Parking was a 2-3 minute walk, better than most locations. Staff was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The lobby bar was fairly well stocked and the keeper was great. Short walk to the subway various coffee shops and restaurants. Would definitely stay again. Rooms were clean and quiet. No negatives.

Location was terrific, walkable to everything. The hotel itself was very clean, lobby was inviting. The check-in process was quick and easy. Hotel room was clean. Only complaint about the room was that while the mattress was comfortable, the bed pillows were not comfortable. Gym in the basement is small but has a great variety of workout equipment. Anybody serious about working out should not have a problem. And they have a fancy water refilling station in the gym too. I would stay here again.

The coffee shop George Howell onsite is great. Hotel is comfortable and plenty of special touches to make guests feel welcomed. Location is great, especially if you’re taking in a show. Staff is great.

Loved this hotel. Close to theaters.We had a fabulous meal at the sushi restaurant next door. The hotel aven has a candy bar set up in the afternoon! Great coffee shop in the hotel!

Great hotel. Perfect service. Everyone are nice, enthusiasm and helping a lot. Beautiful bedroom with all free supplies. Very clean modern bathroom. They supply all free snacks and free water. Also give you 1 free cocktail for each day, make sure check it out. We recommend you to choose this hotel.

Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff. The hotel fee is $40 a night, but there were so many free amenities it made up for it. We were given free snacks and water every day and in the evenings there were free wine tastings and a candy bar (depending on the night). They also have bikes and helmets you can use to ride around Boston. Great experience. Will absolutely stay again.

Nice Hotel. Great location in middle of downtown. Freedom trail and Commons just steps away. One big issue is to make sure you budget more than they tell you. They only show the base fee NOT any of the many taxes and surcharges. Plan at least an extra $60 a day in fees.

Wonderful stay. Great hospitality! Everyone was great. Doors were always opened when arriving and leaving. Restaurant Raku was unbelievable. Also great hospitality and really great flavors and lastly Wonderful atmosphere and decorations.

It was an excellent boutique style hotel in a great location! The room was nicely appointed with all the amenities on could ask for! The hotel bar was quaint a nice way to wind down from a full day! I can agree why it was tagged as exceptional !

Pros: the staff were great, always so helpful. FREE bottled water and a variety of snacks in room, plus iced tea, lemonade, and popcorn in the lobby. Housekeeping was excellent. I stayed several days and my room was immaculate each afternoon when I returned from sightseeing. One cute touch - they change the rugs in the elevator by time of day- good morning/afternoon/evening. Cons: the carpets/furnishings have seen better days. Some look worn/stained. The bed was too soft for my liking, but might work for others. Overall, I would definitely stay there again. It may not be the prettiest, but everything else is top notch!

The hotel overbooked rooms for Memorial Day weekend so when my friends and I got there the 2 queens we had booked became one bed and a sofa bed. They asked if that was fine but due to the holiday and multiple events happening in town over the weekend everything was booked so I didn’t really have much of a choice. Once in the room we found they didn’t leave sheets blankets or pillows for the sofa bed and when I went to call the phone didn’t work so I had to walk down to ask for them. Once I complained about this they offered to send someone up with linen and asked if I’d like to have someone sent to look at the phone. For my trouble I was offered a free coffee voucher which felt like a slap in the face considering. I was finally offered the $40 resort fee back which I’ll hold my breathe on getting. After going out and eating dinner we came back to the hotel room for the night. When I went into the bathroom to shower and roll out the bath mat I found pubic hair not only on that but in the shower as well. I get sometimes you may miss a hair when cleaning in the shower but to also find it on the “clean” towel/bath mat then made me question everything else. At this point I’ve been told I’ll be refunded half of what I paid for the room they gave away but I’m so disappointed. I’ve stayed here before last fall and it was lovely. But now I’m just grossed out and worried they’d overbook and give my room away again.

The bed was amazing, frette never disappoints. Although the staff was very helpful, we had things missing from our room (robes/amenities for 2 guests) and a clogged toilet (from previous guests) that had to be addressed a couple times. The floor of the room of tacky and sticky probably due to whatever carpet cleaner they use but it felt damp. The front door/bell hop guys were very kind and welcoming. Mixed feelings about this stay.

This is a great hotel if you are planning to visit all of the Boston historical sites. It is one block away from Boston Commons, where the Freedom Trail starts. All of the major downtown historic sites were no more than a twenty minute walk from the hotel. Many excellent restaurants were also only a few blocks away. Even navigating to and from picking up our rental car for the rest of our trip was very convenient and easy. We also really appreciated the seemingly unlimited supply of bottled water they let us have (historical walking is thirsty business). Some people may consider the rooms to be small, but they are actually perfectly sized for one of the oldest cities in our country. I would recommend asking to stay in the quiet part of the hotel. It really helped us by cutting down on the city noise my mom and I are not used to.

The Godfrey Hotel is an excellent choice based on their location alone. The hotel is clean and quiet. The bedding is very nice and comfortable. Do note the rooms are small. We were displeased that their rooms come with one nightstand which doesn't work week for a couple. The hotel could easily fix this complaint.

Having arrived early, we were very happy to be able to get into our rooms right away. Wendy checked us in…five people, three rooms, and all were clean and comfortable. Wendy was very friendly and helpful and also provided suggestions for restaurants in the area. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. The coffee shop and bar in the lobby were welcome assets.

What an excellent hotel in downtown Boston! The room was most comfortable and clean. When we walked into the lobby we knew we felt a vibe of welcome, upbeat, and friendliness. The staff were outstanding. I was confused in the beginning about a fee, and received a phone call and follow up email explaining the fee. This was service beyond any other hotel we have stayed at. Wow, what a gem hotel!

Excellent from greeting by doorman to Wendy at reception to Arbon with bag service. Three rooms with 5 guests and luggage for a completed cruise plus extra days. Wendy so so helpful. Cheers.

The location was perfect! Almost everything tourist attraction wise was within walking distance. Only had to take a train 2 spectate time to travel to Fenway Park and the Sam Adam’s Brewery. The ony downside to the location was that trash pick up happens almost every weekday at 5am and will wake you up.

The Godfrey Hotel has an excellent location in downtown Boston, close to Boston Commons, the subway and historic landmarks. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not provided but there is a good coffee shop with an entrance to the hotel’s lobby as well as nearby restaurants. The rooms are clean, modern and roomy. Three elevators result in minimal wait times. We both really liked the Godfrey Hotel but there was one noticeable issue. We were on the third floor facing Temple Place. There are two bars down the street that are open until 2 AM Friday and Saturday. The street noise was significant late at night on these two days. I don’t know whether these were isolated incidents but we overheard other guests complaining one morning as well. To be fair when we complained to the staff they were very sympathetic and offered to move us to a different room. I’m sure it’s frustrating to the hotel staff when the problem is out of their control. The Godfrey Hotel is a lovely hotel with an excellent location for exploring Boston but if we were staying there again I would request a room as far away as possible from Temple Pl. and on a higher floor as well.

Just a few quick train rides from the airport, this property is conveniently located near the theater district and numerous restaurants, including the Ruka Restobar in the hotel itself. The rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. With numerous amenities, including a free drink, wine tasting and a candy cart on different days of the week, they make you feel welcome and give your more value for your money. They also went above & beyond when I notified them we were celebrating my daughter's 40th birthday by sending up a complimentary bottle of champagne to our room.
