Origin Austin, a Wyndham Hotel

Nice hotel, comfortable beds. Clean, retro modern vibe. Would definitely stay again. It’s in a cool modern shopping area. Parking is extra. There’s a valet for $34 or you can park across the street in the parking garage for $20 per night.

Only thing I didn't like was the parking situation

Friendly front desk customer service. Clean and spacious room. Valet parking ($35) is somewhat slow and confusing. Great location that is close to good restaurants and a walking park.

Mueller Airport gem. My room was clean, nice large shower, small fridge for drinks and nice furniture. They are pet friendly and have a purified water dispenser near the ice machine on 2nd and 4th floor. Valet or self park. I would stay here again.

AC unit too loud and could not turn off; could not get hot water from bathroom sink; could not get coffee maker to work; bed was very comfortable. $25 fee for parking was an insult.

Origin was a fantastic hotel for our stay in Austin. The location was wonderful - near plenty of restaurants, easy access to freeways/getting around town, and there was a great farmers market down the street on Sunday. The hotel room was lovely, spacious, comfortable, and very cute. The gym was really nice and had a lot of fun equipment. There’s even a water station with both still and sparkling water! The staff was always friendly and accommodating. 10/10!

This was a nice place. The only problem was, the only parking was valet at $35 a night. which was fine, but I would have liked to have known this beforehand. Place was very clean and nice. Convenient location. Got a pizza from around the corner and it was very good. Would stay again. Max

Great location, lots of restaurants, retail stores, movie theater, the only problems is the parking $36 dlls for unlimited valet parking and $15 self parking every time you enter the garage

Absolutely amazing stay! Heather was awesome while checking me in. The room was nice and super clean. Loved everything about this stay. I only wish the gym was open. It was closed for renovations.

It was our first stay here, and my husband and I really enjoyed it. The surroundings were very quiet and family-friendly, and the staff at the front desk were extremely friendly. The only downside was that the hallways on the third floor, where we stayed, had a strange smell. However, aside from that, we would definitely return for another stay.

The bathroom was not clean. Spots all over the counter. Pubes in the shower. Aesthetic is faux upscale finishes. Great area of Mueller, though.

The hotel was very clean and modern inside. Every part of the hotel shows the pride of Austin. The lobby and sitting areas around the hotel were full of fun with books, board games, and an acoustic guitar; which is more suitable for adults. The restaurant seemed wonderful (we did not have a chance to use it). Each floor has an ice/water station and we could get drinking water and carbonated water as much as we need from there. The gym was clean and was available for 24 hours. Very nice. The location was absolutely wonderful. The restaurants and parks are around, and it is very walkable and safe.

I’ll start with what I really enjoyed: the location was great, the area and hotel both felt inclusive (important to me), I personally enjoyed the decor, it really felt like a boutique hotel which I prefer, and the staff that were there when we arrived were fantastic. Things I wished could’ve been different, given this trip was for my mom and my little one: there was a hiccup with room cleanliness when we arrived, and the extraordinarily loud AC made sleep tough for light and moderate sleepers (it cuts on and off and can be a bit alarming when it cycles back on because it is so loud). I don’t fault anyone for the cleanliness hiccup; things happen. We’re all human. The front desk staff removed the concern from the room as soon as they were aware, which was great. I was hopeful that it would be made right by the hotel, and they did offer ~$50 in Wyndham rewards points when I asked them about resolution, but that was it, which isn’t aligned with how most nice hotels might navigate that type of mishap. I hesitated to write this, as I do totally understand that probably everywhere has off days or mishaps. That could easily be what happened in my case, so take this with a grain of salt. There was certainly some solid items in the pro column to my analysis. I’m only sharing as I wished I would’ve seen this experiential feedback when we were deciding where to stay.

Nice hotel. We did have issues throughout our stay with television not working and the water pressure near zero in bathroom vanity.

This hotel is really nice, the only thing I'd say is a complete bummer is that they have TERRIBLE connection, so not even my hotspot worked.

Parking is not included, but available directly across the street. Great restaurant options located within easy walking distance. Loved the overall community that the hotel is located in. Huge park right there! So beautiful. Easy access to the freeway and to UT Austin. Will definitely come back.

Very noisy. All noise from other business can be heard from the room. One of the nights, the restaurant cleaning noise was so loud we could not sleep.

I would have given all 5 stars if it weren’t for the abysmal water pressure in the sink and shower, which per the front desk, is not in their control and they cannot change it. It is such a big deal that I cannot return unless this is changed. There has GOT to be a solution.

We were greeted by Ryan at the front desk, who was lovely and helpful, and the hotel itself was beautiful and clean. Only complaints wwre that our single king room was SUPER small (gave me European vibes on size) and there wasn't a full-length mirror anywhere in the room, which made getting ready for the wedding we were attending difficult, but I would stay there again due to proximity to things aeound Austin and within the nearby square.

A comfortable modern hotel in a developing area. Lots of good restaurants within walking distance and the bar/restaurant in the hotel was convenient and friendly. Abby and Andrea gave us excellent service. As mentioned by others the water pressure in the bathroom sink is pitiful but showers fine.

The front desk staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were immaculate, warm, and cozy. Even the breakfast and coffee were off the hook! A must stay place in Austin, out of the major metro area.

We had amazing service! The staff went above and beyond to be helpful. We arrived late and the room was ready with a dog bed, bowls, and even a puppy treat! I had a phone call business meeting early the next morning and the staff was able to find me a quiet space to take the meeting without disturbing my spouse. We will definitely return!

The hotel is new and the rooms have ample lighting, all your basic amenities, and extremely comfortable beds. The hotel restaurant has strange hours - it was closed for dinner the night I arrived but there are plenty of options nearby. The front desk staff were pretty flighty - they ignored my text request for late checkout and were unhelpful when I needed my car and the valet was nowhere to be found. If service had been better, this would have been a 5 star stay.

Checking in was very frustrating & not a pleasant experience at all. I was traveling with my daughter, but the hotel was booked by my husband, with his credit card. I had the credit card in my possession, but the staff wouldn’t let me check in with it because it wasn’t in my name. They said I needed a credit card with my name on it. I don’t have a credit card with my name on it, I’ve never needed one, because this has never been an issue at any other hotel we’ve stayed at. Furthermore, the room had been paid for at the time of the booking, so I’m not sure what the problem was. I would not recommend Origin Hotel Austin. My stay was extremely disappointing due to both the condition of the hotel and the behavior of the staff. Despite appearances, this is not a true boutique hotel. The walls are so thin that I could hear conversations and even toilets flushing from other rooms and hallways. There's no sound insulation, and it made for a very uncomfortable, sleepless stay. The water pressure was low, and the layout of the room made it impossible to mount or enjoy a TV—something I didn't think I would miss until there was no alternative. The front desk manager, Jesse, was particularly unprofessional. After I booked a prepaid reservation through Hotels.com, the hotel unilaterally canceled it without my consent and rebooked me under a higher rate. When I asked for an explanation, Jesse was dismissive, evasive, and ultimately refused to speak with Hotels.com, despite them trying to advocate for me. I was left to untangle a billing mess alone during what was supposed to be a professional travel experience. His tone and handling of the situation were frankly unacceptable for someone in hospitality. This hotel caused unnecessary stress, disrupted my plans, and made no sincere effort to resolve the issue during my stay. I’ve stayed at budget hotels with better soundproofing and service. If you're expecting a restful stay, transparency, or basic professionalism—this is not the hotel for you.

I stay at orgin almost weekly for work, and as someone who travels constantly, I can’t recommend this place enough. The neighborhood is charming, the rooms are fantastic, and the staff goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. It’s become my go-to spot—consistently great in every way!

Love the location. Hate that parking is not free, though less expensive than downtown parking. Loud bars nearby so if you are sensitive to noise, this place is not for you.

We loved our stay here. It is such a convenient and beautiful option here in Austin. We were a quick drive from all of our desired ATX stops and we enjoyed the muller neighborhood. The farmers market on Sunday was beautiful!

Stayed at this property for one night. Customer service was the best we have had in a long time. The rooms are clean. Would definitely return. It is in a great walkable area with plenty of dining options, and a park nearby.

Great location and lots to do around the hotel

If you want a walkable hotel in Austin close to UT and or down town, this is the place. I wouldn't recommend trying to walk to downtown from here - but there are plenty of shops and restaurants within e walking distance to this place.

The Origin Hotel is absolutely beautiful. Very chic and comfortable – it is obvious from the moment you enter the lobby that a lot of time and thought was put into the design of the building. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. The rooms are exactly as pictured are beautiful and comfortable. There is no room service, but the cafe downstairs is really good. Love this place and definitely adding this hotel to one of my favorites!

The staff was amazing! Helped us with whatever we needed and very friendly. The restaurant that is attached to the hotel was not so good. Our food came out raw one meal. The staff was friendly but we was still charged for the food.

The hotel was easy to access and staff was seemingly kind. Tiffany was informative and friendly. The review ask about free breakfast however there is no free breakfast. The connecting restaurant, The Blue Lacy, closes at 2pm on Monday, so this leave you searching for a place to eat if your hungry. My stay was not negative by any means
