Property is remodel. Seems like the pool is still under construction

Had a good stay. Elevator wasn’t in service and stayed on the second floor. Small issue. Room was clean and nice for the price. Pool was great. Very cold and we stayed on a very hot day. Felt awesome. Overall would stay again for the price.

Good location, very clean rooms and their pool is perf on a hot day!

Looked like the door to the room had a crowbar pry it open at one time. A lot of homeless people milling about around property. Still had a old coffee cartridge in the coffee maker in the room and the shower drain was clogged. Bed had small blood stains on it's sheets. Felt unsafe to leave the car in the parking lot but fortunately nobody broke into the car over night. Lastly, the pool had been drained what looked like a while ago. Coffee and Costco muffins for the continental breakfast.

Easy parking. Quick check in. Clean room. Noisy atmosphere though.

Staff was very friendly, room was clean. Pool and jacuzzi were out of service due to renovations.

Five minutes from the Train station and 900 feet from my conference hotel (it was $600+/night). Parking, if I had taken my car, was ample and freeway access right there. The staff was attentive and the grounds secure.

THIS HOTEL DID NOT MEET ANY OF MY STANDARDS., I BOOKED THE HOTEL FOR TWO REASONS - A POOL AND A HOT TUB AND BREAKFAST, WE CHECKED IN ON TIME, AND WENT SHOPPING AND ATE LUNCH/DINNER AND WENT BACK TO THE HOTEL TO RELAX IN THE HOT TUB AND POOL. WE WENT TO THE LOBBY TO GET POOL TOWELS AND WERE TOLD THAT THE HEATER BOTH BOTH WERE BROKEN, AND THEREFORE, WE NOT WORKING. I HAVE VERY BAD ARTHRITIS AND NEEDED THE TUB FOR MYSELF. NOPE, TOWELS ON THE LOBBY COUNTER, WHO KNOWS WHY, BECAUSE THEY WERE NOT WORKING. AT 915A WE WENT TO GET BREAKFAST AND WERE TOLD THAT BREAKFAST WAS ONLY OPEN 7A TO 9A, AND OF COURSE, THE CHECK IN MAN SHOULD HAVE TOLD US THAT EVENING. NO SIR, HE DID NOT. THEN BREAKFAST THE NEXT DAY, THEY ONLY HAD PASTRIES AND COFFEE, THAT IS IT!!! I WOULD LIKE A REFUND AND I WAS TOTALLY LIED TO.

Full disclosure: I didn't communicate to the staff about this, so they were never given a chance to fix this. The bed was lively. The bathroom was gross. I don't think the bathtub has been cleaned in a long time. There were hairs everywhere. They definitely were not mine; I have short red hair these were long and black.

It was clean - convenient location, no issues

Everything was average and what you expect what you pay for BESIDES the cleanliness. The only thing that looked was clean before I checked in were the beds. The floor was disgusting as well as the toilet and table/counter tops of the table in the room as well as the sink area.

Check in was ok. Walked into the room and into the bathroom and mold was all in the bathtub on the grout! It didn’t look clean at all. Then I looked at the toilet and there was something black son the toilet seat. Luckily I had spray sanitizer and sprayed it down and wiped it. We ended up leaving after our concert and didn’t even stay in the night. The check out person didn’t ask why we were checking out so early or anything. Only good thing was it was a short walk to the venuez

One inconvenience after another: 1. The key did not work. 2. Bedding not clean. Wrinkle pattern and hair indicated sheets were not changed. 3. Bathtub not clean - hair in tub indicates the tub was not cleaned. 4. Room for 2 only had 1 chair for the table. 5. Room for 2 only provided 2 bath towels. No washcloths or hand towels. 6. Noise level was high even for rooms not facing the freeway.

Lots of noise from the freeway and revving engines from the street. There was a visible gap under the door, so noise (and probably bugs) would have an easy time getting in. The floors were sticky in spots, and toilet had visible fecal stains. We won't stay here again.

Clean rooms and friendly staff. Convenient and (actually quiet) location just across the street from old sac.although we frequently enjoy the more expensive upscaled 4 star hotels yet for the purpose of our stay, this is a great price…perfect for a no frills place to comfortably crash when you’re spending most of your time out enjoying the city.

Clean, affordable hotel walkable to Old Town, Sutter Health Field and plenty of dining options.

Rooms were newly painted & room was VERY clean. Our only criticism was the bed. It creaked when we got in or out & the mattress was sloped on my side. Small issues. I didn’t see a microwave. Our check in was great. Staff was really nice & gave us ideas for food.

I’m going to start with the good. Customer service - great, had a small issue with the key card activation and the gentleman was very accommodating Safety - I like how they have the entrance to the rooms requiring a room card to be scanned in order to get in Room size - it was a spacious room, I like the steamer they have to get the wrinkles out and the mirror was nice. The bed was very comfortable, I had adequate linens and nice fluffy pillows Now for the bad. Location - Right off the freeway, if you’re a light sleeper do not stay here. I was woken up so many times from all the semi trucks on the freeway and can hear them rumble, motorcycles, cars with bass and loud exhaust (I stayed on a Tuesday). Didn’t pack my earplugs Cleanliness - first glance it’s clean.I started to notice little things. It looked as though someone dropped brown liquid and it splashed up on the wall down by the base of the bed. Appliances don’t seem to get swept behind. Problems - the batteries on the remote died, tv would turn on but just snow. The bathtub did not drain when taking a shower. Could only shower for two minutes before needing to get out (grosses me out thinking whatever leftover pipe water comes up when it doesn’t drain). The A/C worked but it looked like it was falling apart on the plastic shell. I stayed because I had a meeting the following morning. I was unable to shower, and was unable to sleep. They should offer earplugs. Some individually wrapped ones

It's not a place to rest or sleep. The hotel faces main streets, the rooms don't have double-glazed windows, and the main doors don't close completely. With all the noise from the main streets in front of you, it's impossible to sleep.

TV remote would not change channels

It wasnt a bad hotel but they gotta do something about the weatherstripping around the doors. Sacramento is to hot. Couldn't get the room cooled off

The room was clean, but old with popcorn ceiling, just as an example. The door had a huge gap around the edge and would not close tightly with about a half inch gap. The worst problem with this room was that the air conditioner did not work. only put out room temperature air. There was a small refrigerator that worked. The bed was okay. and soap were included. TV worked fine. There was pretty much no insulation in the walls, though.

Very basic room that I paid nearly $150 for. Traffic is super loud, right there off the 5 at J st exit. The remote to the tv didn't work. Furniture scratched up. Polyester blankets that would keep you warm in a snowstorm - but it doesn't snow in Sacramento. I had to sleep under the sheet and turn on the Air.

I was prepared to give more stars because the room was super clean and comfortable, but I immediately noticed there was a privacy issue. There is a transom above the door where the line-of-sight is from the bathroom area to the hotel across the street. Also, the curtains have a huge gap in them and anyone standing outside the room can look in and see the reflection in the mirror to the bathroom area. With the lights on at night, the room is not private at all. And although there is next to no noise from the other rooms next door and above (which is amazing) there was a lot of noise from outside; traffic noise from the freeway never stopped and construction noise from the building next door was very loud and lasted all day from day two of my week-long stay. I also didn't like that there is no microwave and not enough outlets. But it is better than some hotels and I think it would be worth more stars if it were in a better location.

Please add coffee makers to the room otherwise it was affordable and clean!!

The bed was comfortable with a lightweight but toasty comforter & sheet. The pillows were plentiful and comfy. When the TV didn't work one night, they quickly found another nice room. (He checked to be sure it worked before he moved us, too.)

I was impressed. Very nice and quiet. The staff was perhaps the most friendly and accommodating I've ever seen. I will make it a point to stay there again.

Such great staff so helpful! Carried my luggage and gave me a thank you bag when leaving with water and energy bar. Rooms spotlessly clean and comphy. And quiet. I'll go back.

Each time I've stayed at the Vagabond, the staff has been extremely helpful and kind. I would go back just because of the service.

I highly recommend just staying at the holiday inn across the street for only like $10 more a night. The lack of quality isn't necessary the worst part, not everyone wants a 5 star hotel. However, we continuously got locked out of our room because our keys stopped working (5 key replacements). In addition to construction and drilling in the ceiling/walls at 6 am, there were often men yelling in the middle of the night. The worst part, they tried to charge me an extra $300 after I had left and already paid my full quoted amount upon arrival 6 days earlier. Their reason: the price changes every day. Except I had been quoted the initial amount for a month and a half. After giving them receipts, they backed off but please be careful because this place does not seem genuine or honest.

The hotel was great since we arrived by Amtrak so it was easy to get to, but the guy at the desk was not friendly and not helpful. We went down in the morning to see if they had a breakfast and it was almost non-existent. Would stay there again though if we ever travel to Sacramento by train.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly! I would stay here again just because their customer service was so great. We were in town for a concert at golden 1. Super convenient location within comfortable walking distance. Also within short walking distance of old town. It is by no means the most luxurious, but it is clean, convenient with great service, in what feel like a safe location.

Short walk to Old Town

Great location and walking distance to Old Sacramento and Sacramento River is perfect!

Super close to Golden 1 Center and very nice for the price. It's located right off the freeway so it was easy to get to and walkable distance to many places. Very affordable and would stay here again

Good location, near Old Town, Train Station, Arena, and Stadium, all within reasonable walking distance. Can be loud as you are close to train station and will hear rumblings and train horns during many hours, including the night. Also may have noise from vehicles as location is next to freeway on ramp. Good effort in keeping room clean and plenty of space to for your belongings

Very convenient to train station and Old Town. Budget friendly and relatively quiet for its super busy location. Nicely modern room. Walkable to many amenities including dining options. Limited snack options on site.

Overall, a good deal and great location to ballpark and arena, as well as old SAC and dining. Seems a bit rough around the edges but appears to be efforts toward improvements. Staff was pleasant.

Location!!! Right at Old Town and the bus to the airport. I know where to stay now when i visit Sacramento

A minutes walk to old sac town and access to freeway.

Parking was convenient to all we were doing. Walkable to old Sacramento restaurants and the golden 1 arena.

The room was dirty. There was candy left in the refrigerator. The floor was terrible no carpet I could not walk on it. I had my granddaughter wear her shoes and I would disinfect her feet. The sink look like it was dirty, but it was just old bathtub didn’t look that great either Noisy next to the freeway but motorcycles all night long and all of Bam dog barking. The second night wasn’t that bad continental breakfast was terrible no Jews just soda and water. They did have coffee and tea bagels muffins swimming pool was closed due to find out that when Covid hit the house the homeless and some type of program so things were not that great oh and the bed was metal wasn’t a wooden frame. It was metal and the mattress was very thin oh, and do not mind that the steamer for your clothes was filthy. It was gross. I took a picture. I was supposed to check out on Sunday and I checked out Saturday evening around 5:30pm. I believe I should get some money back some type of discount or credit or something. They were nice so I guess that kind of sums it up a little.

Do not trust the pictures on Expedia, this is a roach motel. Staff was nice rooms were fair but dirty, our room looked like someone was trapped in there and was beating on the door to escape. No ice no convenience they have a pool and a hot tub but with no water in it. No amenities like a dining area wi-fi didn’t work. Wish I had my $193 a night back..

This is in a safe area near Old Sacramento and downtown locations. There is some traffic noise, and there was some hammering at 8:30 AM Sunday which subsided after about ten minutes. Their breakfast needs work. Cupcakes, bagels, butter and jam. Coffee is good. The staff was friendly. It's a good option for the price, but with a few minor changes it could be a great option.
