Stayed here a few times - quiet & peaceful location at the top of the town - short walk to bus station and 5min walk to shopping area & restaurant. Lovely & nostalgic building. Front lobby & bar/restaurant is decorated in keeping with the building - with bedroom more modernly decorated. Rooms are an ok size - clean & fresh & comfortable - good quality linen & towels - good size TV - iron & ironing board in room - tea/coffee making facilities - quality toiletries Staff are fantastic in hotel & pub/restaurant - relaxed, friendly & professional. 2 areas that could be better - power from the shower and lighting in the room. But overall, another great stay and will stay again

Nice accommodation in heart of Glasgow Theatreland! Clean roomy rooms with good amenities including 24 hour bar and room service. Self served breakfast in the morning filling and hot. Very convenient area just down the road from Buchanan bus station and the subway line. Tons of shopping and restaurants in the area. Super friendly and accommodating staff. Highly recommend this hotel and would stay again!

Couldn’t figure out how to close the window in our room. The front desk and maintenance manger were very helpful. Bed was comfortable. Luggage hold available. Restaurant dining with breakfast and dinner were convenient and good.

Lovely clean, comfortable and nicely decorated room, if a little on the small side. Bed small but comfortable and we slept well, and loved the choice of pillows! Staff were friendly and helpful, and breakfast was excellent although the kitchen door opening suddenly into the breakfast area was a little hazardous. The hotel is in a great location close to Buchanan Street and the subway, and parking is very convenient in the multi storey opposite. Room was described as being soundproofed but wasn’t very!

Great hotel for staying in the heart of Glasgow. Handy for train and bus stations and very clean and comfortable. Great well established restaurant within the building. Staff were all friendly and helpful and very welcoming. Great bed and plenty hot water for morning showers

Give a disabled restroom. Toilet too high. When showering the room flooded because the drain would not drain quick enough. Could not control temperature in room. The hairdryer was broken. When I mentioned these items at check out there was no reply or reaction from front desk.

The staff were all lovely, friendly and accommodating. I was travelling alone so this helped to make me feel relaxed. My room was clean and tidy. A couple of minor things that affected my overall comfort, were that I couldn't fully close the window, so late into the night could hear the noise from people on the street (weekend revellers). Also, I couldn't get the bedside light to stay on independantly from the light in the doorway. I was only there for one night, but if I had been staying longer I would have spoken to the staff to ask what I was doing wrong. Breakfast was great. Lots of choice, plentiful, and very tasty.

Reasonable hotel in a good location. Staff friendly and helpful. The room was very noisy with several large electrical units located about 2 metres outside the window. So not great The breakfast was truly awful. Very possibly the worst attempt at a cooked breakfast that I have ever had the misfortune to eat. You could really taste the savings.

I had to leave at 02.30 hrs on Saturday morning to deal with an emergency back in Edinburgh and could not continue me weekend in Glasgow/ The young chap at the desk was very helpful with bus times etc. He was going to try and get me a refund for the 2 nights I could not stay.

My recent stay at the Holiday Inn was a disappointment. 2 Issues: I have stayed with them several times in the past few years. I prefer HI over HI Express because the rooms are usually a little bit larger – WRONG. 207 was way too small. I went to the reception and politely requested a larger room – none were available. The facts that I had been a member for years and booked it months ago didn’t matter. 2nd Issue: I asked if I could use the meeting room to practice my musical instrument for a little while. They had enthusiastically let me do that in past years. Only a few minutes, in the quiet part of the afternoon, room wasn’t being used at all, etc. I could tell the duty manager had no interest in letting this happen. She said it was up to the hotel management but said she would ask. I could tell she wasn’t going to advocate on my behalf. She must have forgotten to get back to me. So, I found her the next day and asked her what the decision was. As expected – it was a No. So, all in all, I am not a fan of Holiday Inn, Glasgow.

The young lady on reception was very welcoming. After a busy day travelling it was the perfect way to enter the hotel. She took a genuine interest in why I was staying with the hotel, and I did notice she did the same with other guests. She was wonderful.

The front office stay are all unhappy with their jobs. They were always in a bad mood. The cleanliness was okay. The in-house restaurant had good food, but the staff seemed to discourage guests from eating there. We ate there every evening after touring Scotland and every night the different staff told us the same thing - that they are expecting a large party and cannot accommodate us. They would only give us a table after we told them that we were staying at the hotel, and we noticed that their supposedly large party never materialized each night. This happened every single night. Poor customer service. The food when it showed up was good and the exception to the restaurant staff were the guy with the glasses and the red curly haired girl. Sorry I did not catch their names, but they were nice. We had a fantastic trip in Scotland so the lack of customer service at this hotel did not bother us, but it is in a good location.

Hotel is in a great location. We had arrived early, very early in fact as we had a very early flight. We were both exhausted & tried to get into our room earlier. Don’t get me wrong, I fully accept check in is 3pm & we did get into the room slightly earlier, I think it was probably around 2pm, but I just felt that had the hotel wanted, we could have got into our room much earlier. Again, I know check in wasn’t until 3pm, but when you have arrived in a city at like 7am/ hotel before 8am, normally in the past when we try to get checked in so that we can have a sleep, normally hotels would be extra accommodating & get your room ready asap for you. It felt as though, the room was not being made available only because of the check in time & they just didn’t want to let us in too early. I say that because there were others in the same boat as us waiting for their room & when our room became available, so did their room!! I don’t believe that was a coincidence. That was disappointing, given our experience at other hotels has been better

The furnishing was laid out well. I didn't feel cramped moving about. As with other Holiday Inn's I've stayed, this one was also clean and well maintained. It's location (very short walking distance to bus station, train station, restaurants, and shopping) was ideal.

Great stay at the Holiday Inn in Glasgow, perfect location for shopping and entertainment and walking distance from the major transport links. Hotel staff were all extremely helpful and friendly, super fast check in, and eggs and veggie sausage cooked to order at breakfast. Room was a good size for a single person - standard room is a double bed but in the space for a king size so a slight distance away from the bedside tables, but all very comfortable. Would definitely stay again.

A good 4 star in the centre of the city next to the bus station and John Lewis. The restaurant was nice but catered more for the couples than families. No kids selection offered so we ate elsewhere. Would stay there again.

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast restaurant staff were ok generally. The standard of breakfast is ok at best really . You offer pancakes, omelette, porridge etc if you want what is not on the buffet but trying to order was difficult. Standard again was mediocre. Also builders or somebody was making a lot of noise around 7 / 7.30 am which we were not happy about

One night in town after flight. Excellent service and warm welcome from reception staff. Room was warm and clean. Great comfy bed and good shower. Next morning we had one of the best hotel buffet breakfasts in a long time. Great selection and hot food was hot and not dried out with proper fresh grilled tomatoes and tasty mushrooms. Bread was also good quality. Well done folks
