Beautiful hotel in the heart of Old Montreal — wish that I could have stayed longer! The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. Had dinner at Perche, the rooftop patio and enjoyed great views, food and friendly bar staff. Will definitely come again 😊

Terrible that an hôtel this class charge you 30$ extras per person just to go in the pool for 10 mins. In fact when you already spent 200$ in a massage and 100$ in wine. Plus we needen tylenol and they sold them to us. Like a best western. Never coming back here.

William Gray was lovely and we stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Montreal and would highly recommend. I had a 1hour full body massage in the spa which was great and super relaxing in a professional environment. The room was spacious, housekeeping great and the adjoining bar lovely. All staff were very nice, although we did have $150 of parking charges added to our bill the second stay (and never got asked if we had a car!) but it was quickly rectified. The only negative was $55 per person was far too much for use of the pool (tax not included) although we did cave during the 30 degree heatwave. There was an alleyway next to the pool with people (staff?) smoking which detracted from it slightly. The pool was also empty during our 6 night stay and $55 per room might have enticed more people… we visited Strøm spa and their entire thermal circuit was the same price!

Great stay! The hotel was very clean with stylish décor, and both the rooms and common areas were perfect for relaxing and enjoying some downtime. The staff were super helpful and welcoming (especially Eddy at the Front Desk) Special shoutout to the concierge (Francesca) who gave us great restaurant recommendations and walking tips. Would highly recommend the Terrace for the best patio views of the city! Only thing to note: the in-room fridges are really wine coolers, so they don’t get very cold. Not ideal for personal use, and even the wine/champagne inside wasn’t chilled much. Aside from that, everything was excellent — would definitely stay again!

This property is way overpriced for what it is. First of all, staff were very unfriendly. I had questions about the stay and about the parking situation which is incredibly inconvenient, and they were evidently bothered/annoyed. Then, the room. We got the king with view. View was good, room was very industrial looking, plane, lacked any character and just looked unfinished. Desk and floor were also dusty. The restaurant (Terrace) - we went for drinks and some quick food before heading out for the night. My boyfriend ordered a burger and the burger came incredibly burnt - dry and the colour of charcoal. We politely advised the waiter that this was the case and he said “This is the way we cook burgers in Canada”. 1) We are from Ontario,Canada and this response was very inappropriate. 2) Who eats burnt burgers? Then when we did advise we are from Canada, he suggested that maybe “fast food” restaurant’s cook burgers differently. What!?!? As if we haven’t been to nice restaurants to get burgers.., and let me tell you, many other restaurants INCLUDING fast food restaurants are better than this place - both in terms of food quality and customer service. He did offer for the burger to be remade but we had a concert to catch and didn’t have the time to wait. He then proceeded to charge us for the burger even though my boyfriend took not even a full bite. Overall - this isn’t a good stay. Overrated. We didn’t stay more than one night as we decided to stay elsewhere.

This was my second stay at this hotel in less than one year. I love the location and the room. The shower is amazing. The restaurants are pretty good too. I really would have liked to rate it 5 stars; however, for a hotel of this caliber and cost, the customer service is lacking. It is inconsistent. Also, I shouldn't have to ask for the tiny bottle of lotion to be replenished, and I expect that the coffee cups in the room would be clean ones. When we decided to make coffee in the room, we realized that one of the cups was dirty. That was a really big turn off for me. I began to wonder what other corners were cut in the room (e.g., hopefully, the towels and sheets were changed between the previous guests and us. Overall, I really like this hotel. I just think there are are few things that need to be sorted out.

We had a great stay at the William Gray. Our room was modern and comfortable. We booked a deluxe room with balcony and it was a spacious with a desk and sofa. The shower was remodeled with a multifunction body spay. The restaurant Maggie Oakes was fantastic - excellent service and great value. We also loved the library bar with pool table. A few things to note: there is a cost to use the pool and there was no outlet in the bathroom of our room. Overall, we had a great stay and will come back.

Very nice room. Updated beautiful, marble washroom with shower and separate bath. Nice, big balcony with a view of the St-Lawrence river the Ferris wheel. Rooms were very quiet and sound proof. Staff were professional and helpful. I will stay there from now on when I visit Montreal!

We recently stayed at Hotel William Gray and overall had a good experience. The location is truly exceptional - you step right out into the heart of Old Montreal. The cobblestone streets, interesting shops, and great restaurants are all at your doorstep, making it an ideal spot for exploring this historic area. The hotel itself met our expectations in terms of cleanliness and comfort. The rooms were well-maintained and provided a nice place to relax after a day of sightseeing. We found the staff to be helpful and the amenities satisfactory. There was, however, one significant drawback to our stay. Our room was subject to loud music from a nearby club, which continued late into the night. This made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. What was particularly disappointing was that the hotel didn't inform us about this potential disturbance beforehand. We feel they should have been upfront about this issue to set clear expectations. Despite this noise problem, our stay at Hotel William Gray was generally positive. Its fantastic location and comfortable accommodations make it a solid choice . If you're planning to stay here, it might be worth asking about quieter room options to ensure you have the best possible experience.

There are not enough characters to describe how great our recent experience was. We had stayed previously, and it lived up to expectations a 2nd time. At the valet, they were slammed but took time to help each guest as quickly as possible. During check-in, we mentioned it was our 2nd time staying and came back to celebrate our anniversary. The front desk attendant paused for a second and said, "Well, in that case, I have just upgraded your room. This was not expected, nor necessary. This was followed by us cancelling our dinner reservations in exchange for an incredible 6-hour shift on the rooftop patio. Amazing Experience, we will be back.

Very nice hotel, great location with access to the best of Old Montreal. We had an issue at check-in: we arrived early and left our luggage with bellman. Hotel called when room was ready - except it wasn’t. We walked the neighborhood a bit to provide more time and when we came back, we were told we had not yet checked in (we had) and we now had a new room. Hotel was not sure where our luggage was. Luckily, it had been placed in our new room. A bit of unneeded drama, but once resolved a wonderful experience. Make reservations in advance for brunch/dinner/drinks on terrace atop the hotel. Great views and excellent food.

William Gray is a Nightmare Hotel with Rude Staff & Unreliable Facilities…The AC doesn’t work, hot water went out for hours while we were trying to get ready for a wedding, and we had to check out an entire day and night early because the hotel was unusable. The hotel said we could get a refund through Expedia if we checked out early, but when we called, Expedia said the hotel had denied it. There were also bugs in the rooms. The manager was beyond rude, dismissive, nasty, and gaslit us for “wanting a cool room,” blaming us instead of admitting the hotel’s failures. The hotel is clearly a money-making scheme; you even have to pay extra to use the pool. Even the rooftop, while offering nice views, had subpar, overpriced food with horrible service. This is the opposite of luxury or customer service. Spend your money somewhere that actually values its customers.

We had a fantastic stay at Hotel William Gray. If you want to stay in the heart of Old Montreal and be literally steps from everything, this is the place. Walkable, lots of nearby dining options, beautiful hotel with rooftop dining and lunch options (we did both) and helpful friendly staff. Our room could have been quieter (street noise- pretty bad when the garbage truck came every morning and dumped lots of trash). Super comfy room with the best shower I have ever experienced. Def 10/10 stars overall. Trying to think of a reason to come back from Atlanta to stay again.

Leoni and Otilia's concierge service was excellent. The manager treated us like respected guests, too. The one bummer was that even as hotel guests, we couldn't get a table at the roof terrace - I think we should have been told when reserving the room that we should also reserve the dining area on the roof. The terrace was a selling feature for our stay, so we were disappointed.
