The property has nice curb and face appeal and the lobby is nice and quaint. Plenty of parking and a few restaurants close by. The room was just fair-good. What spoiled it was that the carpet was very dirty. My socks turned black. Also the bed linens were rough and scratchy like either a polyester blend, fleece or bamboo. Not hotel quality cottons. Pillows were hard foam, not comfortable. Mattress just average. Bathroom had an odor. Shower was fair-average. The TV channel selection was excellent, as was picture quality. The breakfast was very mediocre. Terrible scrambled eggs and terrible coffee. Very few sweets or pastries. Sausage average, no bacon the day I stayed. I won’t return.

This is the third time we've stayed here. It's outdated, but always perfectly clean, with friendly staff. It's so nice to have extra beds, laundry, and breakfast. They have a really cool coffee/ hot chocolate machine that we loved!

While Crescent City is close to part of the Redwoods, and the restaurant options were good, the area as a whole is lacking. This hotel could have been great but my daughter immediately became ill upon arrival and my eyes became itchy and bloodshot. Searching for a reason I found the moldy blinds. Without shoes and socks, you could feel the sticky, humidity in the carpets. Brown blankets and blue sheets just added to the feeling of uncleanliness.

Our room was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed our stay. Oddly, there was no screen on the window so it could present a danger to people staying with children in the room (we were on the 2nd floor). There is no wifi connected to the tv so viewing choices were very limited.

This hotel was so pleasant to stay in, surpassed expectations. Clean, well-appointed, nicely designed, spacious comfy - and quiet - rooms. Plus a lovely ocean view. The one (big) disappointment - a subpar breakfast. That came as a surprise.

The facility was clean and well maintained, and the staff friendly. However the floors squeak and walls and ceilings are not sound deadened. People walking in the room above you will keep you awake even when walking lightly.

We have stayed at this location several times and always really like being there. The one thing that was a negative this trip was check in. There was an older man that was having lots of issues at the counter and while he was getting things figured out the lobby literally filled up with people waiting to check in.

Would not recommend. Service: Checked in on a Sunday night. We were hoping to modify our reservation to check out one day early. Ryan at the front desk indicated that while he technically could modify our reservation, we’d have to go through Expedia since we booked with them - sure, not a problem. I talk to an Expedia agent who says yep, we should be able to modify the reservation. They call the Oceanview Inn, speak with Ryan, who says nope, no can do. When I went back to the lobby (still on the night of check-in) to ask Ryan what happened, he became confrontational. The staff here are unwilling to help their guests or make even minor modifications to reservations, even for services that have not and will not be rendered. Location: Convenient location close to the beach, highway, and Redwood National Park. Other than the national park there is very little to do in Crescent City. Not many good restaurant options. Room: Antiquated. Hasn’t been updated in 25 years, uncomfortable bed. The upgraded room we reserved was quite large, however, the walls are thin and we could hear our neighbors all night. Also, the fog horn blows every 8 seconds. Walking to & from the room we noticed the hallways smell like strongly of urine.

Ocean View Inn was a great place to stay. The room was spacious, plenty of counter space around the sink for toiletries. The only minor issues we had was check-in (ringing the bell and none coming out for 10 minutes, apparently the clerk was otherwise occupied, but we were tired and needed to get to our room promptly), and the coffee machine (there is only one coffee machine, and lines were forming at breakfast since it needed to heat up water every 4 cups or so, which took time). I would definitely consider staying here again in the future.

Air conditioning was great, some lights in the room didn’t work. The room itself was nice, a lot of elderly people stay at the hotel we were like the youngest people there. The hotel check service was horrendous. Didn’t even greet us with a smile or hello we didn’t feel welcomed at all but we tried not to let it ruin our stay. The front desk staff need to be retrained on how to be welcoming and polite. Also someone should tell them to smile more.

We stayed 2 nights here and our room was very accessible and very quiet. Everyone on the staff always had a smile and were very helpful. The property has easy access to the marina, the beach and to downtown businesses. Will definitely stay here again.

This was an excellent location for visiting the Redwood Parks. A National Park Visitor center was located just blocks away which let us talk to a ranger and firm up our plans for the following day. The complimentary breakfast was fine. Nothing fancy but adequate.

The rooms and furnishings were definitely old but it was clean. Breakfast was good and fast. Staff was friendly and helpful. Crescent City is a little bit sketchy especially after dark but convenient to the Redwoods.Overall a decent, no frills place to stay!

Nice view, close to the beach. Across the street from an authentic Mexican restaurant, and a nice native artifact store. Be aware of the fog horn from the harbor every 10 second, making it difficult to go to sleep, but only on the first day.

The morning breakfast was "bottle-necked" by the coffee machine. It would have been helpful to have a thermos of regular coffee, a thermos of decaf and then everyone else could use the machine...which kept heating up because of the volume of drinks it was making.

Breakfast was poor. Advertised open until 10 am but staff stopped refilling at 9:00 am. Mostly depleted by 9:10. If a hotel advertises breakfast until 10 that is how long they should be refilling if customers are still coming. On a good note, room was quite large and nice.

Our room was spacious and clean. The mattress was amazing, and the toiletries were top-notch. Oceanview Inn's staff were quite helpful and welcoming. The view out our window was marvelous! I do want to correct something in their hotel's description -- they do NOT have a "continental" breakfast , but instead a full, hot meal that is complementary, including waffles, perfectly scrambled eggs, yummy sausage, fruit, yogurt, cereal, hot and cold beverages, etc.!

The hotel was clean and well kept. The murals on the lobby were fun! My kids love them. The beds were comfortable, not bad for hotel beds at all. The Free Breakfast was great! They had waffles, eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, bagels and breads. There is probably something I am missing. The staff who keep the breakfast stocked were always checking to make sure anything low was promptly refilled. The staff all seemed super nice and helpful. I definitely recommend this place to all especially families!
