The indian lady who checked me in wasn't very informative and it felt like she was rushing me out of her line. I actually ended up asking the black lady questions because she was very informative with who she checked in. The parking was very different. I was very disappointed there was not a pool on the property. Really wanted to be able to relax. Thats what I get from assuming all Holiday Inns Expresses have pools. I really liked the free breakfast, but there wasnt any bacon🙁. The waffle made me smile because I really wanted a waffle this morning. Overall, not a bad experience.

We were greeted by friendly staff members. All the staff members we encountered were friendly. Unfortunately, one of the elevators wasn't working the day after we came which meant long waits for the elevator. Food was delicious, especially the muffins. Hotel was close to the wedding we attended to. Wish there were fast food places nearby or hotel's restaurant was opened for lunch but we snacked on food available in hotel.

Street noise, even on the sixth floor, was excessive. Housekeeping did not visit on the first day. Front desk and shuttle staff were friendly and professional. Though not advertised as such on their website, the onsite restaurant, Burger Theory is only open for breakfast (until 9:00 on weekdays and 10:00 on weekends).

Parking is tight and entry to parking structure is a steep incline and tight 90-degree turn which is difficult if not in a compact vehicle. I was in a Nissan pickup which is not small but not a big full-size truck. Also, the restaurant is only open for breakfast and was closed on the day I arrived. I was given a printed list of alternative eating locations in the area. Parking was $25. Room was okay. Weather was really cold during my stay. I was on the 8th floor and it took 10 minutes to run the water in the shower before it was warm enough to shower. It was close to the stadium (1.5 miles) so that was convenient. I would not select this hotel again. It was $95 bit ended up being $157 with all the taxes and fees and double bed option.

The hotel was conveniently located. The only thing that was a little annoying was their parking garage. Not easy to maneuver, and then to leave, you had to use your room key to open the gate (which you had to use to get in originally), so that was annoying. Other than that, hotel was nice, and so were the staff.

I left the front counter headed to the 4th floor to my room and opened my assigned room and a horrible smell of poop as soon as the door opened up, not to mention a room that had work equipment in front the of the bathroom. I had to go back down to the front counter to be placed in a room down the hall from friends m the same room that was a disaster inside due to construction inside or some type of plumbing issue. The desk clerk offered me some chips and 2 cans of sofa. Such an insult to humanity. We were able to take pictures of the room before the new room was assigned. Horrible experience to say the least.

The staff was very nice and friendly. The room was somewhat clean but bathroom wasn’t cleaned very well. Hair was in tub and the smell of urine was around toilet. Had to go buy bathroom cleaner and air freshener.

Stayed here for a couple nights and the stay was okay. Parking was frustrating to use a keycard to swipe in and out when the machine to swipe was on a steep slope. Rooms were okay…loved the bathroom.

The room was absolutely spotless and convenient enough if you need to be down town for a conference or meeting. They have a train that takes you to restaurants around the city as well. The rooms are small but if you’re there for business that necessarily doesn’t matter. The only thing that was a bit awful was the amount of noise in the halls in the early hours in the morning but other then that good stay.

We were there for the Houston marathon. The front desk clerks were super friendly when we checked in, but the checkout experience was terrible. They offered a 2pm late checkout for marathon participants, but honestly it would have been better to just prepare our stuff and checkout at the normal time than to endure the treatment we received from the checkout clerk Ushi. She was clearly having a bad day, explaining loudly in the lobby to a guest that she was by herself and dealing with all the late checkout marathon guests. When we got back none of our keys worked, so we had to go back down to get them reprogrammed, prompting a scolding about how they were demagnetized so we need to be sure not to put them near a cell phone. Then as we went back upstairs she said “you have 20 minutes!” in a very condescending song-song tone. We got back down at 1:55 and again suffered through her exasperated rudeness, then asked if we could use our key card to swipe to get our card out of the garage. Again in the condescending sing-song, “the gates are open! You don’t need a card right now!” It was really incredible, that’s the word that comes to mind. To treat people like this who just ran a marathon, when you offer late check out and are in the hospitality business - it was astounding. Whoever is in charge should know about this person and put her in a less guest centric position, or I’m sure this won’t be the last review of this nature.

The room itself was quite nice, but my check-in experience was disappointing. The receptionist was rude and seemed to lack an understanding of basic customer service. He mumbled under his breath, making it difficult for me to understand him, and showed little concern for my confusion.

Don’t waste your time. Front desk staff are rude and lazy. Best thing was the shuttle. Amazing job David! Other than that, it’s a waste of money. Go somewhere else.

I LOVED my stay, staff was so friendly and nice, Meghan the manager extremely sweet, David was very helpful and accommodating. We also appreciate the shuttle drivers for the recommendation for food places! Will definitely book again on my next Houston trip.

Receptionist Usha was extremely rude and told me she was going to report me when I asked to extend my stay but didn’t have the credit card on hand that I used to register with the night before. I lost my purse while out the night before and she told me I couldn’t extend my stay unless I provided my credit card again. It was extremely embarrassing as other people were checking in when she said this to me. I will not be staying there again

We stayed here one night before flying home after a cruise. The front desk staff were wonderful! Check in was quick and easy. Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was nice to have coffee and a mini fridge right in the room. The tv provided a lot of channels. The hotel offered a free shuttle within 1.5 miles of the hotel. We used it to go for dinner at Rustic. There are quite a few restaurants within the 1.5 miles. Our driver Nancy was a joy to spend those few minutes with. Breakfast was pretty good. It’s what you would expect. Loved the Texas state shaped waffles! There are hot and cold options, juice and coffee/tea. Restaurant was clean. If I had to stay in downtown Houston again, I would definitely stay here.

Worst customer service they have fees that they don’t tell you about when booking online but when you check in they have all these fees they throw on you place is not clean parking garage looks like a rat motel horrible and scary the area surrounding the hotel is scary and doesn’t feel safe overall book at your own risk.

Breakfast crew did not know how to manage food. Was there for 2 days and both breakfasts ran iut of food and had to wait for more food to he prepared...and when food went out, it wasn't enough for the customers waiting. Tv was broken, but maintenence came quickly. Bathroom had weird configuration.

The stay was great. The staff was amazing and very helpful. The breakfast was ok. I made a waffle in the shape of Texas, which was cute.Just an FYI, they charge $25/day for parking. That parking garage has pretty graffiti, but going up to those gates are a steep hill. It made me feel like i was going to tear up my car. That's my only complaint. The room was nice and cozy. The bed was comfortable and the view was decent. The shuttle takes you anywhere within a 1.5 mile radius which is nice because we went to the House of Blues. Overall, the hotel is nice, just didnt like how steep it is trying to get through the gate and having to swipe my card to get out. If someone was behind me, i would have hit them. I know they can't fix this issue, but it hurt my car.
