Luca Hotel by Heritage Residences Signature Collection

My wife and I stayed a week at Hotel Luca for our honeymoon. We chose it because we liked the idea of staying in a historic DR hotel, rather than just another American hotel that's been dropped into a different part of the world. Hotel Luca has done an excellent job of merging the old with the modern. The location is fantastic, just a block and a half off Conde St (the main drag in the district). Easy walking access to anywhere in the district. Breakfast (which was tasty, but not necessarily American) was cooked to order. It was taken under a covered outdoor patio, surrounded by greenery in the courtyard. You can see the age in the architecture, which adds to the charm of the place. It was a beautiful experience to begin each day. The hotel staff was amazingly kind and hospitable, particularly the two managers who speak fluent English. Their advice on the local area was both helpful and accurate. They made our stay better, for sure! The room was cute, and tended to daily. The bed was large and comfortable. Bathroom/shower were attractive and modern. The AC was powerful. The Jacuzzi wasn't heated when we were there, but considering the weather, it was actually nice to be able to cool off in. We would LOVE to stay here if we end up in The DR again! We had a wonderful experience at Hotel Luca!

Todo estupendo, pero si tienes ganas de tomarte una cerveza nada más llegar, hazlo en el bar que tienen en al cuarta planta. Si lo haces en el lobby te costará más del triple y en la terraza las vistas son bien bonitas .

Liked: In the heart of town right next to all attractions. Nice hotel with good breakfast. Disliked: Called the night before to ask about onsite parking and was told it was readily available. Also received message "...onsite parking is available and complimentary...". This is false. There is only street parking which is very difficult in the center of this old town. Additionally the entire hotel street was closed to cars during the day due to construction. Had to park far & walk 10-15 mins with luggage.

Room is really nice. There is no onsite parking like it says. Jacuzzi was broken when we were there. There is street parking and it’s first come first serve to the public.

Ein wirklich gutes 3* Hotel mit einem bezaubernden Innenhof, einer schönen Dachterrasse. Du kannst dir eine Yogamatte leihen und den Morgen begrüßen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Im Zimmer (auch in der Lobby) steht Kaffee bereit und im Kühlschrank findet man Softdrinks.Es gibt einen Wasserspender, der jederzeit zugänglich ist. Das Frühstück ist okay. Die Lager des Hotels ist super, um die Altstadt zu erkunden. Du gehst nur paar hundert Meter weit. Es ist eine ruhige Umgebung.

This is strictly street parking. Also currently the street in front of the property is under constructionso beware of this while trying to get to it. As always in DR staff was friendlt and attentive. The overnight staff was not resdily avail but understandable since it was late at night but door was locked. Overall I would stay again.

Really cute and cozy place. It was clean, comfy, and had such a nice vibe. My boyfriend and I actually came back to stay again because we loved it the first time. The rooftop and hammocks were our little getaway spots we spent so much time up there. It’s also in the perfect location, walking distance to all the good restaurants. The staff was super sweet too. The only downside was a slight musty smell in the room, but I think that’s just from the humidity this time of year. Still, we had a great stay!

Comfortable room. Good breakfasts given in the patio. On the other hand, both Rooftop areas were accessible, but the bar was closed, and the jacuzzi was too cold to be enjoyable.

The room was fine, but the property does not have parking. The on-site parking referred to is on street and not reserved. The parking is limited and the streets are narrow and busy. We had to park a few streets away and walk for about 5 mins to get back to the hotel. I would suggest not coming with a car.

Very comfortable beds and updated furnishings. It was quiet while we were there. I dont think they were at full capacity. The jacuzzi (not heated) and rooftop patio is nice. The rooftop bar was not open when we were there. Front desk staff were very helpful, gave good recommendations for dining and entertainment, of which there are many options within walking distance.

Santo Domingo en general nos dio una sensación de inseguridad, no nos sentimos cómodos cien por cien, en el hotel esa sensación mejoró mucho. Sin embargo, la habitación que era impresionante de aspecto olía muchísimo a humedad, tanto que al llegar nos costó dormirnos.

Quarto sujo, encontrei barata morta, acomodações razoaveis, não pude sair do quarto enquanto levaram 3 horas para trocar a maçaneta da porta, que estava estragada. Poderiam ter feito isso em um dia sem hóspedes.hospedes.

Great location. The room wasnt very clean, smelled moldy and had mold in the shower. Had no blackout drapes, was very hard to sleep with light right outside. Slow service at breakfast and did not have all the options listed. Kids were excited about the hot tub, however it was empty. Texted the concierge and never got a response. Hotels.com also promised complimentary bottle of wine at booking and there was none. Tv in the room is very limited cable box with spanish channels. respinse back

Previous stay was much better ! Great location. Bathroom had mould . We had to wait for coffee as there were no cups , cups arrived after we finished breakfast.

El lugar es muy lindo, la habitación y toda la decoración son muy lindas. Tiene buena ubicación justo en zona colonial. El único detalle es que en mi habitación había muchos moquitos y la pasé mal por ello, espero pongan atención a ese detalle, en todo lo demás tuve muy buena experiencia.

El lugar y la ubicación es excelente, sólo que había muchos mosquitos en la habitación h el jacuzzi no servía, basicamente que tuviera jacuzzi fue una motivación para reservar el hotel y no pude usarlo

Under construction. The water went out for almost a whole day. The room had a humid smell.

Staff provided excellent service. Washroom was nice, clean and functional with hot water. Bed was comfy. Location is safe. Will stay again in future trips to Santo Domingo.

Beautiful hotel in an old colonial building in the middle of the old city. Spotless and well appointed room overlooking an amazing central courtyard with tinkling fountains. Fantastic breakfast. Amazing staff. Free water dispenser for refilling bottles!!

I went to Santo Domingo for my father’s funeral. I made a reservation for four nights. I arrived at around 3 AM and only stayed there for a few hours and left the hotel at 8:30 AM. The person who received me at 3 AM was NOT kind. They didn’t even ask me to sit down while he was seated on a table -not the front desk- doing my check-in. I tried to pay. The person told me I would be charged in pesos, but I refused to pay in pesos ‘cause sometimes the charge is different. The night front desk person told me to speak to the morning staff and pay them. It was a good thing I wasn’t charged for the reservation that first night ‘cause went I went to the room, I found my “NOT NEgotiable”. The one, I would not tolerate in any hotel around the world: no hot water. The concept of the hotel is great. The pictures look great, but once I was in the room and really looked around the bedroom, the corners were dirty. The space behind the bed was dusty and at the top left corner, there was a spider-web. I could forgive a room that is not impeccable, but what I couldn’t forgive was the lack of hot water. I take good hot water showers, if a hotel has no hot water, sorry, ¡Goodbye! The very next morning at 8:30 AM I paid for that night and went to another hotel in the area. The morning staff was very respectful and kind. Perhaps mine was one case in a thousand cases, ‘cause I’ve heard good things about this hotel. Perhaps their boiler had issues that day. But hot water is my non-negotiable.

Rooms were lovely, very comfortable beds, modern bathrooms. the hotel was beautiful, staff exceptionally nice and helpful. Location in the colonial zone was fantastic, walked to everything. Would definitely stay there again when in Santo Domingo.

Assez catastrophique . Tres mauvais wifi dans la chambre. Pas de téléphone pour joindre la reception. Perit dejeuner pas avant 8h du matin quand vous avez des obligations . Television qui fonctionne pas. Je ne recommande pas cette hotel

Great location and nice courtyard. The room was super muggy. They’ve had a dehumidifier in last visit but this one they did not provide one. Staff was nice and breakfast was included.

Service was friendly however the rooms seem to be getting a bit outdated. The Wifi was extremely spotty and wasnt fixed until the last day. Soap dispenser in the room didnt work and was never fixed even though we brought it to the staffs attention and we didnt receive an iron even after asking for it a couple of times. Location is very convenient and provides access to all the historical landmarks within zona colonial

Las habitaciones son grandes, el baño está de muy buen tamaño y la presión del agua así como la temperatura se regula muy bien. El aire acondicionado funciona muy bien y no pasamos calor. Los dos comentarios para mejorar, son que en la habitación 12 se agradecería una cortina black out, también una luz central ya que solo hay luz indirecta. black out y la ubihabitdirecta ayudaría.

Everything was great !!!except no signal to watch television

The staff is very welcoming and very polite but there is no hot water for my early shower.

It was only one night but the accommodations were perfect and a good value. We had been staying in a 5 star resort in Samaná and this bed was more comfortable and showers were nice with good hot water. The location was also ideal.

The staff was wonderful, specially Ana, very kind, helpful and friendly. The property is beautiful and quiet, great place.

Como es posible que estando afuera de la propiedad por que estás haciendo tour, te estén llamando y localizando para querer cambiarte de habitación y que si iba a regresar antes de las 3pm, comentaron que la habitación que me dieron una noche antes no era correcta, yo no iba a llegar antes de las 3, cuando llegué con mi esposo al hotel aproximadamente a las 5pm, el personal me dijo que ya tenía otra habitación, abrieron la habitación sin mi consentimiento y agarraron mis pertenencias, eso no se hace viola totalmente la privacidad del huésped, que falta de respeto y ética por parte de este hotel.

Great location, even greater staff—friendly, responsive, attentive, and welcoming! Drinking water available 24/7 in hot, room temperature and cold temperatures. And breakfast cooked on site and to your order, all included in one reasonable price. If you are interested in seeing the colonial old town, this is the place to stay because it’s walking distance to just about any and all points of interest. The Light House is about the only POI that requires a short Uber ride. I’d definitely stay here again!

We went to SD as part of a longer trip throughout DR. The hotel is well located, with many options for food around. However we arrived very late in the night and everything was closed. The person at the hotel (Isabel) was so attentive, she prepared us some sandwiches for the night. All people working at the hotel are very helpful and friendly. The hotel has an amazing rooftop with hammocks, grill area with chairs and tables, where you can bring your food. It has everything you need to spend a couple of days in the urban life of colonial SD. Excellent breakfast

Staff is wonderful , all are very friendly . special Thank you for Anna , she is so helpful. the only downside is that they are re doing all the roads on the colonial zone which makes it hard to go around with the suitcase as the cars cannot get up close to door hotel. My room , I had no noise from the street work.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Luca Hotel . Johnny and all the staff at the Luca Hotel made our stay amazing . Breakfast was amazing and it was beautiful to stay in a residence built in the 1600.

We have stayed twice at the Luca Hotel. The staff was all very kind and helpful. The location is close to everything in the Zona Colonial but in a quiet location. I would definitely stay here again.

Simple and nice location. Construction in front of the hotel affect an easy access. Great breakfast. Comfortable bed.

Excellent location and everything in walking distance!

The hotel has vintage character with modern updates. It's in the heart of the Zona Colonial yet sufficiently removed from the noise. My bed was very comfortable and the water pressure and hot water were excellent which isn't always the case in Zona Colonial. The staff is lovely, courteous and always helpful. Special shout out to Joan and Ana as well as Andres in the evening. Breakfast was wonderful! The construction the city is doing impacted ease of getting to and out of the hotel but that's not theirs to control. Hopefully it'll soon be finished.

Beautiful colonial hotel right in the middle of the Colonial City, with walking distance to all major places to see and visit. Friendly staff, great breakfast. Unfortunately when we were there there was a party next door so it was very noisy but this was not the hotels fault plus I don’t think it happens all the time. The place is beautiful and clean so definitely recommend it, just be aware that parking is on the street so it might be limited

The place is spectacular for the price. There are better hotels in the Colonial Zone but they cost twice as much. This place is a gem thats super affordable. Located in a couple hundred year old building, there is a giant mango tree that dropped mangos daily. We ate 4 or 5 a day. No pool is the downside. Breakfast is free but super super basic. Well worth the price.
