Staybridge Suites Austin South Interstate Hwy 35 by IHG

Our stay was good. Breakfast was okay, not the greatest. My only concern and complaint would be the lighting in the parking lot. It was too dark, no lights at all. We had to park in front of hotel in the restaurants parking lot because it was lit up well.

Great room. Everything was great except the elevator which stank of something and the stairwells were hot and stuffy. No pleasant way of getting to the 4th floor, and we came in and out several times.

Great place, breakfast, nice restaurants near by (walking distance), i was surprised they charged $7 for parking.

Hotel would have gotten 5 stars but they advertised an airport shuttle and didn't actually have one. It only runs Mon-Fri. The front desk said they would contact the driver to see if they could pick us up. They never did. We ended up getting an Uber to the airport for an extra $57. Could have stayed closer to the airport.

Always stay here when I come to Austin and this is the 3rd or 4th time I’ve been here since December and it’s great . Only constructive criticism I would have would be 1) get better lounger chairs and maybe some canopies or something for a little shade at the pool. 2) elevators are blazing hott and smell no matter when you get in them.

Amazing staying! The only problem that we got was the elevator not working properly, but it was fixed during the night.

All in all it was a good visit. I just wish the gym equipment had been working!! Both treadmills are broken. Hot breakfast was good

Expedia misrepresented that this hotel has a free airport shuttle. The hotel and its staff were excellent. The manager went out of his way to help me get to the airport which I greatly appreciated. I would have given it 5 stars except Expedia had advertised it as having a free airport shuttle. When I called for a pick up at the airport I was told that the hotel had a limited shuttle service between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Since it was after 5 p.m. I had to find another way to get to the hotel because my hotel reservation was not refundable. I found a cab which was over $50. The next morning I asked if the shuttle could take me back to the airport and the shuttle driver was not on site yet. The manager took me to the airport himself which was above and beyond the call of duty. My complaint is not with the hotel, but with Expedia for its misleading advertising about the availability of an airport shuttle.

Loved the fact that it was like an apt. away from home. Great bonuses like kitchens in the room, clean, spacious rooms, outdoor firepit, BBQs, pool, amenities to make a long stay comfortable. Staff were very helpful and always willing to provide what was needed to make the stay comfortable. Would love to see some non-stick fry pans in the rooms, as well as pot scrubbers. Electric kettles would be nice too for those who drink tea vs. coffee.

Did not have enough light in the rooms, halls, etc. and the gym had nice equipment that did not work!! Neither of the two treadmills worked, the seat on the bicycle would not stay at another height kept falling down. Breakfast was not very appetizing!!

We were happy with our room, though the dark paint made the room a bit gloomy. Overall the hotel was nice though management should have hall carpets throughly cleaned, specifically around the corners and entryway to rooms.

The Good: Nice laundry room; machines are free; single-load laundry soap $1. The workout room is not bad; 2 treadmills, an elliptical and a cycle; plus hand weights, weight machine and a bench. The breakfast buffet looks decent, although I didn\'t eat there myself, but went down for coffee every morning and saw others eating. The beds, pillows, and linens are very comfortable. The room is a decent size. Kitchen area has everything you need. The Bad: The hotel is getting tired. Although the towels and everything you touch appears clean, you can see that grime has built up in the corners. Although the room smells fresh and the carpets don\'t smell, they also don\'t look very clean. Again, the toilet, shower, and sink were clean, but not sparkling clean. I think most 3-star hotels have gone to this model "light touch" cleaning. That means that you don\'t get a full service every day; the maid service checks in to empty your trash and provide clean towels; taking away the dirty ones. They will make up your bed, but not with fresh linens. As I was working out of my room, I told them to not bother making my bed. The Ugly: I made the mistake of watching the maid clean the kitchen sink with a rag and no cleaning solution, just water; then she used the same rag to wipe down the kitchen counter. I didn\'t follow her into the bathroom to see if the same process was used, I just wiped everything down with alcohol after she left.

My stay at this hotel was unpleasant. First night I went in the middle of the night to use the bathroom and felt something on my foot look down and it was a big cockroach. Killed it and then when it was time I let the staff know. She didn’t believe me and said it might have been a different type of bug. So I went and got the trash can from the bathroom and showed it to her. She didn’t look surprised and didn’t ask me if I wanted to change rooms. I was in shock!! The carpets are dirty and has a smell to it. The room just felt warn down. I had one more night there so I decided to stay. The next morning my daughter turned on the lights to the kitchen and saw another cockroach roaming around. How disgusting!! Also, they had ants roaming around the bathroom. I have never experienced this in any hotel. Saturday’s breakfast was very disappointing. Nothing like they showed on the pictures of their website. I hope they take care of their bug infestation because my stay was not pleasant.

The property had many issues with cleanliness, all the common area trashcans were overflowing numerous times during the 2 days, dirty towels laying in the hallway in front of multiple doors on our floor, dirty silverware in our room... Then there was the non existent Breakfast buffet where they didn't keep the food filled, out of fruit at 830, ran out of waffle batter, when they put out some food, there were no clean plates, trash was overflowing and didn't clean any of the tables. When this was brought up at the front desk, was like they just ignored and said someone will come over and check on it. Paying 7.50 a night to park in a restaurant/movie theater parking lot was just insane. Will not be staying here again or recommending to anyone.

Dirty carpets, bad-smelling room

Our stay was amazing from check in to check out. The hotel was very clean. All of the staff was very polite and professional. Will be my first choice on our next stay in Austin

We got a suite and were greeted by cockroaches upon arriving back to the hotel one night. It was very inconvenient to change rooms at 2 am. Our group ended up being split into different rooms and after showering a HUGE spider surprised my friend that she had to dry herself with a washcloth and ended up leaving to a different hotel that evening. Because we booked through a hotels.com the hotel refused to give us any kind of refund. The staff was nice and understanding but there is just no excuse specially when we paid a little under $1000 for our stay! Will not stay here again!

Everything was great. Everything was clean. Everybody was helpful.

There were roaches in the room.

I had to walk down a hall that was swap everyday. The carpet was so wet it splashed when I walked. They only has little box fan blowing on the carpet 40 feet long. God only knows what was behind the wall I could not see. I am worried about mold. I will not be going back.

We were very impressed with our stay here. We have the two bedroom suite. It was very cozy. The beds are very comfortable. The rooms are nice sized. The 2 bathrooms was really nice. It is located close to everything. Check in and out was very easy. We would stay here again.

When we checked in our rooms air conditioning wasn’t working properly but the guys at the front desk got us into a new room next door within minutes. Rooms were large with a full kitchen!!

We booked and paid for a 2 bed, only to be contacted and offered a 1 bed because they were out of 2 beds. We were not reimbursed for the difference. Upon arrival we found out we would have to pay for parking on top of the $200 we paid for a room we did not get. Once we got to the room we found the TV's were not connected, the sofa bed had no bedding and the bathroom tiles were loosely sticking out causing my husband to injury to his foot during our stay

They did good with the check in process, the suite was up to expectations. The mattress on the pull out sofa was poor quality and even my 6 year old found it difficult to sleep on it. The breakfast was well managed on the weekend. However weekdays while I was there appeared mismanaged, ran out of bowls , hash browns were as soggy as they can get etc. I am sure with a little attention they can do great as they did over weekend. Rest of staff was very courteous and pleasant.

The room was in a bit of disrepair. The cabinet doors were broken and drooping. The stove vent fan didn't have knobs. The pocket door to the bedroom with double beds was a repurposed exterior door, peephole, and all that wasn't even suspended from the track. The upstairs guests had children with a 4-hour tumbling session that rocked the wall art and ceiling fixtures. The front desk would not intervene until after 10 pm. I do not recommend.

Property was nice unfortunately the room we got air conditioner was dumping water onto rug. Hotel fully booked no other rooms available. Maintenance tried fixing and used a shop vac on rug. Hotel management wouldn’t give discount on room. Even though they acknowledged there was a problem. Feel sorry for whoever gets room in future because it will be a moldy mess.

AC wouldn’t bring the temperature below 74 but ran the entire time. The thermostat was close to where the unit was so it was cooler at the thermostat. The living room and master bedroom were hot! The master bedroom was around 80 degrees. The beds were wore out and had zero support. The WiFi was terrible, the tv channels didn’t work, the guide in the tv didn’t list any of the shows. The tv had an option to stream but wouldn’t even go to the screen to stream. The people walking around in the floor above us you could hear like they were giants.

The air condition did not work properly. We complained every night we were there three nights they ended up giving us box fans.

Great place to stay for a weekend trip. Only complaint is the noisy air conditioning in both rooms. It's loud enough to wake you up.

The front desk lady was so rude and disrespectful we ended up not staying there

Michael from front desk was awesome. He went above and beyond for us to make our stay very special. We will definitely recommend this hotel to our friends and family. This is definitely where we will be staying next time. We are in Austin. Also, this hotel has free on property parking.

Location was great. Counter person asked me for a credit card. Said it was declined. Gave him a buisness card next. Was declined he said. Two cards. I asked him if maybe the computer was not working or cc apparatus. He said it was my institution. I said it couldnt be. I gave him a third card and he said it was declined also. After a while he said my room Was covered just not the room security deposit. The key and room he gave us was occupied already. Finally a room was granted. Next morning i chked my card and it was charged 4 times the security deposit. The young lady said it would be refunded. She said the gentleman was from corporate helping out. He also told us check out was at 11 and when i questioned him about it being at noon, he said it was his mistake. Overall the stay was great.

Right when we walked into our room we saw cockroaches scurrying out of the light. There were also dead cockroaches in multiple roooms and ants all over the counters. The woman at the front desk was extremely rude and unhelpful.

Michael made our stay so enjoyable as well as the other front desk workers. The rooms were nice and clean and larger than expected. The breakfast also had a nice variety to it. Overall, will book again!!

I absolutely loved the kindness of the staff! The rooms were spacious with kitchen appliances, which was nice. Free breakfast and free parking were a plus. My only complaint is that rooms aren’t cleaned every day, and when they are cleaned, it is not done well.

The hotel canceled my reservation.

The hotel was overbooked and didn’t have a room for us . The front desk blamed Expedia that supposedly that morning called to cancel our reservation. After driving 5 hours with small children and before a 10 hour flight that was the least expected thing to happen. Terrible customer service. I will never book a Staybridge hotel again. I totally understand the overbooking but the lack of responsibility is not justified. Expedia never cancels any reservations if the customer never requests them to cancel.

All of the staff is amazing from the shuttle driver to the front desk everyone was welcoming great experience if i am ever in Austin this is my go to hotel

Great place to stay. Some little should be fixed in the room, but they weren’t a deal breaker or ruined the stay. Restaurants close by along with a movie theatre and not too far from Downtown and Airport.

Good: The staff were amazing, particularly a young man named Divine. Breakfast was delicious. Coffee was available all day. Not as good: Unfortunately the music from Ojos Locos was loud enough to be a nuisance well past midnight on Friday and Saturday nights (our room faced the main parking area and Buffalo Wild Wings and Los Ojos).

Area around hotel is less than desirable. Hotel room was musty and damp. Cockroach was found in the shower. There are lots of better areas to stay.

Nice staff. Very comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Quiet at night. Good variety offered at breakfast. Location is great, only about 10 minute drive to downtown Austin. Would stay here again.

The hotel is literally next door to Buffalo Wild Wings and walking distance to movie theater. Loved the location. Staff was wonderful.

The hotel & personal were both very nice. We had a 2 bedroom and the doors to the rooms, sliding doors made a lot of noise and I don't think the cleaning person that cleaned the room did not do a thorough job because there were item left in a drawer from the previous person and some trash item were left in the cabinets. Also I there is not enough lighting in the back parking lot.

Checked in a little early and everything was ready and staff was very accommodating. Room was nice and warm, 17 degrees outside, and of course, clean. We had a central location for goods and services with good highway access. Great place to stay.

They ran out of plates, had no forks, the water spout wasn’t working, the soda and juice machine wasn’t working, and it took them a while to refill the items (eggs, sausage, etc.). Liked that a staff person was always available and personable at the front desk, GF and non-dairy items offered, light foods w wine and beer in early evening.

We loved staying here! Michael, the manager at the front desk, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He was sincerely sweet and hospitable. The breakfast buffet was crazy good! The food was freshly cooked and plentiful. Our room was very quiet with a comfortable bed, well-equipped mini kitchen and nice big TV. We will be staying again!

Room was great and very comfortable. Elevators were pretty slow and not very clean. Breakfast was pretty scarce and had not been replenished.

Excellent hotel - especially with the "Social event" Drinks and food at 5:30. Excellent breakfast as well. Super comfortable bed. $75 for our 'Pooch' (Dog) seems a bit pricey, but no one forced us to stay there. The $7 to park in a parking lot is a bit sketchy - really? Paying to park there after spending that much money is questionable but again, no one forced us to stay there. Overall, the place is great.

The bed and pillows were absolutely a dream...the breakfast was wonderfully filling with a wide variety of staples and surprisingly delicious extras, and the staff were friendly & responsive when we reported our room phone had no dial tone. I would highly recommend this hotel!

Nice staff. Like social evening. Good breakfast. Clean and comfortable room. Refrigerator don’t work still I don’t needed but offer to repair immediately.
