Best Western Plus Prien Lake Hotel & Suites - Lake Charles

Indoor pool was not heated so the kids couldn’t use it which was the only reason we booked this hotel…

Breakfast was great. Could not get clean towels unless we called and asked. No maid service. Not enough towels for the guests. Pool was nice but still very cold.

It was a nice hotel, not quite what I was expecting from a best western plus. Room was nice and spacious. I wasn’t a fan of the bed. It needs to be posted that the indoor pool is not heated. So if you are looking to swim the pool is freezing! Breakfast was good with lots of options.

The property okay for a night. You must request room service, if not they do not replace towels, pick up trash, or anything. The indoor pool was so dirty! This was the reason for booking the hotel. Breakfast was not good, do not drink the coffee. Walls are thin so you hear people walking on top of you and outside the rooms. Also, had mold in the bathroom over shower. Plus had people outside asking for money.

It was easy to get to from the highway. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was good. Thr gym was tiny and we couldn't figue out how to program the exercycles. Overall, good value.

The rooms were very clean, breakfast was plentiful. The indoor was freezing and not really usable, which was a bummer since it's the main reason we booked this hotel. Room was not available at check-in but staff got us taken care of as quickly as they could.

The property itself was nice however the hotel is dim. The lighting was not bright at all and the hotel had this smell. Cannot pinpoint what it was but gave my entire family a headache. We booked here for the indoor pool due to weather was supposed to be bad this weekend however the pool is not heated and was colder inside the pool area than outside. That really upset me. Great breakfast and the staff that was over it was ontop of keeping things stocked.

Indoor pool

Great stay for 1 night. Not far from entertainment/casinos. Fair Breakfast options. I wanted to use the pool, but it seemed cloudy and maybe needed attention. I would still stay here again. Comfortable big room, clean and appreciate that it was furnished with fridge and microwave.

Ive been in 32 states and this was by far the worst.I would describe it as a hole in the wall.But even a hole in the wall could have been cleaner Where do I start.The bathroom was disgusting ,there was mold growing on the shower walls ,the sliding shower doors was spotted and mold ridden.The full breakfast that they call it was tasteless and cold .This was my one and done.

Decent stay. The internet is awful and it’s pretty loud with constructing or renovation…but the bed was very comfortable. The room was pretty big, bigger than I expected. Staff was nice, too All in all, we will stay here again.

Floor in our room was all wet from the AC and had a wet dawg smell

I checked into this hotel for 3 nights, with only 2 towels. The room wasnt serviced, no trash taken out, etc. When i called to the front desk for more towels the nexr afternoon, i was told that they had given out all the towels they could. I had to drive to a dollar store to buy a set of towels so i could shower. The first night i stepped in front of the curtains to draw them close, i stepped in wet carpet - the air conditioner was leaking. I called to report it - nothing came of it. This was such a subpar stay - i wont stay at this property again.

the people in the room next to us kept their tv on till 3:30am. Hard to sleep.

WE NEVER GOT CLEAN TOWELS, ROOM WAS NEVER CLEANED, TRASH WAS NEVER TAKEN OUT. NO HOUSEKEEPERS SPOKE ENGLISH. IT WAS A TERRIBLE Stay. Everytime I asked to speak to manager they had an excuse on where the manager was or would be in

It took 30 minutes to check in, only one person at desk after second one walked off with four people in line. Only one person for front desk and breakfast area on Sunday morning, so everything running out and no one available to refill.

Staff super friendly and professional. Bryan at the front desk very welcoming and friendly. Entire staff all the way down to housekeeping very professional and welcoming. This hotel staff is always pleasant no matter who is at the front desk. The young lady with beautiful makeup forgive me I forgot her name but she was so sweet! Oscar reassured my reservations and everything was set two weeks prior to my arrival. I’ve been staying here now for 8yrs I highly recommend this hidden jewel!

We left our IPad in our room, and the staff called us and held it until we could retrieve it.

My family and I checked in on a Friday night. The air conditioner was not working in the room. I called the front desk to ask the lady who check if someone could come and check the air. We waited 20 minutes, no one ever came. I called back to the front desk and the lady said she was checking people in and could come as soon as she had a break. We waited 2 hours for someone to come. No one came, I asked if we could switch to another room. She stated there were no other rooms available. I asked for a refund she said she couldn’t give a refund. She called her manager who refused to speak to me on the phone and said he wouldn’t be able to give a refund until the next day. The lady at the front desk said a room would be available the next day and they could move us or have someone look at the air. We stayed only because there weren’t any other available hotels in Lake Charles due to a large Volleyball Tournament, which we were also in town for. We were never moved to another room, no one ever called or came to fix the air the next day. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life! No one wants to travel and have to experience the things that we experience staying at Best Western. I finally got to speak to the manager 3 days after we checked out! He was rude, unapologetic, and offered a free upgrade on our next stay! I would NEVER stay at that hotel again! Save yourself the this trouble and hassle, choose a better hotel.

The hotel is nice and clean. The area is still recovering from the last hurricane, so the views are strained.

The smell in the hallway smelled like wet dog. Area was certainly not the best!

Nice place to stay. Property location was easy accessible to freeway and casino. Staff was very nice, hotel was clean and breakfast was very good!!

The property was nice. The front office gals were polite and friendly as well. about the only bad thing i could say is that the garbage collection from the city woke us up at 545 am picking up the dumpster (which is in no way the hotels fault). breakfast was nice and had plenty of choices

Great place to stay, but the free breakfast was limited. Could have been better with more food choices including fresh fruit.

Towels in room were well used. They were very thin and scratchy on the body…..these had to be the lowest quality bath towels for a hotel in this price range. Continental breakfast was the worst I ever had. Bagels were hard and broke when you tried to split them with a knife. Eggs were sub-par and tasted fake and I have no idea what the sausage patties were made from. Did not have eggs prepared to fit the biscuits (which fell apart when you bit into them) so that you could make a sausage, egg and cheese biscuit to have as a breakfast sandwich. I have stayed at hotels that provided this type of egg on the continental breakfast buffet. The whole experience was sadly disappointing. I cannot recommend this property nor will I be staying here in future visits.
