The landscaping was over grown. Terraces had severe weather damage. Lack of amenities.

Convenient for a stop off the highway. Very friendly staff. The common areas could use some work and updating but generally fine. The garden is pretty overgrown and neglected but ok to sit out and have a drink.

They need to clean up all weeds

Perfect place for an overnight in Bloomington, IN! Staff was amazing and room was spotless. Coffee they served in the morning was from a local roaster, very impressed! We were in an EV and chose this hotel because they had listed charging access. They did have multiple charging places, but they were only 110v. Just be aware. It served our purpose, but don't plan on pulling in "empty" and getting a quick charge to continue your trip. There are multiple levels 2 and higher charges a short distance from the hotel. Overall, loved the accommodations and would totally stay again!

This is a cute remodeled motel with a lovely courtyard and a really chill bar attached.

It’s always a very nice stay . Everything is nice and clean and comfortable. The bar at the hotel had a small band great music and we ordered something to eat. We definitely will stay there again.

We love cascades for a quiet and easy getaway. It’s everything you need in a hotel stay and they have a lovely garden and a cozy little bar right on site!

Walls are very thin. Rooms are worn.

Place needs some major TLC. Bath tub full of mold. Room smelled of mildew & felt very damp. Bed & pillows surprisingly comfy though. The outside is very neglected. It’s super creepy at night, strange people roaming around nearby. Had an issue with a very drunk/drugged guy in parking lot & needed assistance from front desk. Biggest issue was the cell/wifi service…there was basically none. Kept drifting in & out or none at all. Very disappointing.

We’ve stayed at Cascades many times over the last several years and really enjoyed it. This time was below average for several reasons. Our bed spread had several long black hairs on it. The group of people in the room above partied literally all night long. The breakfast use to included some hot items like bacon, sausage or biscuits and gravy. It’s now just some cereal and toast. Lastly, the staff was less than helpful but more specifically the person who checked me in. The whole experience was disappointing.

Property was disgusting there was roaches in the bed on the floor it was disgusting in the staff was very rude it was a young man that worked on the day shift that was hassling me and giving me a hard time and the room was disgusting

We stayed in room 39. We couldn’t figure out the smell it had. Got to looking & the room had tons of mold in it. They moved our room. The grounds are poorly cared for as well. The rooms were not very clean. I don’t understand how housekeeping never found the mold before us. You could smell it. The entire room was very damp. Horrible experience. We will never stay there again.

Not a bad little place to stay. Looks a little rough from the outside but the room is very clean. The room I had you could see the light coming through around the door but overall not a bad place. Would stay there again

There were bed bugs, but at least the manager moved me to a different room.

There is no hospitality until your 3rd night of stay. There were visible spider webs all over showing the room had not been vacuumed for a long time. The carpet is so old and sticky that there is no walking without shoes inside the room. The towel bar fell inside the tub, and the other towel bar fell as soon as I reached for the towels. The tub was full of black dots and mold on the wall. The room smelled of the cleaning supplies so much that it was hard to breathe. It seemed to me that instead of cleaning, there was stuff sprayed in the room to make it feel like it was cleaned. It was a really bad experience and I will not stay there again.

I loved this hotel. It is like an old fashioned motel where you park in front of your room. They had a lovely garden patio in the back. The bed was really comfortable and the front desk people were both kind and helpful. Even though there were always a lot of cars, I rarely saw or heard anyone else. It was a lovely stsy.

Close to IU campus. Older with some renovations.

We were supposed to get a room with a balcony view but did not. The first night, we were put in a very small room with a view of the storage facility. Awful. I complained and we were moved to a room facing the courtyard but on the ground floor and not the French doors that were in the room I had selected.

Rooms were large, spacious and nice. My only issue was that the shower is quite low so I struggled a bit and I’m only 5’8…but otherwise it was great. I imagine in time they will likely switch it up to hand held

The front desk staff greeted me and had us checked in what seemed like a mere two minutes. She was polite and professional. The room was nice. It has had a recent upgrade. We did notice a slight gap in the door that was enough to let small bugs in. It was about 2 ft up on the bottom and about a ft down from the top. While I was out and grabbed some 3/8" thick peel and stick weather strip and it wasn't quite enough to fill the gap. In the haste of enjoying the beautiful garden and courtyard and how fast check out was, I forgot to mention it to the morning staff. The bed was one of, if not the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on. I told my family the commercial about a HI, needs to be changed. I woke up chipper, and beyond ready to face the day. My wife asked what I was all peppy, and I said, "I stayed at a Cascades Inn last night". Lol. But it's true. That bed was so amazing I pulled the bedding to see what brand it was. It's a hotel exclusive bed, but I'm sure there is something close out there. Just when I thought nothing could get better, then came the shower. It was super hot, and the pressure and volume behind it felt like all the water from all the fire hoses from a 5 alarm fire! It was just an old basic shower head, but the volume and pressure were incredible. We jotted down for the free breakfast which was you basic contenental style. Muffins, breads and bagels, yogurt, fruit, cereals, etc. Still good. I'll be back for sure! No doubt

Hidden gem. The rooms, with their hardwood floors and excellent beds, are arguably more pleasant than the rooms at most of the hotels in town.

The staff and service was excellent. The room had a great bed and was a nice set up for a more affordable motel option. It wasn't the most luxurious place, but I think for the price, this is a great option. The rooms are nice and more spacious than I was expecting. There was plenty of parking as well.

Cascades Inn served it's purpose for us. We were in town to spend time with our daughter. It was a comfortable place to sleep. My only interaction with staff was at check in, but the desk clerk was very pleasant. There was nothing extraordinary about it, but we have no real complaints about it. The only thing I didn't like was that the floor in the room was not carpeted.

This is a nice hotel for anyone looking for a quick place to rest, with considerate and kind staff. I was arriving quite late (after midnight), and the receptionist called me to ask when I would be arriving. When I mentioned my eta, they said they may not be there when I arrive, but would put my room key in a lock-box and send me the access information. I ended up arriving at the hotel while the person was still there and they were able to check me into my room right away. The receptionist was so kind

I am a visiting professor from Notre Dame. I must say that “One con can make lots of pros vanish”. First request, a few staff members must get training on culturally responsive attitude towards guests. Behavior matters most than luxury amenities. However, first red flag: the way one staff was explaining the property rules while checking in, it seemed we are inmates and instructions are being given to prisoners as we see in typical films. Secondly, they assume possibly all non-white people with accent are international guests whereas I’m not an international guest! That was sad to see people are still so prejudiced/biased of colors in such a beautiful diverse country. Finally, Wi-Fi didn’t work the first day even though I asked for help twice. The next day it worked. A staff was very rude, instead of being apologetic, was being defensive as if it’s a problem in my “international” phone whereas I have been living in Indiana for the last two years with this latest iPhone and US mobile network.

Not my first stay. I’ve been staying there for work and it has been very quiet and comfortable. The staff in the hotel as well as the bar are very nice especially Cayla at the front desk who was very nice, helpful, and knows very well the inter workings of the property giving her the ability to answer all questions and take care of any problems

I had a family emergency and they wouldn't work with me on a refund at all.

My reservation got kicked back and was unable to Keep my reservation. No explanation, no nothing, very inconvenient to say the least. Didn't try to do a new reservation or anything. Very poor customer service.

Just a night stay while out of town and then back on the road. Room was nice and clean and was able to Check-in at noon without a fee.. they also had a nice flower garden for a courtyard. Only real complaint would have been their breakfast.No good really wasn't one, and if you smoke, then you have to go literally, like off property to a designated smoking area.You couldn't just smoke outside your room. And they require a two hundred and fifty dollar deposit down on the room which I thought was a bit high.

I will definitely be back. Got there earlier than planned and my room was ready. Front desk clerk let me check in early, she said we will get you out of the rain. Room was clean and nice.

So pretty. The room was just a normal clean hotel room, nothing fancy but not bad in any way. The outside was so nice. My husband and I sat outside multiple times talking in the terrace area. Others were out there also. Will definitely come back. The little hiking option was super nice. I walk with a cane (I'm middle aged) and I was able to easily get around without any issues. Everything was very accessible.

Good clean stay for the rate. Not far from downtown and campus

Great place to stay if you want to attend a IU football game. Just a short walk to the stadium. Saves you the $50 or more in parking.

The room was well maintained, clean with thr amenities. Ample room for parking and my check in and check out experience was quite smooth. The staff were friendly. The location was convenient as it was close enough to the IU campus as well as restaurants and gas stations.

While it is located in a fairly run down area, we found the hotel very clean and affordable.

It was a short trip, we didn’t get to spend as much time as we would have liked to enjoy the outdoor garden. The variety of plants and flowers was impressive. The shower was dated and cracked and the water had to be maxed heat to be warm for the shower. Breakfast left a lot to be desired

The Cascades Inn is a great budget option for lodging in Bloomington. Great location just north of campus, friendly and helpful staff, and on-site bar and grill. Don't let the outside fool you, this old hotel is a diamond in the rough. The rooms are very clean with nice linens and a very comfortable bed. The courtyard area is great with grills and tables / chairs for hanging out. We even grabbed a nightcap in Sleepers Bar before heading to bed. Couldn't recommend more.

Breakfast was poorly provided. There was milk and juice- if you wanted anything else it was not provided. Kroger's is around the corner- they could do a better job at providing the bare minimum.

Our room and the property interior was great. Clean, really nice breakfast area and the best coffee i have ever had at a hotel. Rate was reasonable. Custom great looking omelettes were available in the morning for a reasonable fee. Outside is a bit tired and misleading. The inside experience was great! I would definitely stay here again just for the coffee, lol. Just to clarify this is an old building that clearly has conscientious management and I get the impression renovations happen as funds allow. It is not a new chain hotel type of thing.

Clean room. During my first stay, the room was quite small, but on my second visit I received an upgrade to a larger one (paid extra). The breakfast was very basic — a simple cold spread with nothing cooked. Overall, considering the price and location, it was good value for money
