We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Monica. The room was clean and comfortable. It was about a 10 minute walk to the train station and about 15 minutes to the main tour bus location. It was also convenenti to the Duomo. Even though there was no elevator, the staff cheerfully carried our bags both up and back down when we were coming and going which was a big help for 2 seniors. We highly recommend it.

Our room had the bathroom down the Halls from the room. Didn't realize that until we checked in. I would have picked a different hotel if I knew this. Apparently this is common in Italy though but it would have been nice to know ahead of time.

The property was listed as having "partially open bathroom." I thought that meant the toilet was not private from the shower area. Apparently it meant we had to share a bathroom with 6 other rooms! If it was shared bathroom it should be listed that way. Make things clear. When I went to use the bathroom it was obvious someone had been wearing outdoor shoes in there because there were dirty footprints on the wet floor. Also, someone had left the wet sweatshirt hanging over the shower curtain. Also, when I expressed my concern over the bathroom situation to the reception person he was quite rude. The entry way into the buidling smelled of sewage! The original listing for the room said "breakfast included" but when we got there we were told it was not. I also feel sure we booked a queen size bed but ended up with 2 twin beds on opposite sides of the room. The place was very noisy. Good location (near station and Accademy). Check in was at another hotel but very friendly and helpful. Room was basic and clean. Terrace area was lovely & though on busy street room was quiet. Breakfast was as expected, basic but enough. There was no bar which details said there was, so assume you go to the other hotel. As I was travelling alone with my daughter I wanted an area that was away from the room but inside the hotel after a long day of walking before bed, so that was a shame, otherwise very happy with choice for price.

Hotel Monica is a convenient little place within walking distance of all major attractions. For the price, you shouldn't expect luxury, and the rooms are smallish and sparse - ours had a strong smell of camphor, like the furniture had come from a granny's house. This being said, check-in and check-out were speedy and efficient, the prices were amazing, and the room was scrupulously clean. Highly recommend the breakfast - you won't have the choice you'd have in a hotel, but what they do have is good, especially the croissants and fresh fruit. We happened to coincide with very noisy young guests, but there was no noise from the street, and there are cafes and restaurants all around. The rating for the staff doesn't mean they were nice, simply that we didn't interact enough to have much to say. I do recommend this as a decent budget stay, again well located and a short walk from the airport tram. Would stay again :)

Next to the train station and within the historic centre of Florence, so is very convenient. Despite choosing a triple room, the room was not set up as such and instead we had to request this the next day. Property was dated but generally well maintained and clean. Towels were replaced daily. Cold breakfast was included daily and generally good.

Very convenient location to all of florence and in a safe area! There are plenty of local cafés, restaurants, and shops right in the streets around the hotel. Hotel was all that we needed for our stay and the room was clean! Would stay here again!

I knew it was a shared bathroom. But not with 9, yes NINE, other rooms. That was a bit much. So the bathroom was not always the cleanest. At least our room had a sink so that helped. And the best part of our room was the French doors leading to a private balcony deck!! So you climb stairs to her to the rooms. Big deal. You are there to sleep.band the room was always made up for us.

Hotellet låg mycket bra till för oss, nära tågstationen utan att det märktes och nära till restauranger, shopping och centrum utan att det störde oss alls. Vi hade ett rim mot terassen så inget störande ljud. Nut fräscht badrum. Mycket bra tycker jag.

Centralt lite enklare hotel med frukost. Läget precis nedanför spårvagnsstationen Fortezza gör att det är enkelt att ta spårvagnen (linje T2) direkt från flygplatsen (FLR). Från hotellet är det sedan enkelt att gå till alla sevärdheter i Florens. Gatan utanför har dessutom flertalet restauranger och barer. Vår rum (26) låg in mot en mysig innergård och den terrass som hör till hotellet. Vid bra väder kan man sitta där och äta den frukost som ingår. Vi saknade någonstans att lägga väskan men det fanns ett stort klädskåp att hänga i. Även säkerhetsskåp och skohorn saknades. Det var rent men lite slitet i badrummet. Sängen var ganska hård men ok. Däremot var kuddarna mycket tunna och kompakta. Det gick inte att ha dem dubbla heller. Frukosten består av tre olika sorters bröd, smör, marmelad, Nutella, ost, skinka, yoghurt, müsli, frukt samt thé eller kaffe. In- och utcheckning görs på Hotel Mario’s lite längre ner på samma gata. Där kan man även få lämna väskan och nyttja toaletten.

Room was huge, large windows with shutters. Street was narrow and the noise funneled up, even voices. Convenient to train / bus station (about 5 minutes walk).

My stay was very enjoyable. Hotel was adequate but very clean, staff friendly and helpful, lots of restaurants in the same street as the hotel and only a few minutes from tourist centre and train station.

Centralt lite enklare hotel med frukost. Läget precis nedanför spårvagnsstationen Fortezza gör att det är enkelt att ta spårvagnen (linje T2) direkt från flygplatsen (FLR). Från hotellet är det sedan enkelt att gå till alla sevärdheter i Florens. Gatan utanför har dessutom flertalet restauranger och barer. Vår rum (26) låg in mot en mysig innergård och den terrass som hör till hotellet. Vid bra väder kan man sitta där och äta den frukost som ingår. Vi saknade någonstans att lägga väskan men det fanns ett stort klädskåp att hänga i. Även säkerhetsskåp och skohorn saknades. Det var rent men lite slitet i badrummet. Sängen var ganska hård men ok. Däremot var kuddarna mycket tunna och kompakta. Det gick inte att ha dem dubbla heller. Frukosten består av tre olika sorters bröd, smör, marmelad, Nutella, ost, skinka, yoghurt, müsli, frukt samt thé eller kaffe. In- och utcheckning görs på Hotel Mario’s lite längre ner på samma gata. Där kan man även få lämna väskan och nyttja toaletten.

The property was listed as having "partially open bathroom." I thought that meant the toilet was not private from the shower area. Apparently it meant we had to share a bathroom with 6 other rooms! If it was shared bathroom it should be listed that way. Make things clear. When I went to use the bathroom it was obvious someone had been wearing outdoor shoes in there because there were dirty footprints on the wet floor. Also, someone had left the wet sweatshirt hanging over the shower curtain. Also, when I expressed my concern over the bathroom situation to the reception person he was quite rude. The entry way into the buidling smelled of sewage! The original listing for the room said "breakfast included" but when we got there we were told it was not. I also feel sure we booked a queen size bed but ended up with 2 twin beds on opposite sides of the room. The place was very noisy. This was the most unpleasant night I have spent since I was at camp as a child :-( I do not recommend this hotel!

Good location (near station and Accademy). Check in was at another hotel but very friendly and helpful. Room was basic and clean. Terrace area was lovely & though on busy street room was quiet. Breakfast was as expected, basic but enough. There was no bar which details said there was, so assume you go to the other hotel. As I was travelling alone with my daughter I wanted an area that was away from the room but inside the hotel after a long day of walking before bed, so that was a shame, otherwise very happy with choice for price.

Hotellet låg mycket bra till för oss, nära tågstationen utan att det märktes och nära till restauranger, shopping och centrum utan att det störde oss alls. Vi hade ett rim mot terassen så inget störande ljud. Nut fräscht badrum. Mycket bra tycker jag.

Very convenient location to all of florence and in a safe area! There are plenty of local cafés, restaurants, and shops right in the streets around the hotel. Hotel was all that we needed for our stay and the room was clean! Would stay here again!

Next to the train station and within the historic centre of Florence, so is very convenient. Despite choosing a triple room, the room was not set up as such and instead we had to request this the next day. Property was dated but generally well maintained and clean. Towels were replaced daily. Cold breakfast was included daily and generally good.

A fine hotel in a great location on via Faenza. We checked in at a nearby sister hotel and stored our bags there until later. At Hotel Monica everything was just great. This price included a great breakfast on a wonderful patio that we all enjoyed. Complaints? We have none. Highly recommended and very convenient. Would love to stay again.

The place is fine, staff are all wonderfully friendly and the room is clean. The breakfast was fine as well. The only issue is having to check in at another location, that means having to haul your luggage up a full flight of steps, then go back down and go up another full flight of steps or more, at Hotel Monica. Wish the Hotel Monica entrance didn’t smell like a sewer.
