Hotel was a treat to stay in and the staff bent over backwards when there was a problem. The service from staff went above and beyond any expectations. The food was amazing and off the highest quality. The only let down was if you had mobility issues there was problem getting around due to the lifts being out of order. If these had been working would have given 5 stars. As for us this caused a problem but if you were able bodied this should have not affected your stay. The spa was clean and pool was warm and nice to swim in. A trip to the grill and pad is recommended. The high ropes are not for the faint hearted but at 51 still managed to get around. We stayed in the Manor hotel rather than the resort.

A strange place, clearly equipped for conferences (I visited early October). Staying in The Manor House, I was expecting nice old rooms, a bit of tradition, and the entrance was great! But then it morphed into a concrete void of soullessness adorned with carpets. Many of the facilities remained closed even though there were at least three conferences that I was aware of. And I couldn't even get a decent cup of morning coffee as 'all' the coffee shops were shut, and only a high-fee breakfast was on offer. All of the staff were unaware that the cafes were shut - they kept directing me to them, and they were each hard to find. And the Merlin bar, though well equipped for the evening's festivities, could not cope with a simple morning coffee and danish. It was all very strange, and did not lend itself to a 'resort' feel. Basically the NEC with carpets, as far as I can tell. WITH the exorbitant parking fees - you're trapped, so you have to pay!! Disgusting approach to customer service. Entrapment for the big corporates, not good for SMEs. The only saving grace was the spa, which was generally ok and not too tired. Do not come here if you want a holiday with the family! None of the archery, adventure areas were open. And the 'woodland walk' was disappointing and inaccurate to the map. All in all - go elsewhere unless you're on a conference. And expect to drive to Costas just around the corner.
