Listing promises soundproofing, heating, pillow menu — none delivered This hotel averages 9.4 across 600+ reviews, so I’m clearly in the minority — but our experience was so far from that rating that future guests deserve a fair warning, particularly anyone allocated the “Seventy House” annex. The Hotels.com listing for our Classic Double explicitly advertises soundproofed rooms, heating, and a pillow menu. We had none of these. Our room (501) is in “Seventy House,” a separate annex behind the main Palazzo Lorenzo building — not made clear at booking, and noticeably lower quality. Walls are paper-thin: every word from the next room audible. Heating is switched off on 1 May, air-con only. The room was cold. No pillow menu offered. The bathroom has an obvious drains issue producing a persistent smell. On arrival (15 May) we were soaked from heavy rain. Reception said “Nothing we can do.” With no heating, there was no way to dry our clothes or luggage. Breakfast was minimal — limited continental, very little hot food. Had to ask for tea and coffee. The main building looks lovely. The product we paid for was not what we received.

Lovely hotel but a 30 minute walk to the centre with only a few restaurants around the hotel. Breakfast was good and the rooms are comfortable.

Nice Hotel. Not too far from the center. Nice attentive staff. Good Breakfast. I had no time for the Spa but was told it’s nice. Only the rooms to the street side are pretty noisy - so ask for the other side or bring some earplugs.

We could only use the spa once during our 4days stays! And on the 5th December the guy who worked on the reception was terrible and racism as a customer I asked him if he could arrange a transport to airport for me in English he just said to me “ I don’t understand “ then just walked off absolutely ridiculous
