Good nights stay, everything was clean, quiet and smelled good , it was worth the money spent

I had a frustrating experience at Motel 6 in downtown Los Angeles. I booked my stay through Hotels.com and already paid close to $200, only to be hit with an unexpected $25 charge at check-in. The issue? The reservation was apparently for one person, even though I arrived with two. Instead of being understanding or trying to work with me, the front desk insisted on charging an additional fee in cash. There was no flexibility, no effort to help, and no clear communication beforehand that this would be enforced so strictly. When I contacted customer service, I was basically told that because I booked through a third-party, the hotel can charge whatever additional fees they want. That’s pretty disappointing and feels like a lack of transparency. Overall, the experience felt more like a money grab than customer service. Be very careful when booking here—make sure every single detail is exactly right, or you might end up paying more than expected.

The room cleanliness was OK. I had a reservation for 6 nights. Because of changes in my travel plans, I tried to cancel my original reservation for 6 nights and just stay 3 nights. The hotel manager would not allow me to do that even though I let him know of my situation after my first night at Motel 6. This is very unfair. I still left the motel after 3 nights. In addition, I was awaken in the middle of the night several times by police car sirens and firetruck sirens. Also, one morning I was awaken at 5:00 am by someone shouting very loud. He kept on coming back and shouting every 5 min for the following 2 hours. The location is unsafe. I did not feel secure at all. Around the hotel location, there were many homeless people living in small huts on the sidewalk. It smelled terrible going by these sites. Overall, I would strongly discourage someone to stay at this hotel. It felt very unsafe. In addition, the hotel manager did not want to work with you. It was not a pleasant stay overall.
