé about the whole thing. Like we were bothering her for bringing it to their attention. Her solution was to offer free breakfast, as if that would rectify the cleanliness and health safety issues. The balcony rail was loose and not secured which was another safety issue, but given their lack of action on the mold we didn't even report it. It looked to have been that way for months too. Their inability to act on a real health and sanitation issue was concerning.... for this reason we do not reccomend.

The website photos look pristine, but the reality was disappointing. Outdoor and poolside furniture were stained and dirty, the indoor pool was dirty. The room had multiple issues—rusty lamp shades, stained mirrors, dirty vents, and worn carpet. The property needs a serious deep cleaning and upgrade inside and out. Highway construction makes access difficult as well. The only positive was the friendly front desk staff. Based on my stay, I would not recommend this hotel unless it undergoes a complete overhaul.

When I checked in and went to the room it was dog poop on the floor in three different areas and unfortunately we didn’t see it in time before we realized it. My son was already rolling on the floor! I was and still extremely upset that the house keeper didn’t clean the room properly.

Cleanliness was so good. Staff were very helpful and welcoming.

We Won’t stay again. No cell service at all in our room. Uncalled for. We chose this hotel because it was near the condos where our daughter and family were staying, and we had stayed a few years back and it was very clean and well maintained at that time. In those few years, we were disappointed to see it had not been well maintained. Poor lighting in room, not vacuuming our 3rd floor halls (a fry on the hallway floor Sunday we noticed was still there when we left Wednesday), lots of dogs on our floor, two old rusty light fixtures in bathroom that didn’t work, two rusty lamps in bedroom, cream sofas in main entry way with heavy brown dirt stains, smelled marijuana heavily at numerous times on our floor and lobby area. Beds were clean and comfortable and bathroom was clean, so that helped, and we had a nice gulf and pool view. We planned to eat there but when I had asked to be placed on a non pet floor due to severe allergies, and was given an answer that favored pets more than people, we were afraid to eat there. The pool area maintenance was poor on Sunday but seemed to get better Tuesday and Wednesday. Disappointed in Hilton and Expedia for rating this property a 9.2 because I definitely go by reviews. There is no way. More like 6.5.

Hotel balconies are in a giant U design. So while you can see the beach, you also see all the other guests.

Room was run down and needs updating

The area was great, places to eat that are close by. Traffic can build up but plenty of food options within walking distance. Pool area and beach are great. Comfortable room great AC. The TV only had cable and constantly kept getting disconnected due to weak signal. No cell service in the room either. No smart TV just cable that was hard to watch due to weak signal.

Hotel is updated with clean/big rooms. Cons: shower needs attention and AC was so loud that we couldn’t use it as needed.

The view of the Gulf is excellent. If you are hoping to hear the waves you may want to stay somewhere else. The waterfall from the lazy river drowns out the waves. Otherwise hood view and location.

We loved all the amenities. The room was spacious but lacked lighting. Did not care for the dogs barking from the hall and balcony.

Beautiful view, bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were terrible. Staff was friendly and efficient. Would stay again but hopefully they change out the pillows often!

hotel staff was great and helpful. restaurant and bar staff not so much. especially outside bar. I get ppl are busy, i was in the service industry a long time. doesn't mean you can't great ppl to let them know you exist. And observed lot of other employees walking around face in phone while other employees were struggling and could have used a hand, but they didn't help. I don't know who's in charge of inventory and ordering product for the restaurant but knowing this is a busy time of the year and not preparing for it then running out of so many of just basic food items was a shocker. Water pressure was weak. hardly lukewarm water in shower. cable service in and out. Again, hotel staff was great. restaurant/bar staff not so much. and a lot of this feedback is towards the ones who didn't help their team and chose their social media app or music instead. thanks for having us.

O’Neil, Shevahn, Amanda and Ron literally made me feel welcome and at home with some of the best customer service and hospitality I think I have ever had! This was by far one of my (and my kids) favorite stays! There were a couple issues however, within the blink of an eye, were addressed and handled. Loved that we could go watch movies at night and swim at the hotel pool next door. Loved waking up and being right on the beach for the sunrise. We will for sure be back!

This was our second year staying at this property, and once again, it did not disappoint! The location is absolutely perfect—right on the beach and close to everything we needed. Customer service is consistently top-notch. Every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional, and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The pool area was clean and well-maintained, and we really appreciated the relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere throughout the hotel. Overall, this has become one of our go-to spots for a beach getaway, and we’re already looking forward to coming back again next year.

Excellent stay! We were able to check in an hour early. Had a gulf front balcony room. Everything was beautiful. Staff was friendly and very helpful when needed. The only downfall was the wedding at the hotel next door. Their music shook our room as we were on the end. But, it was Saturday night and it ended at 10:30. Staff from the Hilton came to check to ensure the noise was in fact from the hotel next door and not an upstairs neighbor. Would definitely return.

The staff are amazing!

Pool area was nice. Broken lights in room. The staff didn't know the difference between a hand towel and a regular towel. 4 peopl in the room and never 4 towels. Building lost power, couldn't get into our room for a couple hours...to take meds, get money, etc. They comped our parking...big deal. We usually stay at Hilton hotels, this one does not live up to the Hilton standards. Very disappointing.

Entire hotel staff was extremely helpful, polite, and professional. Always checking via text message to make sure that we were doing well! Food service and quality of the menu items were top notch! My wife and I will certainly be returning to stay here in the future!

Our first day of arrival(Sunday) didn’t start well. They had a boil water advisory for our entire 6days. I understand that’s out of their control. The problem is that they didn’t offer bottled water to the guest, no ice machines working. We were told “you be the judge if you want to use it to brush your teeth” I just felt as if the Hilton could’ve at least provided bottle waters during this time. We went daily to buy water and ice. On Tuesday a note was slid under the door. It stating that you were to remove your do not disturb signs for work that would be done 9am-6pm until May 9th in your room on the TV. That was awkward not knowing when they would walk in. Today it’s Friday and it started bad. A guy walked in to our room to clean at 9am. Luckily my husband was at the door to stop him. They had it mixed up they had it as we checked out last night. Used the washer today, it didn’t spin out our clothes! The ceiling in front of our room was pouring water from a vent and a hole in the ceiling during the rain storm. An hour later the fire alarm went off and we had to go out in the rain for that! Now as we sit here we have NO water!!!! I CAN NOT make this up! We stay here when we come but we may try another place next time!

This is a wonderful, clean, and beautiful location to stay in FWB. It's directly across from the convention center and close to Destin. The pools are amazing. The staff was friendly and helpful. The beach was pristine!

Construction at the entrance makes it hard to get in and out of the property.

This was our second year staying at this property, and once again, it did not disappoint! The location is absolutely perfect—right on the beach and close to everything we needed. In good locations but too much construction

Great fun family friendly property. You can either walk to the beach out front or utilize the lazy river area. Lovely spot surrounded by tons of food spots and drivable to Destin. Wide huge rooms too

Perfect for a stay right on the beach.

We had a good time there, nice and clean, location is the best.

Pros: close to beach, great outdoor pool, nice and clean bedroom. Cons: Area around indoor pool was not very clean. Daily parking was expensive. Dining option in hotel was expensive. Some guests were drunk during spring break, it would be good if they had security guards walking around the hotel during that season.

We loved the property with the indoor and outdoor pool with easy access that leads directly to the beach. The hotel staff was very accommodating. The hotel restaurant had great food. We would happily stay here again.

We liked the location and pool with lazy river. But staff were not friendly or professional at check-in. Didn't give us any information about the property I had to ask everything. Service at breakfast also not that great. There were never spoons available, sausages over cooked, no oats available very little options. Buffet is not worth the price.

Super friendly and the restaurant was delicious!

With the exception of the pool and the beach front location, this HGI was disappointing. Breakfast should be included for the overall price paid but it is not. Buffet is lacking and not worth the cost of $16 adults/$9 kids. Restaurant for breakfast was understaffed and not at all organized. You had to wait to be seated and served but there wasn’t a clear During a holiday week you expect crowds

Ocean front, clean and maintained pool, what more can we ask for? The food at the hotel's restaurant was actually AMAZING!!!! We ended up dining in/take out from there very frequently. Staff were very nice and helpful. The only issue was the water damage in the bathroom- the shower curtain was way too short so all the water from the shower should drench the floor. We stayed in the junior suite.

Went above and beyond expectations! They answered all my questions and made sure I had all the information I needed. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms with a view are gorgeous! The pool always had floats available. The restaurant I would probably give 4 stars, the food was all cooked perfectly however a wider selection would have been nice to have. It’s mostly basic foods. THE DRINKS ARE GREAT THOUGH. We will make sure we stay again everytime we visit now.
