The grounds around the property were so lovely. Had nice walking paths that overlooked the Rotten Caulder River and small waterfalls. Serve tea in the castle every afternoon and you can choose in which public room you would like to be served. Mine was in the library. Breakfast was quite good.

Hotel was very nice. Also had a very nice jazz bar. Only down side was we thought we were staying in the castle so we were ok taking a cab outside of town for it. When we got there we were staying in a hotel next to the castle and the castle was closed due to a wedding. Wasn’t ideal and the listing should be more clear, but the hotel was very nice and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The new extension at Crossbasket is cozy and it is wonderful to explore the castle grounds. Be prepared that the hotel rates are not for staying in the castle itself but for the modern extension across the parking lot

The property inside and out was beautiful. We had a world class dinner and breakfast experience. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. I highly Recommend the gate lodge for a fantastic experience with hot rock spa, steamer, bathtub and additional shower all inside one bathroom. Best sleep I’ve had in a while.

This hotel is mainly a wedding and event space. There are only few rooms in the actual castle and they only serve afternoon tea there now, all other dining, bar and accommodations are in the nearby new modern building. I was quite disappointed by this as it was not clear when I booked. However the newer hotel building was actually really nice. The rooms and bathrooms were modern and well appointed. The staff were helpful and friendly. The place was really dead on a Tuesday but there was still live entertainment at the restaurant, which was nice.

Breakfast was great! The room was nice! We were just disappointed to realize the hotel was separate from the castle. Due to a wedding we weren’t able to really explore the castle. I think this property should really be called Crossbasket Castle Resort. They’ve done a nice job with the hotel.

Beautiful hotel with Stunning grounds. We stayed in a lodge & it was better than expected. The sauna & steam room within the lodge were a welcome surprise. One disappointment was that the Hot Tub was broken & we were planning on using it. We were offered another lodge but we had already unpacked & we’re just about to go out. A special mention to all the staff we met, who were great!

The hotel part of the campus is only 3months old and everyrhing is gleaming. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Our upgraded double room was large and very comfortable. We enjoyed walking around the grounds and taking a peek into the public room of the castle. The breakfast was also excellent.

I booked this hotel because I thought it would be fun to stay in a castle on our trip to Scotland. This is a castle in a convention center and hotel complex- not a quaint castle hotel. When I booked there was no mention of the hotel attached and so I assumed that we would be in the historic castle hotel. This was not the case. The hotel itself was nice, spacious and clean, but expensive and not at all cozy. We had a drink at the castle bar which was very nice. The restaurant was nice, but expensive and not anything special. I wish I had known what this place was all about, because I was disappointed. I wish I had researched it a little more.

My husband and I just spent a wonderful 2 nights here - the rooms are spotless and spacious. Beds/pillows very comfortable and all the amenities you could ask for. Hotel was quiet, staff attentive and helpful, breakfast outstanding. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone and just a shame it is not closer to us as we would stay time and time again!

So I really wanted to stay at a castle while in Scotland and this said it was a castle. What they don't tell you is that there is a hotel attached to the castle and unless your room specifically says castle it is not in the castle. Disappointment aside the hotel was lovley and clean, my biggest complaint was that the heated floors in the bathroom never shut off- and we searched high and low- for a switch. It is an unnecessary waste of energy to be heated all the time and quite honelsty was way too hot. The restaurant and staff were delightful, although we were charged a 10pound per person entertainment fee that was not mentioned until we received the check.

Wonderful! Brand new and so luxurious. Yet you could be casual and still feel welcome. Muddy shoes and all…just took them off so the carpet didn’t get wrecked. Tub in the room was fantastic and the bed super comfortable.

My husband and I just spent a wonderful 2 nights here - the rooms are spotless and spacious. Beds/pillows very comfortable and all the amenities you could ask for. A very nice hotel, 30 minutes drive from Glasgow Airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the new building that was opened in March. Excellent breakfast that is cooked to order.

What a beautiful place to stay. The castle and grounds are meticulously kept. It was a quiet, peaceful setting even with its proximity to Glasgow. The staff was so attentive and friendly. They were observant and helpful to all our needs-even making recommendations for later stops on our trip. The room was great: comfortable bed, amazing rainfall shower and stocked with everything we could need. Our only complaint: we couldn’t stay longer! (Our itinerary only afforded us time to spend one night) We will certainly come back and will recommend the castle to anyone traveling to this area of Scotland.

This by far was our favorite place to stay while we were in Scotland. Our room was huge, amazing property. It was my wife's birthday and they helped celebrate it at dinner. Yes, this place cost a pretty penny, but for one night we stayed in a castle and my wife felt like a queen. Such a beautiful location and property. Staff was extremely welcoming and accommodating.

The castle was beautiful and with a pleasant environment. The staff was very hospitable, friendly, and helpful. The dining and entertainment didn’t dining was a pleasant experience. The food was delicious and they had a large selection and variety. We loved the pre-drink cocktail option prior to being sat for sining.

I stayed overnight at CrossBasket Castle with my boyfriend as he received a generous voucher for the Michel Roux Jr tasting menu. The hotel and staff are absolutely brilliant and extremely knowledgeable and hospitable. The food is exquisite and it’s possibly one of the finest cheese boards we have ever had. Look forward to retuning one day.
