Lovely place to stay Bit high on price but worth it Staff really friendly and professional I use the valet service great at first when grtting to the hotel but when leaving had to wait 40mins

Hotel is still one of our favourites in Manchester. Rooms are comfy and luxurious. Only thing that let our visit down was the Club Brass bar. Service was lacking, cocktails are a premium price with no garnish or attention to detail. They decided to remodel the bar whilst us and a few other couples were having a pre dinner drink. Chairs and tables scraping across the floor isn’t very 5 star. Would stay again but avoid the in house bar. Plenty of nice places outside the hotel to visit.

Hotel was nice, good theme and feel! Staff on checkin were questionable, also a bit weird that the reception is on the 6th floor, otherwise staff on checkout were amazing! the hotel is nice and bed is comfy! Great rainfall shower and good location! I am sure there are cheaper parking options but I am sure they won't tell you that.

Room was clean and tidy. Great spot, with great roof top bar. Breakfast had a great selection, but the actual cooked breakfast was a bit of a let down (hard poached eggs etc).

No it isn’t Batman themed. It’s more art deco in the manner of Great Gatsby and its striking. The theming is beautiful and the staff are attentive and friendly. Even in a cosy club room the facilities are amazing. There’s no gym or pool so if that really matters to you then it’s not for you. Otherwise you’re in for a treat staying here.

The only drawback was the bar/club was only accessible by using the stairs and as l am disabled l felt a bit let down Staff were excellent Room good

Fantastic two night stay at The Gotham, the team were all extremely friendly, and professional, from the reception team to the bar and restaurant team. Enjoyed a drink in the sunshine on the balcony of the rooftop bar and lovely breakfasts in the restaurant. The hotel is very central and we could walk to all parts of the city. Our room ( think it was called a directors room) on the first floor was spacious and had a lovely view of the nearby gothic looking buildings. We would definitely book this hotel again on another visit to Manchester.

Fantastic hotel with a distinct character of its own. All staff notably pleasant and helpful, creating a really warm and comfortable atmosphere. Worth every penny and will definitely return. Using their car parking service is extra but makes things quick and easy on arrival.

This is a small boutique hotel with 60 rooms. It has no proper public spaces. The man on the desk at check-in was condescending. Both bars were not available for residents as they were booked out for private parties. So for this reason I do not recommend this hotel.

Wrong room provided. Partial refund offered as hotel full. Questionable amount ( impossible to verify). Nice staff. Nice breakfast. Decor naff. Scaffolding over all windows so very dark. Only one lift working which meant very long waits / lift stuck on floor.

Lovely hotel. Comfortable rooms and lovely rooftop bar. Bad drain smell in lifts and corridors. Hotel still using mini plastic toiletries bottles.

Hairs in bed, not a clean place to stay

Our stay was truly amazing. Staff so professional, friendly and very helpful. Breakfast superb. Room very plush and decor to very high standards. Cleanliness excellent. Will certainly stay again. Highly recommended.

First time staying at this acclaimed '5 star' hotel but really struggled to see how it has any stars. We stayed in a premium suite (Inner Sanctum Suite) to celebrate our 7yr anniversary. This room comes with a separate lounge area with a projector and smart TV to watch TV/Movies etc. It was meant to be an ideal room for movie nights. Firstly the TV didn't work properly, we had a constant error message every time we tried to put netflix on, Amazon also started to give error messages. The vanity mirror in the toilet was broken, the big mirror inside the cupboard would swing shut every time it was opened (whacked me on the head) and the mini bar area left dirty with dust and crumbs laying around. I told the hotel staff about the issue and was told it would be fixed asap. We came back from dinner to find nothing had been done. I asked them again to have the TV fixed and the other bits repaired. The second day finally an attempt at fixing things but again no result, everything was left unresolved when we came back from lunch. Then my calls to the reception were being ignored, I had to go all the way to reception to speak to anyone each time. On the 2nd night we also didn't receive the turndown service. Upon checkout I was told that we would be refunded a night for the terrible service and experience. It's now coming up for 2 weeks and no communication or refund from Gotham. I've followed up 3 times and no result. I guess people are 2nd class citizens unless your a Molly Mae.

Great location, room was spottless and the bathroon was exceptional with a great shower. Staff also all very friendly.

Overall we enjoyed our stay. The hotel is lovely. Some of the breakfast we had as room service was cold. There was an awful smell in the hotel, in places. This is apparently a local business & they are on with sorting it out. Staff were big as friendly & enthusiastic as previous visits.

An absolutely lovely hotel in every way. Highly recommended. The only tiny negative is the nasty smell in the lifts. I hope they manage to do something about this. It creates a really unfortunate first impression.

Booked here for 1 night to celebrate oir anniversary. Upon arival it became apparent that refurbishment was going on asnthe hotel was covered in scaffolding, whilst we were not disturbed by any noises every single window was blocked and even the terrace bar was blocked - had I known this i wouldn't have booked. Check in was fast and staff great. Room was quirky and few nice touches, bed was really comfortable and the bathroom was great. Breakfast wasn't great its not a full bufffet but the pastries and fruit are which were nice and fresh the full English is ordered and despite waiting 30 mins (restaurant was not full by a long shott) it was not fresh at all, very dry and we both did not eat it - probably the worst Breakfast I've had in a hotel. Overall its a 'nice' hotel and glad I've experienced it but i probably wouldn't stay again as far better ones available.

The air conditioning is terrible, with temperatures being so hot as they are, you’d think they’d have a better air con system. You couldn’t even feel that it was on during our stay.

Lovely venue, great staff and super location. We had the Inner Sanctum Suite which was really well decorated. However, we both had a disrupted night due to how thin the walls are. The noise of the corridor and doors opening and closing transmitting into the room was disappointing. It really let the overall experience down.

I had to check out after my first night as despite booking a suite, it was incredibly loud all night - we heard people shouting, doors banging and loud footsteps which led to an incredibly disturbed and limited night's sleep

Very nice interior. Good breakfast. Very confusing entrance and path to the reception. Reception staff can't smile, speaks in riddles, and doesn't really make you feel welcome. The AC in the room is ridiculously bad. It's also making weird noises. The "hand" shower head in the shower is not detachable. That's just crazy.

Enjoyed our first stay a Gotham. Very nice hotel, room was very luxurious and comfortable. Bathroom and shower great, high-end decor and fittings. Bed comfortable. Good location for everything however parking was a problem due to pride weekend so had to park on Whitworth st which was a 15 min walk away. Room facilities good, fridge and kettle c/w tea coffee etc. Room extras that can be purchased at prices surely aimed at the likes of Bruce Wayne. As it’s an old building the windows are single pane which wasn’t a problem for us but might get street noise during busy nights. Would stay again.

Massively underwhelmed unfortunately. The building works/scaffolding prevented any kind of view from any window. The room itself was very small - nothing like the pictures online. The two steps leading down from the bathroom to the bed are not visible at 4am when using the bathroom. Fell down them into the wall & injured my elbow. At check out, a service charge was added on to the restaurant bill (fair enough), but then a service charge was also added on to the overall hotel bill. For what? Checking me in and out which is their job? Are the staff not paid enough for the role they perform? My room wasn’t turned down for the one night I stayed as we arrived at 5.30pm. Yes, the charge is optional, but the guest shouldn’t have to have this conversation in the check out queue. Pay the staff better to avoid this. Surprised that last orders was 11.30pm for hotel guests on a Friday night. Really disappointed as this was a Christmas gift for my husband in connection with concert tickets & it wasn’t like I paid cheap. Expected so much more for what I paid for one night. Gutted!

Great bespoke hotel. The best in Manchester by far!

we have stayed several times - last year we stayed and they charged us twice which took weeks to sort however it was sorted so we decided to stay again. we had a nice room and megan looked after us well however when i got home i again noticed we had been charged for items we didn’t have. when i called to discuss i was told room service says you had them so you must have and we can’t do anything about it. there is no way we had the items so i have emailed the general manager and am yet to hear back - hotel gotham have again turned a nice experience to one where i am being called a liar

We have stayed at Hotel Gotham many times before and absolutely loved it. Upon check in, the lady at reception remembered us from before and offered us both complimentary breakfast in the morning, which was an amazing and very thoughtful gesture. She is a real asset to the hotel! On the other hand, when we went to the rooftop bar, we were greeted by a gentleman who seemed quite disinterested and grumpy about being there. He was definitely the opposite of the lady who checked us in and the majority of the staff at the hotel who are fantastic.

Not impressed at all really compared to my other stays at the Gotham, which have been explempary The standard room was not great and the service in the bar in the evening was very poor and my girlfriend and I had to wait for 10 minutes Not acceptable Also overcharged on the bar bill Would like a refund

On arriving to the hotel we where greeted by Spike and Jason who gave us an incredibly warm welcome and knowing we where hungry Spike organized a table at the Italian across the road. because we where running late that evening Tanweer was able to delay our table at a well known restaurant in the city. At breakfast we where greeted by a big smile and excellent service by Phoebe. The food was great and the hotel was clean and magical. Megan made sure our exit was a smooth as possible. Great Hotels have Great Staff who love the business as much as the owners. These guys did it in Style .. THANK YOU

Have stayed here many time and the service was as exceptional as ever. Concierge parking is second to none with water, car freshener and thank you postcard on vehicle return. Breakfast outstanding

Hotel Gotham truly exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the unique character of the hotel was evident. The decor is perfectly suited to the building’s heritage and creates an atmosphere that is both stylish and welcoming. Every corner of the hotel is spotless, showcasing the meticulous attention to detail. The food was exceptional, from breakfast to our main meals. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, beautifully presented, and tasted as wonderful as it looked. The kitchen team clearly takes pride in offering a top-notch dining experience. One aspect that truly made our stay memorable was the staff, especially Ruby, who demonstrated professionalism and grace under difficult circumstances. We witnessed Ruby handling a male guest who was visibly under the influence and behaving in a shockingly inappropriate, sexually derogatory manner. Despite the uncomfortable situation, Ruby remained calm, composed, and respectful. Her ability to handle this guest with such dignity and professionalism was a testament to her character and to the high standards of Hotel Gotham’s team. Overall, our stay at Hotel Gotham was unforgettable. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refined, welcoming, and truly distinctive hotel experience in Manchester. A huge thank you to Ruby and the entire Hotel Gotham team for making our stay exceptional – I can’t wait to return!

Great central location

Excellent boutique stay in the centre of Manchester. Great staff and property.

Stylish and very convenient. Beware hidden extras like parking - £50 plus.

Hotel was very nice. Quiet, clean, friendly and centrally located for the business event my company held. Everything was within walking distance which made the experience very pleasurable.

Love hotel Gotham and visited a few times a year. Bar could do with an update but rest of hotel is lovely. Would recommend. Very central city centre location.

It was very hard to find the hotel by car

Stayed here to visit Manchester Christmas markets , great location, fantastic hotel. Parking and concierge is worth the hassle free nature, however Manchester driving seems to have collapsed with traffic so be aware. Breakfast is as good as you could ask for as is dinner having enjoyed both. Staff at both dinner and breakfast were top quality with nothing they would not help with. By coincidence having met at check in, Breakfast and collecting our car at the end of the next day, it is clear that the GM Jenni is a very kind, intelligent and caring person that really wants everyone to have the perfect stay. Due to horrific weather during our stay I watched both Jenni and a gentleman on consierge give out their own personal umbrellas to guests. While the hotel do give all guests umbrellas, they clearly ran out on the front desk and in the case I witnessed, some guests are either too thick or too entitled to realise they had one in the wardrobe. Thank you too all the staff your hard work does not go until noticed and I wish Jenni and her team all the best for Christmas. Ryan and Lauren x

Beautiful room, lovely hotel. I stayed for business. Was very handy location wise.

Stately old building that really leans in to its old-world charm. The room, for the most part, was fantastic, spacious and well laid-out. Our window looked out towards the Grand Pacific, a view that enticed us to try Friday night dinner over there. The rooftop terrace affords a wonderful view across the city, though service up there was not particularly prompt or pleasant. We sprung for the breakfast, which was good enough but certainly not worth the 24 pounds per person. The shower stall also leaked copiously; we left a note but noticed that there was a great deal of aged and painted-over water damage in the area of the leak, so they are likely aware. Walkable to Piccadilly Square, and various nearby restaurants.

The hotel staff in General were very good particularly in the Downstairs area, dealing with parking and entrance. We were very dissapointed to find that the Rooftop bar was closed as that is one of main attractions and found the speak easy uncomfortable and no atmosphere, when i was checking out i mentioned this and was given no inkling of any recompense and person was almost rude, it will temper if we visit again.We were not informed rooftop was out of action Also breakfast on Sat was poor bacon tasted like it had been frozen and rethawed tasted fatty, my poached eggs , white runny, yolk hard didnt think that was possible??

Staff all extremely welcoming. Super comfy bed. Great bathroom products. Loved the theme of the hotel. Dinner was superb. Loved the rooftop bar. Breakfast good although only streaky bacon and that was a bit greasy. Buffet choice was ok but room temperature yogurt is not pleasant. Beware of some extra charges.

Not quite 5 star. Everything was nice and very pleasant but not quite the luxury I would expect. Breakfast also left a lot to be desired, really lacklustre offering for continental - not even yoghurt. small portion full English with cheap sausage, streaky bacon and massively overcooked scrambled eggs. Would stay again but would go to moose coffee down the road for breakfast instead

Stunning hotel - loved the decor and all the staff were amazing. But very overpriced - we stayed on a night when Oasis were playing so I think the price was massively increased. Breakfast was just ok - great coffee but the avo and eggs were cold - and expected more for £30.

Another fantastic overnight stay - room was beautiful and food and drinks excellent!
