Loved this hotel! Gorgeous environs, and great bonus amenities including a welcome drink of either sparkling water or prosecco, two free cocktails at the bar ($16 each), and a $10 food credit at their restaurant (1 per stay). Loved the heated pool, which was the perfect temperature, and had towels at each chaise lounge and a convenient poolside bathroom. Loved the free coffee in the mornings and the lemon or cucumber water in the lobby all day. The food at the restaurant was spectacular, and bonus points for having an NA cocktail on the menu. Plus it was right across the street from the amazing Original Farmer’s Market, and within walking distance (less than 15 minutes) of Sidecar Donuts, Pho Saigon Pearl, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Would stay again!

The room was clean and roomy. Staff was professional and courteous. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday with no notification, we chose this hotel based on the ease of an onsite restaurant. Also the menu at the restaurant was very minimal. We were not offered our VIP benefits that came with our reservation which was disappointing as well. The entrance to the Hotel was a bit difficult to locate due to all of the greenery growing on the front, we drove past it twice. Again I will stress the cleanliness which was EXCELLENT!

Great location and very cute but the we selected it for the amenities and all - restaurant, pool and bar were all closed the entire stay for a private party. There was no compensation or discounted rates for the loss of amenities and we were very disappointed.

Great boutique hotel in the Fairfax area. Wonderful staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Adorable bright and happy rooms. The only problem was that the parking was 49.99 per day. That was kind of unbelievable. Other than that it was fantastic!

Nice accommodation, well located. Parking at a cost but convenient. Restaurant looked nice but was either closed or booked for a private event when we were there so couldn’t try it. The Grove and market across the road have plenty of good food options.

The hotel sold itself out to Netflix fight restaurant. For one you need a reservation. My party of five did get in but they did not have any vegan menu and they did not accommodate us so we Left and since it’s the only restaurant in the hotel we had to go somewhere else. we did not feel comfortable using the pool because the restaurant was the entrance to the pool. I had to guess with me who could not sit in the lobby and have a drink because the restaurant no longer belongs to the hotel it belongs to Netflix bite. They also decided to clean the sofa and the lobby on the same day me and my guess was there so we had no choice but to go up to my room which had no chair or table so the only place was to sit on the beds this was very inconvenient if I had known I would not have stayed there. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. The Netflix bites pop-up may have been a good business idea for the hotel but very bad for the guests who paid for a room only with no amenities.

We had a lovely stay at this property. Outstanding location- lots of eating options, safe and calm. Very nice staff! Only concern- they have an amenities fee. They add an extra 25 plus 4 per night to drink their morning coffee and use the pool. It is called their resort fee! Was shocked to get a higher bill than quoted by expedia.

Bed bugs all over the bed. I got bites everywhere. After I found out the situation. I have notice three of their front desk people including a supervisor. But after I told them how suffered I got from this. They only give me three poor little bag of alcohol bags. And the guy which is the supervisor was so annoyed when I was asking. They never informed the hotel manager about this situation and never responded back to me. I arrive hotel in the 2 am in the morning. I found out the bed bugs at 6. I only slept around 3 hours a day to deal with this. But they never gave me a solution and cared. I have to get medicine myself. I have been called them all day reaching out the manager, but he was never there. First time is saying he is having a meal right now and will finish in 20 mins. After I called again after 20 mins, they told me to wait for the next day. I am just trying to receive positive and easy solution for this but they never cared. Now I am trying to tell everyone about this and be

Great hotel with beautiful lobby and pool. Customer service was great and in a great area very close to farmers market and the grove. Only downside was the room cleaning. Found stains on some of the bedding and throughout the stay, the housekeeping was getting less thorough. Other than that, everything was great! Would recommend

Room floor was very dirty, front desk said they would tell housekeeping, nothing was done. My child slipped and fell twice in the slippery shower, again nothing was done. In the suite there was one remote for two tv’s, remote didn’t work so we couldn’t even use the tv’s. Valet wasn’t available 24/7 as advertised so we had to self park yet had to pay for valet. Staff was rude at check in. At check out was told that valet fee would be waived due to all of the troubles we had, they said they couldn’t print my invoice to confirm this due to technical issues. When they emailed me of course it wasn’t waived. Tried to follow up, was told a manager would call in 30 mins, it’s been 2 days and no one has followed up. Extremely disappointing.

Great stay, hotel was great. Everything at the hotel was well presented and very clean. The staff were friendly and treated us well. The hotel was well positioned for many activities LA has to offer. Property was in a safe location and we felt comfortable to walk around the streets surrounding the hotel.

Short Stories has a fun, retro vibe. The hotel has a lovely courtyard and it is a relaxing respite after travels around the city. The beds are so comfy and the rooms quite clean. The cons include that the AC goes off when it reaches the designated temperature and then, back on which can be annoying for sensitive sleepers. Also, not much storage space and no racks to put luggage on so it must lay on the floor. If you can deal with those things, it is definitely worth it!

It was an excellent location as far as walking to restaurants, Farmers Market, LACMA, Academy of Motion Pictures, etc but on a bit of a noisy street (Fairfax). Sound proofing was lacking—could hear upstairs guests clomping around all night and early morning, plus their shower (in early am) was very loud. Staff was pleasant and helpful. beds were comfy. We had to valet park despite open spaces right in front of our room. Oh and lack of toilet privacy. Only a large heavy, clear glass door to separate toilet area from bed area so I would not suggest for anyone other than spouse/intimate partners as it was not very discreet as far as sounds, nor covering up.

Great trendy little hotel with jazz music playing in the lobby and beautiful courtyard, with little extras like citrus water in the lobby and a coffee bar set up in the courtyard in the morning. Great place to stay! However, because the in-room heating system is the original to the building, expect noise when it is running. You get used to it though and don’t need it running much.

So cute and chic! Rooms were so spacious clean and very well curated. The beds were so comfortable and the sheets were top notch. Restaurant and outdoor area is a vibe for sure. Highly recommend!

Cute, fun little boutique hotel with nice decor. Came with teen daughter for the close proximity to The Grove. Enjoyed the complimentary coffee in the pretty courtyard each morning. Only downside was the hvac in the room was super loud even on fan mode.

Wonderful location and nice, stylish rooms. Check-in was friendly and helpful. Great housekeeping. Carafe of water in the room was appreciated. Valet staff was great, particularly the person working in the mornings. I wish we were able to recycle bottles. I was a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to extend my check-out by a half-hour. The front desk staff (female) was very unfriendly and had a terrible attitude. I live walking distance from this hotel and often book for this hotel for business associates but I did not realize how bad the customer service was until this very last reservation when I accompanied my client to check in.

We had problems on 2 consecutive days with the safe in our room which was not functioning. Had to wait some time both mornings till an engineer came to fix since all our stuff was inside. We were not compensated, which would have been a nice gesture. All receptionists were a bit grumpy and not really focussed on giving the best service possible with a smile. Food at the bar was excellent. Overall we enjoyed SS hotel, the location was perfect.

I can recommend this hotel. The only negative experience we had related to check-in. We arrived one hour before the official check-in time and were told by the reception that they would need another hour to "get the room ready." Conveniently located near The Grove. Walked to this beautiful mall every day. Rooms were small. Not sure if $10 towards restaurant was VIP amenity. Hotel has restaurant and bar. Lovely decorated patio for lounging around. I’d consider staying here again.

Such a fantastic hotel! We stayed for 4 days and fell in love with the place. The unique style was exactly what I was looking for to make our stay fun. The courtyard was the cutest! So nice to sit out there and enjoy the ambience. Even the restaurant was so cozy and the staff was so friendly! The bed was a bit too firm, but that's just my personal preference. The location was primo, too; close to do many great places all in short walking distance. Overall we LOVED our stay and absolutely will stay again in the future!

For LA, this location is very walkable. Besides the farmers market/grove, you can walk to Swingers Diner or Canter’s Deli, LACMA, Melrose and more. I would highly recommend for first time LA trips

Several museums (Motion Pictures, Automobile, County Art, and La Brea tar pit) in the area. Bus to Hollywood or Santa Monica Piers is very inexpensive with Tap card.

Literally a pump pot with either regular milk or plant-based milk. No half and half, which is a 100% staple in every restaurant, cafe, diner, and gas station in the USA. So I had my choice of buying my own carton or having to go out for coffee every morning, which was a real bummer. Please fix this very easy thing. The prices warrant a decent coffee service in the morning.

This hotel was so nicely done! They really pay attention to all the details — we had the best and most comfortable stay. Very clean and the restaurant is great. The courtyard is so relaxing, this hotel is def a vibe. The location is awesome and a 2 min walk from the grove. Will definitely be back!

Gorgeous environs, and great bonus amenities including a welcome drink of either sparkling water or prosecco, two free cocktails at the bar ($16 each), and a $10 food credit at their restaurant (1 per stay). Loved the heated pool, which was the perfect temperature, and had towels at each chaise lounge and a convenient poolside bathroom. Loved the free coffee in the mornings and the lemon or cucumber water in the lobby all day. The food at the restaurant was spectacular, and bonus points for having an NA cocktail on the menu. Plus it was right across the street from the amazing Original Farmer’s Market, and within walking distance (less than 15 minutes) of Sidecar Donuts, Pho Saigon Pearl, and the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures. Would stay again!

The room was clean and roomy. Staff was professional and courteous. We were disappointed that the restaurant was closed on Monday with no notification, we chose this hotel based on the ease of an onsite restaurant. Also the menu at the restaurant was very minimal. We were not offered our VIP benefits that came with our reservation which was disappointing as well. The entrance to the Hotel was a bit difficult to locate due to all of the greenery growing on the front, we drove past it twice. Again I will stress the cleanliness which was EXCELLENT!

We loved almost everything about this hotel — except one thing, which is a dealbreaker for us. Location is walking distance to museums. The lobby is charming, the room is beautiful and comfortable, the valet service was friendly and prompt, the patio dining was lovely — for dinner. The fatal flaw? NO BREAKFAST. Not even coffee in the lobby! We had to go out to a doughnut shop to get coffee in the morning. The book of hotel amenities lists a Sunday mimosa brunch. Cool! We happily went down to the patio, were actually served coffee, and were given — dinner menus. Oh, we just serve the same menu all day, we were told. We could have mimosas but no brunch. One of the great pleasures of a vacation is to have a fabulous breakfast cooked for you. Not here. Start serving a lovely breakfast and we’ll be back.
