The staff was uniformly friendly, welcoming and happy to have us as guests. They are clearly proud of the property and wanted us to enjoy it. The restaurants were quite attractive but the food was not A plus or even A rating. The spa is beautiful and the staff quite competent but it is way over priced with surprising surcharges. The infinity pool at the Eclipse part of the property is stunning, very comfortable and the staff are quite attentive. There are many possible activities but we mostly took the opportunity to escape the cold winter and read near the ocean. We loved it. May well return and would recommend it to others.

Very elegant, did not feel like a resort . Staff was helpful and very friendly. Quick response time. Bikes, golf carts at your leisure everywhere. Beach was clean and visible from about every viewpoint.

This is a very nice hotel property which combines old with new. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. There are several restaurants on the property. We would recommend Delmar’s and Sugar Mill. We recommend having a drink either before or after dinner at Lester’s located in the Eclipse section of the property. Explore the property-the gym, tennis courts, 18-hole golf course, equestrian center, the two miles of beachfront property, and their spa. You will not be disappointed.

The beach view is amazing and very clean ! Imagine every morning waking up to such a beautiful view. The Infinity Pool was stunning. The staff (Latoya, Carol, Stephen, Adessa etc) were amazing. The GM was also very approachable and amazing. This is a very safe and quiet resort. Just what the Doctor ordered.

Our stay at the Half Moon was AMAZING!!! The entire resort was fit for royalty with amenities and service over and beyond even for a 5 star resort. Great access to private beaches. Some seaweed was present a few feet into the water but it was not bad. Delmare restaurant was incredible both in food and service! The Concierge and front seat were staffed with professionals that made us feel like family. We cannot wait to return!

NOT ALL-INCLUSIVE. The resort is a dream! The staff an absolute joy! The rooms and premises are kept pristine at all times. Fresh coconut water at all times! A must if you’re looking to relax and enjoy a paradise type of beach. Shareable bikes to get around. Two nice pools and lots of open and private beach areas! The food is fantastic. Best island vacation we’ve had! Love Jamaica, we’ll be back!

Beautiful resort that provided the best family getaway for those looking for a fun but more private vacation experience. Infinity ocean side pool offered both relaxation and fun in the sun and the Equestrian Centre provided some fun filled afternoons swimming in the ocean with the horses. While we didn’t bring our golf clubs this time we will do so on our next visit as the course looked amazing and the restaurant on site (Sugar Mill) was fantastic! In terms of accommodations highly recommend the newer Eclipse which is centrally located with great food options.

I liked that the property was quiet and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. I didn't like that they charged for everything! I wasn't even provided water in my room. I had to purchase it and the prices are exorbitant. It's a nice place but not for me.

This property is immaculate and if you are ever blessed to get an upgrade you will be in love forever. It is off to the side so transportation is expensive to go anywhere off property also everything is pay as you go, that can be very annoying.

The staff was exceptionally pleasant, knowledgeable attentive and caring. The rooms were spacious , nicely decorated and cleaned twice daily. The morning buffet breakfast has a large variety of delicious foods. Perhaps they should consider having an evening buffet especially when SugarMill is closed.

The staff at Cedar Bar, Desmond, Caswell and another gentleman whose name eludes me, were amazing. They were friendly and super attentive. The staff at Sea Grapes were also great. Thank you to Nicquette at the front desk also for answering my questions and helping me resolve an issue in a timely manner. The property is very well manicured and beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and maintained throughout your stay. The beach staff will help you get set up to have a comfortable time at the beach. The food at Half Moon is great. I didn’t want to come home. Thank you Half Moon for a wonderful time!!!

The check in was fine but not told when we could check in to our room - but instead told to wait in the bar. Our room is loud as its near the bar with live bands and it has a shared door to the next door room so we can hear them partying until late

This resort is quiet, beautiful, and has everything you need for a relaxing holiday. We stayed in the Eclipse section of the resort and loved being so close to the infinity pool and beach area. The rooms are gorgeous and everything here is top of the line. I look forward to returning!

My husband and I just got back from a five day vacation at Half Moon. This was our first strip there and we absolutely loved it. The property is huge, with many different types of rooms and villas. We'd booked an ocean view room from Expedia and were given a premier suite with balcony overlooking the ocean in the Hibiscus section of the resort. The room was very large, recently renovated, with beautiful furnishings, gorgeous double shower, and an amazing balcony right in front of the beach and the pier. Service is top notch: from checkin to checkout and housekeeping and more. Staff members go out of their way to be helpful and provide the kindest hospitality. Food is good but very expensive, as expected in a non-inclusive luxury resort. We went kayaking, horseback riding, and took yoga over the water! It was amazing. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a very high end vacation destination.

I had a wonderful experience at Half Moon. The staff was friendly, the property was beautiful, the management was accomodating, food was excellent and they had an interesting take on traditional cuisine items. I would also say vegan friendly. Do try out the Sugar Mill and Delmare restaurant. From day one, Fitzgerald, Tricia, Kemoya, too many to name were so accomodating. Ive had experiences at various hotels in Jamaica and by far this has been the best yet. I also like that they didnt have the typical hotel entertainment, thus I was able to have a relaxing vacation. The only con I would say is that the Founders Cove area can be updated a bit. However, this did not take away from the experience. Also forgot to mention the Fern Tree Spa, please get a massage, Denisha was the best. Shes very skilled at what she does. Book the hotel and go you wont regret it.

I would recommend staying on the eclipse side of the property. It looks completely modern new and clean. It’s such a breath of fresh air being in such a quiet luxury hotel that’s still in Montego Bay. The issue we had was that for this to be a five star resort not all the staff members were warm and welcoming and helpful. we had an issue with our shower, not working the first night and the night manager and night staff were so nice and accommodating, and put us in another room. But other than that, most of the staff were not up to par with their service like most five-star hotels we stay at. The lady who checked us in had a bit of an attitude because we wanted to get content because we are travel bloggers. Instead of coming up with a solution, she tried to stop us completely and had an attitude. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want to create content. The hotel pool staff ran out of clean towels that go over the lounge chairs so instead he gave us a regular towels to put on our chairs that is not something we expect at a five star resort. We are really picky with which hotels we stay at so we expect a lot if the hotel is rated for five stars and we just felt like the service was lacking. The property is beautiful quiet and we had a really great time at Lester‘s bar on property. All the staff at Lester’s bar were nice. I think that the staff members need extra training on how to go above and beyond for gas who expect that level of service from a five star hotel.

Spectacular! Every single member of the staff is personable and eager to be of assistance — oodles of traditional Jamaican hospitality x 10. My only quibble involves some of the operational systems in place, especially the multi-tiered meal plans, which I find too cumbersome. I am not an hotelier so I do not fully comprehend the subtleties of the business. For instance, I don’t drink, so I don’t know how quickly someone who consumes a lot of alcohol would bankrupt the establishment, so to speak. My questions to management would be, “Is there a way to streamline meal charges? Why not add an all-inclusive option without the innumerable exceptions?Besides, my sense is that the complicated slicing and dicing in the accounting department is stressing out the employees, leading to occasional billing mistakes — I can see it in their faces, never mind the inconveniences that ensue for guests like me. At least, discrepancies are always rectified with dispatch. Regardless, I actually wish that I could live at Half Moon permanently. The overall atmosphere, the dedicated team working together to make everyone feel at home, and the meticulous tending of what nature has gifted us, is indeed a glimpse of what I imagine paradise might have to offer. I shall return!

Highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The wife and I had a fantastic time and the Butler service was a nice amenity. They were very helpful. Shauna and Dean were extremely helpful and pleasant. All of the bars/restaurants also had exceptional service.

They spent so much time bragging about their high class hotel but when i went to the beach i was locked out because the fancy room key didnt work. Took an hour and had to go through 3 people and walk all over to regain access and he wouldnt give me the room key!! So dysfunctional and time wasting i almost missed my flight. Then when the bellman came for my luggage, he quickly drove off with all my belongings including laptop leaving me behind saying most guests enjoy walking the half mile in the hot sun.

Lovely property and the staff were great. Only hiccup was checking in. We arrived before the 3 pm check-in and were told our room would be ready shortly but waited over 3 hours and after 3 pm for our room to be ready. The only blemish on a great trip. Feeod and drinkare are expensive (even by NY prices) but everything was well done so we did not mind paying

Our stay at half moon was breathtaking. From our arrival to our departure, our stay, there was simply splendid, the service was outstanding from the front desk, check-in, the entire staff, whether it be gardening, housekeeping, beach, cleaning, and transportation, the spirit of hospitality, customer service, and genuine courteousness, was simply amazing. Went for a mother/ daughter trip and felt very safe at all times. Super friendly and super helpful staff! Very relaxing. We loved the food at north pointe bar the best, although it was all good!! Everything here is top notch! Would definitely return, and this is actually my second time here! Accommodations are beautiful and the scenery spectacular!

The Hotel feels like home away from home on a tropical island in the sun. The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and always aimed to please. Our only disappointment was the lack of food choice on the property and we thought the meal plans could be better and more varied. All in all an excellent hotel in a beautiful location. We can’t wait to come back! ❤️

From the airport - all staff I encountered were absolutely lovely, welcoming and extremely helpful. It’s the largest property in the area in terms of acreage - about 400 acres. It’s not overly crowded. Perfect for solo vacay’s, baecations and families. Got to meet some famous actors who were on their honeymoon - which was quite a treat. I love everything about this property! The Spa was AMAZING. The beach was AMAZING. Food and drink are quite expensive - but still a place I would return to without a second thought.

WOW! I visited with my aunt and my mother who has not been to Jamaica in 20 years. What a welcome back it was - the hotel has been renovated and is even more beautiful, the 400_+ acres property is splendid for walks, bike rides and sporting activities - the best part was the staff! Breakfast was the favorite part of the day - the chef and servers were welcoming, warm and professional. Excellent stay! One of the best for us.

It was a truly lovely place, the people were all very friendly and welcoming. However, the food options were limited and while there were several restaurants, some weren't open the days we were there and the few that were always open served very similar items. Costs were also quite high and "all-inclusive" is being used very loosely.
