Lovely hotel, great facilities & friendly staff. The room was clean & comfortable. The pool & spa were great, easy to use. Breakfast was tasty ( go about 10 and the rush was gone) went for a walk in the woods - lovely location a d used the golf bar too (showing the football)

The hotel and grounds were amazing. The reception staff were very professional and friendly. Need improvements in the restaurant and bar as staff weren’t as attentive, spending too much time chatting between themselves and not focussed on the service. Food was very average and didn’t just the prices. Pool and leisure facilities were lovely. Overall a good, relaxing stay.

The room was OK. Room 273. The wash basin enamel was cracked. The water pressure in shower could have been better. Only shower gel was available. Could provide small glasses in the bathroom to rinse mouth round after cleaning teeth. Enjoyed the swimming pool.

Pleasant stay, paid with Tesco vouchers so well worth the cost. Room was a bit dated and tired but very clean. Lots of equipment in the gym and nice swimming pool, steam room and sauna. Had to wait about 15mins to use though because only allow max number of 48 but this is actually a positive as not too busy. Pleasant evening meal and breakfast. Also close to a trail around an old Roman settlement which we enjoyed after checkout

We spent 4 nights here as it is a great location to explore the area. The facilities are fantastic with the golf course, driving range and spa. Although the hotel was busy with golf and spa day guests it never felt over crowded in any areas.. The dining options were varied with something for everyone. The room was well laid out with everything you need and all of the team couldn’t do enough to make your stay a memorable one. There is a large car park and they also have several EV chargers with both rapid and standard chargers available..

A lovely hotel , booked a std double & got an upgrade to a suite , which great even if unexpected. The gym is very good. I ate dinner in the bar which good value, tasty & the service was excellent. The only minor disappointment was breakfast, there was plenty if choice but like most buffet breakfasts the hot food was plentiful but luke warm. I know why hotels do it because it’s a cost saving but so frustrating as everything else about the place was excellent. Not a deal breaker just a frustrating bug bare of mine

We really enjoyed our trip to Dunston Hall and our only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer! We were really impressed with the size of the swimming pool and the fact that there was a separate section for lane swimming. The breakfast was really nice, with a great choice and it was lovely to have a big bed to sleep in!

Our stay was pleasant, staff were very friendly. Food was nice in the restaurant and at breakfast. Spa was alright although there were broken equipment in the gym. We didn’t sleep that well as the pillows were not comfortable. The sink in our room was cracked and decor was dated but otherwise fine.

Beautiful hotel with very attentive helpful staff but the cleanliness i feel lets the place down. The room smelt like asparagus for some unknown reason and the floor still had some hair bands and bits on the floor. Bedsheets had mascara stains on it and was being used by my child so definitely not caused by them. The bathroom tiles are in need of a re-grout and through clean and the pool area could be cleaner. The Tv had no signal on most channels and the refreshments(tea/coffee) wasnt replenished on day 2 until after i had informed reception it wasnt done.(room 365) Breakfast on day 2 was overrun and with a long wait on ordered items it wasnt a great experience there. Offerings were standard, similar to what youd expect at a travel lodge but appeared to be hygienic and enough to offer different tastes but felt a little basic for a 4* hotel. All that said, despite the cleaning being off the mark, the hotel itself was beautiful in a beautiful setting and the staff were very helpful. Espcially the restaurant staff in the morning, so friendly and engaging. I would consider another stay but i think cleaning of the rooms definitely needs to be improved.

The hotel is beautiful and beautifully decorated. Food and drinks are excellent and the ground’s wonderful. The swimming facilities were good however particularly in the changing rooms the floors looked really unclean and out dated. Probably have been regularly washed but over the years the dirt is ground in. Suck a shame considering everything else was great!

Lovely hotel, staff very friendly, professional and helpful. The cleaners came in to the room everyday to make beds etc which was an unexpected extra, but to save on laundry, you need a way we could tell you not to change towels every day! Breakfast excellent with a huge choice and we liked the fact we could have it early, well done to staff who work hard to get it ready for 6.30 am Thankyou

Lovely building and surroundings but bathroom was mouldy, bath panel was falling off. Dinner in the bar wasn’t great and my prawn pasta was very watery , rather than complain I asked for a couple of rolls to mop it up and was given two hard dry bits of brown bread . Breakfast buffet was all swimming in oil .. staff at reception and in breakfast were great and helpful . Think the rooms could do with a make over for the price . Spa facilities are good !!

On arrival staff were friendly and helpful towards me and my husband. Once we received our key card we headed for our room. On arrival we noticed some of the furniture to be a bit worn out. Needing a revamp. The bathroom was where it definitely needed some work. Paint was coming off the door and you could see red underneath the paint job.The bath didn’t go down when having a shower so you were stood in your own water when showering and there was blood or nail varnish on one of the towels. The bathroom switch to turn on the light also had a red mark on it. Not sure if that was nail varnish or blood. Dinner was lovely with extremely polite and helpful staff. Breakfast was also very yummy. If the rooms were upgraded slightly then I think it would have made for a much better stay

Dunston Hall Hotel is a beautiful hotel, full of character and charm and the staff were welcoming, but our experience was marred by the condition of our room. Upon arrival, it was immediately clear that the room had not been properly cleaned. There was visible dust on and behind the furniture, crumbs on the carpet, and even stained skirting boards from spilt beverages. The bathroom was particularly appalling, with mouldy grout between tiles—a clear indication of neglect. In addition, the room lacked air conditioning and the fan provided was filthy and covered in dust, making it unusable. It’s unacceptable that we had to request the room be cleaned and the fan replaced, tasks that should have been handled long before our arrival. This level of carelessness is not what we expected from a hotel of Dunston Hall's caliber. The manager was apologetic and attended to our request, however our stay was impacted by these issues. The health centre facilities were nice we enjoyed the facilities.

Overall a disappointing experience. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and the public areas are nice enough, however my room was very run down and not set up well at all for a 4 star hotel. The window broken and wouldn’t close, the bathroom was in a poor state of repair with cracked basin and tiles coming away from the wall, no shower gel or shampoo (only hand cleanser in shower dispenser), no glasses, no bottles of water etc. Also I specifically asked to be able to charge to my room but when I went to the bar I was told it hadn’t been done. Although a minor inconvenience, this wasn’t expected and summed up the hotel - much promise but not delivered.

Beautiful building. Location was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean but the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were like rocks. Food was expensive. A side of cauliflower cheese came out boiled half to death and covered in bright orange plastic cheese. Mash potato was gritty and cold. Edible if covered in extra gravy and plenty of seasoning. Would be great if real cocktails were served in the bar, not the pre-mixed rubbish you can buy in the supermarket. For the price I paid for the night, I was happy with it. Was cheaper than the local budget hotels in the area for 1 night!

Extremely overpriced for the condition of the hotel and facilities. The bed was very uncomfortable, there were two in our room and both mattresses need replacing, they were very hard and you could feel the springs. The rooms were not very soundproof so you could hear anyone walking past in the corridor, walking in the room above yours, opening doors etc. There was no hairdryer in the room which is very poor for such an expensive hotel, I was unable to wash my hair ahead of a wedding. The rooms need some refurbishment, there were paint and grout issues and the curtain pelmet was half falling off. The breakfast was nice but the service was poor. The grounds and hotel building are nice but overall I wouldn’t stay again given the poor facilities for the price of the hotel.

The hotel is nice overall, how the check-in process was a bit slow with a large queue formed at the lobby area. Instead of scaling up the check in staff it seemed to go from 2 to 1 person and back 2 when they realised the size of the queue. Room was comfortable, comfy bed but very hot. The windows don’t open very far so made little difference to the overall temperature. Noise is a problem with very little sounding proofing between rooms. I was kept awake most of the night by neighbours having loud sex. The breakfast in the morning was lovely and of a very good quality. I didn’t make use of the facilities onsite such as the pool and gym, spa but it looked very good.

Stately house in need of a little TLC, surrounded by carpark in what would have been lovely grounds. Breakfast was a massive disappointment. The hotel was working around renovations but it was poorly planned and spectacularly poorly executed. Eggs, bacon and juice were conspicuous by their absence, but the sausages were surprisingly good. The staff, who spent most of their time running around achieving very little, were either poorly trained, poorly led or nobody at the hotel has ever experienced a good buffet breakfast service so doesn't know what right is. There was one person showing people in to the restaurant meaning a long wait time before being shown to the table. Coffee, which gets brought to you, was very weak and only just drinkable, so when the offer of refills didn't materialize we weren't too disappointed. Pool facilities were ok.
Stately house in need of a little TLC, surrounded by carpark in what would have been lovely grounds. Breakfast was a massive disappointment. The hotel was working around renovations but it was poorly planned and spectacularly poorly executed. Eggs, bacon and juice were conspicuous by their absence, but the sausages were surprisingly good. The staff, who spent most of their time running around achieving very little, were either poorly trained, poorly led or nobody at the hotel has ever experienced a good buffet breakfast service so doesn't know what right is. There was one person showing people in to the restaurant meaning a long wait time before being shown to the table. Coffee, which gets brought to you, was very weak and only just drinkable, so when the offer of refills didn't materialize we weren't too disappointed. Pool facilities were ok.

I loved it didn’t want to go home 10/10 More of A Question but I Didn’t know where to walk around the facility’s as in outside and where not to go due to golf course? And Areas for Improvement A Fridge or Cooler in the hotel room but this is a minor change for drinks or food maybe as top floor gets very very warm in the heat 25*C

The hotel has great facilities and perfect for a one or two night stay. The rooms unfortunately felt quite dated and some of the areas have fixes upon fixes (ie our bathroom had holes in tiles and then filled) which just adds to making it feel tired. Food was nice but quite expensive. I was also disappointed that the menu did not reflect the gluten free options available and I ended up with very limited choice (after being quite excited with the choices on the menu!). I also asked for gluten free toast in the morning as the area was not stocked well - it had ran out of GF bread and cereal but it never came. The fried breakfast station really should have labels on too. There were 2 parties on whilst we stayed, one being a very loud wedding. This is to be expected in a hotel of this size but with the heat and having no air con or fans, it left us with no option but to have windows open and the music went on until very late.

We stayed for two nights in August B&B as part of a mini break to the East of England. All staff were welcoming and helpful. The room had a king size bed and the bathroom was large and adequately supplied. Breakfast was a good choice of pastries and hot buffet...dining at 8.15am meant we had no problem with queues or choice of food. Lovely hotel. Room was clean and staff were friendly. But the door by the lift, located just outside our room, was extremely squeaky. Not sure who was walking around at 3 a.m., but the noise kept me up all night. Unfortunately, I couldn’t sleep well because of it. Hopefully it'll be fixed!!

I had paid for breakfast and went downstairs at 7am only to be greeted by 51 guests from a coach. The staff in the restaurant said that they would need to find me a table in the corner somewhere because they “weren’t aware of 51 guests that had suddenly turned up for breakfast”. We checked in on a Saturday and had paid extra for a early check in,that took over 20 mins for the process whilst they waited to make sure the room was ready,we also pre checked our friends in as their room was a 3pm check in.Unfortunately when they went to check in that took over 30 mins with queuing and they had to recheck in again,even though we had a room number. The whole check,in process was the main disappointment. The rooms were clean and had the usual facilities you would expect. The hotel and grounds were amazing. The reception staff were very professional and friendly. Need improvements in the restaurant and bar as staff weren’t as attentive, spending too much time chatting between themselves and not focussed on the service. I was so disappointed with the service in the restaurant. I have stayed at Dunston Hall before & I love it there, but this time the staff in the restaurant really let them down. It took so long to be served & then the food was bad, took ages for our meal to be dished up, no bearnaise sauce was given to me & no explanation, when I said I had ordered the sauce, he said oh yes you did & then said they had run out of sauce. I asked for the menu to order dessert & I saw the waiter with the menu in his hand just standing chatting & laughing with other members of staff, he clearly didn’t want to be working that night. You expect excellence at a high end place like Dunston Hall as it is a treat to stay there, unfortunately not this time. I won’t be rushing back there.

We had such a lovely stay at Dunston Hall! The hotel is beautiful, our room was comfortable, and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Dinner in the restaurant was a real highlight. The food was delicious, and Kieran made the evening extra special with his friendly, attentive service. He really went the extra mile and made our meal one to remember. The staff at this hotel were excellent, we had a couple of queries that were dealt with immediately. The grounds are lovely and there is plenty of parking. Only a 10 minute drive into Norwich where there is plenty to do.

Beautiful building. Location was perfect. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean but the bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were like rocks. Food was expensive. A side of cauliflower cheese came out boiled half to death and covered in bright orange plastic cheese. Mash potato was gritty and cold. Edible if covered in extra gravy and plenty of seasoning. Would be great if real cocktails were served in the bar, not the pre-mixed rubbish you can buy in the supermarket. For the price I paid for the night, I was happy with it. Was cheaper than the local budget hotels in the area for 1 night!

Nice hotel, could be exceptional with a lot of investment. Nice Spa, bar was okay, restaurant was okay. Young restaurant staff need to speak louder. Breakfast was poor. Overall it was okay.

We spent 4 nights here as it is a great location to explore the area. The facilities are fantastic with the golf course, driving range and spa. Although the hotel was busy with golf and spa day guests it never felt over crowded in any areas.. The dining options were varied with something for everyone. The room was well laid out with everything you need and all of the team couldn’t do enough to make your stay a memorable one. There is a large car park and they also have several EV chargers with both rapid and standard chargers available..

We really enjoyed our trip to Dunston Hall and our only regret is that we couldn't stay for longer! We were really impressed with the size of the swimming pool and the fact that there was a separate section for lane swimming. The breakfast was really nice, with a great choice and it was lovely to have a big bed to sleep in!
