Ohia Waikiki Studio Suites

The room had a weird aroma. There was cockaroaches in bathroom. When we got there we were informed the AC was not working and asked if that was ok. Without offering to discount anything. We asked for a fan and all the staff said was we cant guarantee one . The room ended up havimg a fan but it was very filthy dusty but dtaff never checked back on the fan .

I did two stars for how well it was maintained only because the AC was out, however they let me know at the beginning of the check in process. They offered to reimburse me if I wanted to go to another hotel. I declined. Room was pretty stuffy when we first started the stay, but there was a stand fan (dusty so wasn’t as nice and cold as a clean one), but it worked along with having the lanai door open. The room overall was okay, one of the outlets didn’t work. And the one we used to plug the fans in by the bed was loose. Wasn’t a fan of the view but that’s not the hotels fault the building next door hasn’t been touched since it caught fire I think around 2020, so if you don’t care for a view then you’ll be okay. Besides AC issues, one elevator working, and the out of service outlet in room it was a good stay. Staff from the front to the valet were friendly. I didn’t swim in the pool but it was nice looking and shaded.

I’d like to start with the positives before I list the negatives. The location is great. Walking to beach access and the entire shopping centers and food access. The staff was very helpful and nice. Apologetic even. Unfortunately the only updated or clean thing of this hotel is the lobby. Upon arrival we were told there’s no AC and won’t be for even a month. Then was asked if we wanted to keep the reservation. Why would they convey this message to guests the day of arrival and not days prior to? Oh, because people would definitely rebook elsewhere instead they put travelers in a predicament of paying triple on same day reservations or suck it up with no ac. There’s two elevators and only one works for the entire hotel. The hallways have parts of walls literally falling apart and overhead door light hanging off. The rooms themselves are incredibly dirty. The curtains had stains from prior stays. Not recent ones either. The ac vent in the room was covered with dust and the popcorn ceiling around the vents also collected wads of dust. The bathroom floors were dirty and hadn’t been mopped. The corners of the walls to floors had build of “gunk” as in if it was mopped prior the build up just was left there. They appear to have beach towels but two days in a row by 930 am they were magically out of them already. The free check in snack pack advertised was out of stock by 11am but check in is at 3pm? Weird. And lastly the fan offered in room was loaded with dust on the blades.

Air conditioning was broken in the entire hotel upon arrival so cancelled entire trip

Their A/C.....was out of order...!!! Had to use a near by ;hotel..!!! White sands-!!!
