AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Escazu

Hotel con muy buenas instalaciones y servicio. Me parecio un poco excesivo el precio para lo que es.

Very comfortable hotel, spacious and well appointed rooms and lobby. Great location, many high end shops close by. Fairly convenient to San Jose and the airport. Great display of vintage sports cars!

El hotel es lindo, nuevo, comodo. Nos resulto complicado acceder al estacionamiento, un tanto tipo laberinto. Esta en una zona muy linda, tiene negocios ahi mismo y un lindo restaurante en la puerta y esta a 10 minutos de auto de un shopping muy lindo.

Perfecto para estadías en el cerca de todo y con Parqueo gratis para sus huéspedes.

Pros The AC Hotel is absolutely beautiful! It has a modern decor and a sophisticated atmosphere. You get the wow factor the second the elevators open and you see the stunning lobby. The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. Getting to your room is a bit tricky and so one of the front desk personnel actually showed me to the elevators so that I wouldn't get lost. The rooms are thoughtfully appointed. The use the same electrical outlets as in the US and they had plenty of them throughout the room to charge multiple devices. They even had the USB ports in the walls. There's a coffee maker, iron and ironing board and refillable shampoo, body wash and conditioner bottles attached to the shower wall. I really liked this because I didn't have to use my own. And they are eco-friendly as I do not like using harsh chemicals on my skin. Cons They didn't acknowledge my birthday. I don't typically expect hotels to do this, but it certainly is thoughtful when they do. It shows you that they are paying attention to details. Now, I believe my front desk assistant was newer and so I won't hold this against the hotel, but it may be worth instituting something within your system that will tell the front desk staff to acknowledge a guest's birthday. Just a suggestion. I've always appreciated when other hotels acknowledge this. Also, breakfast isn't included. The buffet is $22 but you do have an a la carte option which can be half the cost, depending on what you order.

The property is very nice and in very good condition, its located on the most expensive real estate in Costa Rica, so you expect the best. Bad check in, they only had one of my two rooms reserved and prepaid. Next morning, I went to work and my 80 year old mom went for breakfast, and they made her pay, nobody told us upon check in that breakfast wasn't included, on top of that at check in I explicitly asked/requested open tab and gave my CC that was charged $300 so my mother could ask anything she wants. At noon my mother card stop working, went to ask for help and they said its because she was checking out that day, really? I reserved and paid for two nights, you guys have to check on your management process. Not a very pleasant stay to say the least. On top of that if you are driving your own car, in and out is tight and not convinient.

Great location and a nice hotel. We stay as it is near the highway that we take to the beach and it has a rental car service. However we did ask if there is a rental car on site and were told no, when, in fact there was. And, some issues with the AC.

It has an underground entrance and I never found an Uber driver who could meet you there. I use a lot of Uber’s to get around in San Jose and this was ver inconvenient. For this reason I would not stay there again.

There was a clump of hair and spots on the unmopped bathroom floor, hair on the unvacuumed carpet, and there was an odor of lack of cleanliness from the floors.

Service was amazing! Our room was cleaned well, it was safe and great shopping and dining options in the area. The staff made great suggestions and the facility offers transportation! 10/10!

La ubicación para lo que mi familia requiere o al evento que queremos. Lo que no me gustó, fue que moví la cama y debajo estaba sucio, inclusive con restos de comida, eso sí me pareció bastante desagradable para un lugar de esta categoría.

Well located but overpriced for a basic hotel. The common areas with carpet stink and the bathroom was filthy. The breakfast was below standards

Britt coffee in the room should be fully stocked Room rate should include free continental breakfast with an upgrade for full Buffett. 3 dollar coffee in the am at the restaurant in a coffee country feels like “too much” Overall . A good experience

Hola me dieron una habitación en el primer piso. Son las habitaciones 300's. La cama muy dura. Amanecí con dolor de espalda. Nunca me había pasado en este hotel. Siempre camas muy buenas.

Place is conveniently located in an outdoor mall, with plenty of restaurants options. Be aware that they only have few king bed options, and even if you book a bedroom with a king bed they will try to put you in a two queen bed room - it happened to me and 2 other couples in my group.

I will tell you this. I think the bed was to hard for me.

Nice clean property. Definitely mostly for businessmen. A very stern and somber atmosphere. The bed was not very comfortable and linens and pillows were well worn out. The staff made a car reservation for our ride to the airport but the driver was 20 minutes late and it was a red taxi in super poor condition with no shocks. For the same price the hotel across the street got us a new private ride in a luxury vehicle that arrived on time. No service at breakfast but they requested a tip! Not sure why this hotel has the poorer options and services (both are Marriott properties), but we will stay across the street next time. Better vibe and better service.

We celebrated my wife’s birthday in San Jose June 26-30th and this property alone was outstanding but the staff especially the night crew was amazing! The entire staff from the front desk to the bar and all around made me and my wife feel at home and relaxed. We are extremely satisfied and we’ll stay again!

When you get in ther is a counter where no one greets you before the elevator, the lobby is located in a 3rd floor. During breakfast a very bored man tells you to sit wherever you want, and NO ONE EVER COMES TO YOUR TABLE, you go to a very bad buffet with a very dry spanish omelet, and dry rice and beans with asorted cheeses and hams, and thats it, and there are jams that have been there for hours and seemed unsafe. Worst Marriot experience ever.

El personal es amable y servicial. Hay seguridad en este barrio exclusivo de la ciudad, y varios restaurantes y consultorios médicos (dentistas, dermatólogos, clínicas), que permite tener acceso a todo solo caminando.

Great location.

The hotel is located in a excellent place (Avenida Escazu) with shopps and restaurantes around and walkable. Rooms are comfortable, clean and the staff very friendly and very helpful. I strong recommend this place to stay in San Jose !!!

The location is great. The food is good. The staff is extremely helpful. Austin Zapata at the front desk was particularly helpful.

La verdad es que el hotel hizo unas pruebas de alarma a las 930am de un sábado.mi hija no pudo dormir de los nervios y solo fue algo de segundos que pudieron hacer en cualquier otro horario. La gente del comedor es muy amable pero el servicio que dan es pésimo. Nunca llevan el plato que uno pide.

Developed a serious sinus infection after staying here. I Ask that the room A/C filter be changed and was informed that they didn’t have any filters available. Breakfast Buffet is $25 per person and not very good. Some of the fruit was spoiled. Do yourself a favor and go to a local soda. Customer service and house keeping are great and the only positive marks at this hotel. The Sheraton down the road is far superior for the price.
