We (3 adults and 2 kids) stayed here for a few days after staying in Ko’olina. This place is a hotspot and in the middle of some good shopping, eating, and nightlife. It’s located across the street from the international marketplace (there’s a Target and Mitsuwa marketplace inside) and Marugame Udon. Theres also a mcDs on the opposite side. There’s even a bar that’s connected to the lobby that seemed pretty popular. It was hard to get hot water for showers - it seemed semi warm water was around during certain times of the day. Not all rooms have a little kitchen but we were able to ask for a microwave and rice cooker. The property seemed older but had a retro/vintage feel. It was comfortable for sleeping and we had a balcony facing Kuhio Ave if you wanted to people watch or just hang out. What stood out for me though was the staff. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the valets - all super friendly and super helpful at all hours of the day. I think this hotel would work more for the younger crowd since it’s a good location for bars and nightlife - but it worked out for me and my family’s needs with little kids.

The property itself is very old and you can tell since you look at it from outside in comparison with other properties around. They do not keep the place clean. At the lobby the furniture and rugs are full of dirty spots. The pool was always dirty. The employees are very attentive and efficient when you request anything they deliver it in a reasonable time. There was mold in the bathroom, carpets are very old and have a weird smell. It is not a hotel I would visit more than one time. There are plenty of other better hotels around. The location is just excellent. This hotel is in the middle of everything. Good for people on a tight budget. The owner should take care of this property.

The parking entrance on Nohonani St. was hard to find, but the valet staff were helpful. There was loud traffic noise from cars or motorcycles late at night but this was not the hotels' fault.

Does not look anything like the photos online. Very dirty interior. The rooms look like they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. Only one elevator works and all doors to the stairs are locked so you have no choice but to wait for the single elevator. The single working elevator also works at snail pace. You can plan on waiting 5-10 minutes just to get in the elevator.

The fact that they charge $45 for valet parking in the parking lot literally right outside of check out is absolutely ridiculously high. The rooms dont have microwave, the toilets are small low to the ground which makes it hard for physically disabled people. The air and refrigerators were on the blink off and on. Definitely wouldnt recommend staying there.

Property is showing its age and needs remodeling. On site parking is expensive ($45) and Valet only. Restaurant closed for remodeling (no advance notice). Expect a 45 dollars a night for valet parking. This is not mentioned during the rental. Pictures do not depict what the hotel really offer. Shortage of towels every other day. Rented a room for 3 and they kept leaving one towel for all 3 of us. Not a bad hotel but for the additional price of valet parking we could’ve gotten a better hotel

It looks likes its a good deal on expedia with their nightly rates but what they dont tell you is when you bring your rental car, they do not have self parking lot. It should be explained on their ad or website that they dont have self parking and valet is the only option. And they charge you $45 per day for valet… and you cant find a parking outside the hotel because you are in middle of downtown Waikiki. i get the convenience of hotel location, but also show to customers and let us know that you dont have self parking and Valey is the only option at $45 a night. Thats all im saying

The location is the only positive—perfectly placed near restaurants and just a short walk to Waikiki Beach. Unfortunately, everything else was a letdown. Most of the towels had visible stains. The curtains were ripped in multiple places and “fixed” with duct tape, didn’t block light at all, and let streetlight spill onto the ceiling at night. The AC could only adjust fan speed, not temperature. The bathroom was extremely dated and in terrible shape-cracked tiles, mold, stains, and debris in the shower drain. I wore flip flops to shower because it felt unsanitary. My key card stopped working after one use; after two trips to the desk for reprogramming, maintenance finally replaced the lock’s dead batteries. Front desk staff were polite and acknowledged these issues but gave no indication they planned to address them. Sadly, the location doesn’t make up for how poorly this property is maintained.

Room was incredibly dirty. There is brown stuff on the curtains, was not vacuumed, the balcony was a mess, and there was no hot water or water pressure. There’s also bugs EVERYWHERE. Check for bed bugs — there’s a 50/50 chance you have them.

I would not recommend the Ohia to anyone. The only good thing I could say was the valet was very courteous. Although I found it unnecessary and impractical I don’t want to knock what they do and do commend them for always welcoming us with a smile. As for the hotel itself - one thing is being outdated, and then there’s outdated and filthy. Vents caked with dusts, fans caked with dust mold everywhere, every cushions are stained even in the lobby, bathrooms were disgusting, hand marks on the headboard from prior guest, nothing was like the pictures, anywhere. Pay the extra to go somewhere else. I have nothing good to say about this place - you will be astonished at how bad a place could be and will regret booking this hotel.

This is an older hotel that has not been upgraded. The curtains are falling apart from sun damage. The shower is tiny. However it is clean and really well situated. The staff are nice. The pool was clean when we were there and the AC was working well. We got a kettle and the oven worked perfectly for reheating pizza.

The location was perfect. Staff was nice. The beds were comfortable. If you are not going to be in your room most of the time and want a good location this is a good place to stay. Thin walls so not very quiet however it wasn’t too bad with the noise level. For the price and location not a bad place to stay.

Its on the main strip so noise is expected. Our issue is the poor maintenance. This hotel needs a major face lift. Cracks in the walls, paint splash on lights and plugins.

First off this is definitely a budget friendly place to stay. We knew that going into but that leaves a lot of doors open. It’s old. In need of a lot of repairs. It’s small. It’s kind of hodge podge. And to no fault of the hotel it’s quite loud outside primarily become it’s a very central location which we love that aspect. But also because it’s old it could use some sound proofing. Walls are very thin. Recommend requesting room away from elevators. The best was t the worst but not the best. Need new furniture like something fierce. But it was surprisingly clean. And the staff was great. We also got a bag of goodies each day we were there which was a nice surprise. I would lay for that $150/night but all in all our long weekend was enjoyable.

The view from the room on the 15 floor was absolutely stunning — you can see the vibrant Waikīkī skyline and even catch glimpses of the ocean. Waking up to that view every morning was a highlight of my trip. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. The beds were cozy and perfect for getting a good night’s sleep after a day of exploring. 2 balcony’s . The location is ideal — just a short walk to the beach, shops, and restaurants, yet still peaceful enough to feel like a retreat. The staff was friendly and helpful, making check-in and check-out easy. Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Sky View rooms at The Ohia Waikīkī Hotel if you want great value, comfort, and beautiful views in the heart of Waikīkī. 🌴

I didn’t like that it was carpet in the room. The balcony door couldn’t be opened because the bed was so close to it. There was no microwave in the room (I requested for one) there was a stove but no pots or pans provided. Fridge was cold and good. They had basic cable on the tv so that was great bathroom wasn’t good it felt like I was entrapped honestly. I liked that they provided samples - shampoo, body wash, bar soap and lotion and fresh towels everyday. Room did not smell bad but I did get sick being in there. Overall it was a budget friendly hotel for the area and I was thankful to have a private room and bathroom. I Would half recommend and half not recommend to a friend. If you’re not too picky and just need a place to rest your head then yeah but if you’re looking for more I would urge you to go somewhere else

Central location to Waikiki. I booked this property specifically for the kitchenette use to save $ on eating out. There were no pots/pans or utensils in the room or available from the property when we asked for some, which made it useless. We'll not stay here again.

The staff here were extremely friendly, helpful, and amazing. I was surprised at the extra expense for parking, but to be honest, after the phenomenal treatment from the staff towards my family, I plan to stay here again in the future. We had a 12 day trip and stayed in this hotel the entire time. I enjoyed every single second of our trip, and it largely had to do with the phenomenal service at the hotel. - Thank you Ohia. Until we meet again.

This is a great, vintage, affordable place in the heart of the Honolulu/Waikiki shopping and dining district. It's not fancy, but it's clean, well-managed, friendly staffed; and in a GREAT location. Walking distance to all the restaurants and shopping on Kuhio and Kalakaua Avenues, and to Waikiki Beach. Recommend just doing the valet parking since street parking is limited--it's worth it. Great place to stay if you want to be right in the heart of it all affordably.

From checking in to checking out everyone at Ohia was friendly, informative and very helpful. A lot of people checked in and Joshua was excellent at booking our PCC and Sites and Bites tour. The location is actually where you to be in the center of it all ans just two small streets away from Waikiki beach. I would stay there again!

The staff were friendly and helpful. However, I found a cockroach in my room. I asked to change rooms, and the staff let me change, which was good. But during my stay, the air conditioning was broken in the whole building. They didn’t offer any discount for this problem. The next morning, the elevators were not working in the whole building, and nobody told us in advance. Overall, the service was nice, but the hotel needs to improve its maintenance and communication.

The price was RIGHT and location location location. It was enough for what I needed, a place close to everything and in my budget. Sheets and towels and soaps never failed. The actual carpet and baseboards and wall trim and curtains could use updating, but if you don’t mind a bit of a flashback to 90s hotels and bed a safe place to rest after being steps away from the beach and dining all day, it’s perfect. I had one issue with my room assignment but Ethan at the front desk was calm and patience and empathetic which made me love this place. They are human beings who care!

Front desk complained about booking with “third party” in response to our questions. Then put us in a room where you had to exit the hallway to outside (the only room out there ) and said that it was away from others like that was a nice thing. I can only assume why we were sent out there, as I grew up in Hawaii and know some things. I am afraid of heights so this was not a good thing for me. The room was as clean as and old room could be. Room definitely shows its age along with the furnishing. But if you need a cheap room, it fits the bill. It was late and we worked hard all day doing yard work and home repairs so going somewhere else was not a thing. (It was for one night) Nice things about it, a cute bar downstairs , nice toiletries provided, and a little gift bag of drinks and chips given, located near heart of waikiki. Had a terrible ordeal thru out the day and needed somewhere to just rest a bit and re group. Emotions are high and just exhausted. Well, i just booked online really late in the evening. The receptionist was rude by making comments like...oh only now you book your reservation. First off you dont know me, my current situation or anything. NO ALOHA!!! WELL I DIDNT EVEN STAY. It was comfortable for sleeping and we had a balcony facing Kuhio Ave if you wanted to people watch or just hang out. What stood out for me though was the staff. From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the valets - all super friendly and super helpful at all hours of the day. I think this hotel would work more for the younger crowd since it’s a good location for bars and nightlife - but it worked out for me and my family’s needs with little kids.

Great location! Easy walk to Kuhio beach for surfing and swimming. Teen girls loved all the shopping nearby. Great restaurants within walking distance. Target 1 block away for any necessities. Staff was great and they had a snack bag available each morning. Only negative was the shower temp in our room. Room temp to lukewarm. Fix from maintenance was to let it run for an hour before getting in. That raised the temp to slightly warm. Otherwise great stay.

I was a little nervous reading through other reviews but this place was perfect for our stay! It’s only like a 5-10 minute walk to the beach, close to International Market, bus stops. If you’re going to Hawaii on a budget like us, this is your place! Room was clean and had everything we needed. Even has a stove/fridge. We were making s’mores every night :) The hotel gives you a snack bag every morning too and refreshments in the lobby.

Hotel was ok, a bit dated and needs work, biggest thing is remove closet doors and doors over kitchen sink. Small place and they are more trouble then worth. Highlight was front staff Corie (she was awesome) made our stay great as some her colleagues sucked, they could not do their job and know idea what customer service means. Valet team was also great. Price was fair and reasonable for what you got. It is not the Ritz but if on a budget yea would stay again. I am told they may be doing some updating in winter. It is time but could be a solid place. Close to everything and easy walk to the beach. No restaurant attached any longer bummer just a bar.

Good point ・The snack bag we get in every morning was high quality. It would make a great souvenir. Bad point ・The shampoo wasn't refilled everyday. ・There were some days when the drip coffee I drank wasn't refilled either. ・Housekeeper knocked on the door, so I asked them to come back an hour later because we were going out, but when I got back six hours later, it still hadn't been done. I asked them cleaning again.

The general property is under remodel; however, I was on 2nd floor that construction staff said was supposed to be closed. Bugs in the kitchenette area. Bedding was not clean. Carpet not vacuumed and very dirty feeling. The lobby has an overpowering smell of some floral that is off putting to me. If sensitive to smells this is not the place. Staff are friendly.
