Large studio room, well insulated so great for Winter stays but no aircon

Very nice room with separate kitchen. Very clean and spacious with comfy beds. Fast wifi and parking right outside our door. And when we asked about laundry facilities the manager offered to have our laundry done for NZ$10. Washed and dried in 2 hours. what great service. Defiantly good value lodgings for the money.

Room was ample size and had large kitchen are. Bathroom was very dated and shower didn’t work properly. The property could definitely do with some updates but for the price it was good.

I had been here before. About a year ago. At the time I thought that the staff were very capable, and they still are, as well as motivated to make my stay comfortable. The property is a short distance from the Centre of Christchurch, and not very far, about 15 minutes by taxi, to the airport. Last year I explained that their were still some repairs needed due to the earthquake. These seem to have been addressed. All the appliances worked well. The Warehouse (Supermarket etc.,) is across the road. There are no doubt many fine hotel's etc., in Christchurch, but none at even close to the value for money. Parking outside your room.

Person greeting and cleaning rooms was nice and polite. Facilities are very old and need a good clean, maintenance and update. Gardens and surrounds were a mess of weeds.

We were only there one night, but it was a nice room with a small kitchen. had enough dishware if you were staying longer & wanted to cook. Very nice & helpful staff.

Property requires maintenance (holes in doors gardens require maintenance-facility is dated)

Not sufficient crockery on arrival, towels hard and gray, tea/coffee not topped up. Easy parking outside room and reasonably quiet even though on a busy road.

Value for money. lovely comfortable bed.. and easy drive to the Riccarton hub/mall (shopping and dining) Warehouse and even an OP shop across the road. Definitely an older style motel but clean and tidy. shower was a little compact and low pressure but otherwise we'd stay again.

The unit was very comfortable but sadly not as clean as we would have liked eg. Mould around all the aluminium joinery, mouldy dirty shower and although the toilet had a ‘clean wrapper’ on it, it wasn’t clean 🙁

Property needs serious up grade , been worn out for years. Freshly slapped on paint covers a lot. Was cleaned well, but cooker was bad inside, plumbing is very old , campsites have better facilities

Motel Stay Review My stay at the motel was a pleasant experience. Vivian was very responsive and easy to communicate with whenever I had questions or needed assistance. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and equipped with basic amenities, making it convenient for my stay. Towels were replaced daily, and the room was cleaned daily, which added to the comfort. The motel is also conveniently located close to shops and cafes, making it easy to grab meals or do a bit of shopping. The pricing was reasonable, offering great value for the services provided. Overall, it was a good experience, and I would recommend this motel for anyone looking for an affordable, comfortable, and well-located place to stay.

Its ok for the money but we only booked for one night. The bed was excellent, large and nice bedding. No8, where we stayed had no smoke alarm however.

The owners were good at communication and friendly in their txt messages. The place was clean and tidy. However: This property is very dated, with old chipped bedroom cabinets, stained basin and an incredibly uncomfortable, saggy bed which the springs could be felt through. If I’d been planning on more than one night, I’d have checked out and moved elsewhere.

Vivienne and George made our stay very enjoyable, and we were able to stay in the lodge without any issues. All the facilities were excellent, and the bed extremely comfortable. Heaters were available when the weather turned colder. After staying 11nights we were sorry to have to leave for our next destination.

Although the location was good, the place was old, especially the bed which had what must have been a broken spring as it literally sunk to the side when you were in it. Also the constant noise from the cars passing by, the businesses outside, and/or the nearby freeway will definitely cost you some hours of sleep.

I found the manager to be helpfully flexible when the airlines cancelled my original flight due to weather and made me a day late. Unfortunately, because of the change they were unable to accommodate me for the full length of my stay and I was forced to seek an alternative for my final night. This is mostly due to all of Christchurch\'s more affordable accommodation options being near capacity with government funded welfare beneficiaries and "emergency" housing beneficiaries. The motel is on one of the area\'s busiest streets and is also just across the road from Christchurch\'s train switching yard. So between the incessant throbbing of train engines, and the roar of trucks and local lead-footed drivers the room is far from quiet. I was in a room closer to the street and the motel did have some rooms that were set back quite a ways so maybe they are quieter. The room was threadbare, the settee cushions split, the bed mattress had well worn hollows from many previous patrons, although the sheets and towels seemed clean. The shower lining was coming off in places. Everything was dated and worn. Once bitten, twice shy.

Old but cosy

Great location close to everything. Quite and nice setup. Only minor issue was a stuck water tap in the kitchen sink. Vivian was a friendly staff member and can’t fault the place. Highly recommended and will be back next Christchurch stay.

An older style motel that was very comfortable & provided good value for an overnight, stay not far from the airport. Very friendly staff.

The people in charge were great our Aussie phones did not work, so the owner lent us his.nothing was to much trouble. we will be going back there again.

Good location. Close to shopping area. Got everything we need for a reasonable price.

It is handy to head south from the city. We had a unit at the back and it was very quiet - very much appreciated. We could also have our two small quiet dogs there and being at the back meant it was very safe for them too.
