I’ve stayed here many times, the experience is always excellent. The staff is very professional and accommodating. Especially at the breakfast buffet, they are Muy bien! The property is in a very safe area of San Jose, Escazu. There’s two pools and a fully equipped exercise room. I highly recommend this place.

Huge property yet it is still so peaceful that you don't realise it consists of do many buildings. Rooms are great, lots of families, yummy breakfast, 24 hour mini market on the property. The staff are friendly, patient and kind, always ready with a smile. I have already recommended it to friends, and in the past week I have already returned! Lovely place

The spaciousness of the property was great. The fitness center was nice and the one pool that was open was great. There was a lot of construction and repairs happening while we were there. The staff was very friendly. The breakfast was very limited and they charged extra for some things even though it was included.

This was my 8th visit to Villas Del Rio . I love that it’s always a welcoming, clean and safe oasis with close walking distance to shops and restaurants in Escazu . Mauricio and the entire staff and crew are always so kind and helpful and truly do their very best to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible. The included breakfast buffet is consistently delicious and offers a wide assortment of options . The heated pool and Jacuzzi are very nice. They also offer a free Airport pick up and drop off. It’s always a pleasure to stay at Villas Del Rio. Will be returning again soon to my home away from home in Escazu . Pura Vida !

Love this place! Apartment was a bit dated but clean and large! Great bath/shower. (But, I'd rather have it not updated and the price cheaper, so that was a win for us). The property was very nice, clean and beautifully appointed/laid out. The gym, pool and breakfast were excellent. Hot tub was hot, pool was comfy cool...Yay!! Customer service easy and clear and we felt very safe with the gated entrance. Area was nice. Would like to return again!!

I have been staying at the Villas del Rio frequently for the last 8 years. This stay was not good however... The breakfast was terrible and the bed we slept in had mites (scabies) that we discovered the following day. I raised the issue with the management and they are resolving it.

Love this place! Apartment was a bit dated but clean and large! Great bath/shower. (But, I'd rather have it not updated and the price cheaper, so that was a win for us). Nice property with large suites. Working staff very nice and respectful. Note that smaller 1-bedroom suites do not have air conditioner in main living area, but only a wall mounted unit in the bedroom. Two-bedroom units are fully air conditioned. Free breakfast is basically some fruits, breads and sliced cheese, juice and basic coffee. No eggs or oatmeal, etc. Omelets ($4), nicer coffees ($3 to $4), etc. are available for an extra charge. Low grade breakfast was a real disappointment; nothing compared to the breakfast at Marriott Residence Inn (fabulous breakfast).

Nice, clean room. Only drawback - the wooden chairs which when moved around, make incredible noise to those downstairs. I had someone above me who started at 4:30 am and seems to moving their chairs every 5 minutes. Beyond aggravating, and the loss of sleep!!!

I have stayed there a few times and it’s always been good. Staff are pleasant security is pleasant no hassle. They upgraded my room to a big suite for the same price. Wonderful place to stay and safe would recommend anybody visiting Costa Rica to stay there.

Check-in was very easy and the front desk associate, Larry, was so welcoming and helpful. The heated pool and hot tub were fantastic. The continental breakfast had a good variety and included yogurt, fruit, pastries, eggs and gallo pinto among other items. They also offered almond milk for coffee! Safe, central location for our activities with secure parking. We really enjoyed our stay and found it to be a great value.

Having dental work done in area, perfect location. Amazingly appointed friendly staff grocery shopping restaurants within walking. Beautiful pool and wonderful jacuzzi after a long day site seeing or dental work. Can’t wait to go back.

Great stay. Wonderful staff. Very secure nobody gets in or out without checking in with gate security including Uber. shuttle from airport was free for min 2 nights stay. Someone waited for us at airport with name sign on and they called the driver. Very reliable and safe process. Apartments are huge and modern. There is noise from the streets but if you close the windows they are very well insulated. Will definitely stay here again next time.

Lovely stay. Conveniently located. Friendly staff. Nice heated pool. Good breakfast. Convenient location for hospital stays. The only issues we had were with the noise levels. So much traffic, which cannot be helped. But the staff are working, loudly, by 8am, sometimes earlier.
