The bad: The room itself felt like a step above a Motel 6 with sterile gray decor and furnishings that were way too small for the space and bolted into the walls. Guess they're worried someone will walk off with a desk, lol? The bed and bedding were uncomfortable, and the air conditioning was barely functional. The service at the hotel bar was ATROCIOUS. We sat down at around 9pm Friday night and the bartender was more interested in watching a basketball game than taking our orders. We waited well over 10 minutes for him to even look at us, then he ignored us for another several minutes. We wanted some food and a bottle of wine to go, and we wanted to have a drink at the bar while we waited. He reluctantly took our order for a burger, fries, a meatball appetizer, and bottle of wine, and did not acknowledge us again until our food was ready. We had to remind him twice about the wine we ordered and after fetching it he walked off. We were not offered silverware or glasses. We were never offered drinks while we waited. He also charged someone else's tab to our room, which I'm glad I caught when we checked out of the hotel. The good: the view from our room in the 17th floor was nice. That's literally the only good thing about this hotel. For the price we could've stayed somewhere nicer. I would suggest skipping this hotel.

I would definitely stay here again. Perfect location for a show at New Parish or Fox and easy walking distance to great restaurants. Seems brand new and the gym is awesome. I would say there needs to be more water/ice machines, (as in one per floor) it was a hassle to climb stairs or wait for the elevator to get water and ice. Also the tiny market needs a better selection, When I was there they only had sparkling wine and cider, no beer.

Very comfortable hotel. We got the valet parking for $60 a night so we didn’t have to worry about the car. The hotel was a little hard to find because the sign was pretty small. The area felt pretty safe and we were able to walk around easily. Would definitely stay here again.

The toilet broke and wouldn’t flush when we got into the room. Called to have someone come up to fix it. The front desk said they would send someone up. We left to go to a concert and came back and the toilet was still broken. We dealt with it and tried to fix it in the morning. Called again and they said they would send someone up. We waited a couple hours and no one came. We let the front desk know when we checked out and they apologized. It’s frustrating paying for a room and something that is a necessity is broken the entire stay.

cons : couldn’t check in early due to them “barely having enough time to clean” fine. We arrive 5 hours after check ins have begun , around 9pm, we get checked in and head to our room which we find is still dirty. Dirty sheets, unmade bed, coffee cups etc. ekk . Says Pet friendly but the closest area to relieve your pet is about half a mile down the road. Not close at all. Extremely inconvenient and not mentioned at all by the pet friendly hotel with no peeing area. Hotel is surrounded by poverty, homelessness, a rough neighborhood etc. I was not personally very comfortable there at all. Following day waited 10 minutes in the lobby for assistance, asked valet for help and they couldn’t find the person at the desk so I just returned later. Pros : they gave us a new room quickly which held a bigger window for a awesome view of the city. The hotel lobby is beautiful, it is a beautiful hotel. Upon arrive we had great customer service and we’re taking care of quickly All and all I do not recommend this hotel to pet owners.

Felt like a brand new property (maybe it is). Everything was spotless, beds were comfortable, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Will definitely be my go-to whenever I visit downtown Oakland.

Great room, good size, nice city view. Only thing I did not love was the sliding glass bathroom door made the bathroom less private as you could see through it a little and it did not fully close so you could hear what was going on in there as well, also no fan. The breakfast was really nice with a great selection.

Room was small but clean. Bed was not very comfortable and no extra blankets or extra pillows were in the room. Bathroom and shower were nice. The temperature in the room was good. Usually I get too cold or too hot but this room was a nice balance. Valet service was good with very nice and attentive employees.

I liked that the hotel was centrally located and pet friendly. I liked the cleanliness of the room. I liked the large television and program options. I liked the downtown skyline view. The valet were all very kind, professional, and helpful. I didn't like the long wait when I arrived-20 minutes-standing in line because there was only one person at the counter. I didn't like that the front desk would put me on hold with a long wait time when I called for information. I didn't like the $10.00 parking tax on top of the $50.00 valet charge.

I came here to stay the night after attending a concert. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. Walking distance to restaurants and bart station. The only thing I can somewhat complain about was checking in. Long line and only one person at the desk. I'm not complaining about the woman at the desk. She was very pleasant and she got through that line as fast as she could. The hotel could have had at least one other employee trained to check customers in or out seeing as the concierge was just standing there doing nothing. Not his fault, the company should train him to help out.

Clean facilities, great staff, very good breakfast. However not many eating choices and only found a subway and Popeyes open at 2pm. Downtown was desserted and business closed early. No good dining areas open nearby—did not feel safe walking at 6ish pm (lots of shady bars). We had to Uber outside downtown to find a better dining scene.
