Loved the hotel all around. - Our room was really big and reasonably priced. - The rooftop restaurant/bar was really nice for an afternoon drink then for brunch. - Great hotel gym! - Getting access to the Social Club lounge floor was a really nice plus. - Excellent service all around.

Staff were super accommodating. Wish the restaurants stayed open a little later. Close too early for a Hollywood Hotel

Hotel is very nice, and rooms are very spacious. The dining is the only black mark, as choices are VERY limited, and room service kept forgetting things. First they forgot to bring the coffee we asked for, and another order, they forgot the silver wear. Had to consistently call for coffee refill in the room, and insufficient condiments. Staff Very friendly and helpful. Valet very friendly, and VERY expensive.

Parking was expensive

Read the fine print on this one. After booking, I noticed that a "destination fee" would be charged by the property. Well, my receipt shows no "destination fee" but rather an "amenity fee" (which was also taxed, so another ~$40 on my bill. Also valet parking at this site with taxes came up to $72.60. I sure didn't see that listed anywhere when booking the hotel. All in all, a great place with a chill vibe, but I surely wasn't prepared for another $112 in charges on top of my pre-paid room reservation.

The Aster Hotel was a great place to stay, my room was very big and decorated with great style, the pool was heated and clean and the rooftop is amazing to relax and have some good food. I would go back for sure!

My wife and I had a short staycation for our anniversary. Let’s just say we loved the vibe of this place. Great design, very clean, great pool, fun rooftop lounge and restaurant, the list goes on. We stayed in a poolside king suite. The room was spacious, comfortable, clean, and just as stylish and thoughtfully designed as the rest of the hotel. The balcony overlooks the pool. Loved our stay. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends and family coming in from out of town.

Loved this boutique hotel and all of its eclectic decor and spaces! The rooms are gorgeous and well appointed as well! Enjoyed the coffee shop, dinner on the fifth floor and lunch at the Lemon Grove. Awesome view of the Hollywood sign from the rooftop. Beautiful pool area. Gym was state of the art! Will definitely stsy again next time we’re in LA!

Great hotel. Great restaurant

The Aster is an absolutely gorgeous urban oasis in the heart of Hollywood. The design team that created and curated the spaces are stellar and have infused the environment with a beautiful and serene unparalleled charm. I have stayed at hotels all over the world and The Aster is now my fave. With its adults only pool and many amenities included; Pilates studio, enormous weight room, gym studio. private lounges and access to members only events in their charming and private movie theatre, cabaret etc-makes it an exceptional deal. The stunning rooftop restaurant and bar along with all the uber friendly staff made this an unforgettable stay for my cousin and I, while we attended the Pulp concert at the nearby Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Thank you to the team at The Aster, you are all stars!

The room was spacious, gorgeously furnished, super clean, and comfortable. I understand other reviews about a slightly musty smell in the hallways, but it was gone by morning (maybe a humidity issue?). Staff is very friendly, and the rooftop bar is excellent. I appreciated the attention to detail in providing earplugs, as street noise can get a bit loud at night.

Pros: Good location- I felt like I was able to get to every place I needed easily, whether it was around the city or getting on the highway and driving further outside of LA Friendly Staff- Every staff member I interacted with was pleasant. Amenities- Though our schedules didn’t allow us to take advantage of the hotel amenities, I appreciate how many there were. Cons: Staff communication- Simple information like WiFi or how to access housekeeping and front desk was not communicated (not on phone). Staff responsiveness- I asked for extra towels and never got them. I had to remind the front desk. I ended up getting them the next day. Linens- Multiple towels were frayed or ripping at the edges Smell- Room had a slightly old musty smell

Got into my room and the toilet seat was broken. The room felt half cleaned. No tip sheet on the bed. Housekeeping knocked on my door at 12:30 am startled me. They came back a second time delivering toothpaste for another guest. The upper floor was super load. Ear plugs are provided. Destination fee on top of all taxes and room stay charges was Pennie’s short of 80 dollars. Parking is a whopping $ 55 a night. Pretty Cool spot but not quite as cool as they think they are.

Hotel is generally good for its location and room size - had issues with roaches, some issues with food and service and gym A/C either wasn't working or they turned on the heater.

The noise from the rooftop bar was horrendous! When I complained about it, as I left (because of the noise), the man in reception acted surprised and feigned confusion for a moment. He was ultimately very nice, but I cannot possibly relieve I am the inky person to complain of a nightclub level of pounding music right outside my window. And they leave ear plugs by the bed. As soon as I saw them I should have suspected the property had a serious noise problem. Also on one day of my 3 day stay my room wasn’t serviced. Add to that how hard it was to get someone to answer the phone for room service. One morning it took 20minutes to get an answer so I could order breakfast. The room was clean and spacious but not much use of filled with pounding music.

We stayed a couple nights to attend a concert. Proximity to the Hollywood bowl is excellent. Hotel is nice, had a gym and a small, nicely laid out pool. Hotel room could have been a tad cleaner, but that is me being picky (specifically the hardwood in the suite) had a spill and was very dirty, but had I have not spilled I would not have noticed. Comfortable bed. Great location - smack in the mix in Hollywood. It’s a busy area with a large homeless population, which is to be expected. Felt completely safe walking around though. Food in the bar and breakfast was good, not excellent. Didn’t have a chance to eat dinner at the restaurant so can’t speak to that. Would stay again.

Comfortable hotel with a nice vibe, but there were a few things that missed on expectations for a 5-star hotel rated so highly on hotels.com. Staff at check-in was overly forward, preemptively trying to upsell us on a room because we would have noise issues and making fun of a guest's name. Our shower was backed up when we checked in. I called to have it fixed, and I think they sent someone but it was not fixed by the time we checked out. We had to take short showers in a couple inches of water. No accommodations for this gross issue; just a "sorry that happened" while we checked out. There was noise from the venue next door but I saw that in the reviews when booking. If that bothers you book a courtyard room.

The moment we walked into our room, we had a level of stress melt away. It was gorgeous, extremely clean (which is SO nice to see these days) and very comfortable. We were sad to only be staying one night, because it was likely one of, if not THE best room we have ever stayed in. The staff, from the front desk, to the 5th floor bar area was outstanding. we will definitely be back to The Aster. We have already forwarded the website and details to several friends, who would likely be traveling to LA in the next year. Thank you for making our stay, though short...perfect!! Immaculate cleanliness, beautiful suite, professional and positive staff!

I like to the location of the property and the rooftop restaurant , but the property needs work. The hotel room had many issues the. Patio door was very difficult to open. It was stuck in the shower. Drain was clogged. The heater did not work well at all the front door and moves back-and-forth especially when other people close the doors the doors move in the middle of the night. Room service got our order wrong both times.

The room was really nice, very roomy, and well decorated. The location was also excellent because we went to the Pantages which is really close. Three things that could be improved are 1) we were in a room near the street so it was a bit noisy throughout the night, 2) there is no name on the hotel and the address is incredibly small especially when you are driving by - it would be much better if the name were on the hotel in big letters and the address were on the hotel with big numbers, and 3) the parking cost was very high - we paid $60 for one night of parking.

The Aster is an island of tranquility in what can be a loud and unnerving area - the intersection of Hollywood and Vine. The hotel is intimate and comfortable, a nice change from the cold sterile feel of many "high-end" properties. Our room was huge and very comfortable. The staff responded to our various requests immediately and pleasantly. We highly recommend the Aster to anyone wanting to stay in or near Hollywood.

I loved the style and spaciousness of the hotel and my room with a balcony. I was only in town a couple of nights for a concert but was extremely comfortable which was nice after being tired and needing a good nights sleep. They were very accommodating for adding an extra day since I had a red eye flight and it was nice to be able to just relax until time for my cross country flight

It’s an older property that was recently renovate and very nicely done. The fixtures and details have so much character & charm yet all the top notch amenities a 5-star hotel is expected to have. The room is HUGE…620 sq. ft. with separate sitting & dining areas, a very spacious bathroom, and the most comfortable king size bed. They upgraded our room to a poolside unit which was very much appreciated. There’s also a balcony with a seating area accessible from the room. We will definitely be coming back to The Aster on our next stay in the L.A. area.

The rooms are much larger than comparable hotels. The designers thought of every detail to make the spaces comfortable and aesthetically pleasing. I was definitely satisfied with the professional, friendly and cordial staff.

The Aster is a really cool spot, the decor is chic and the rooms are spacious. There are two bars and restaurants in the hotel, one on the roof, and the food and drink were very good. I would have given the Aster 5 stars if it wasn’t for the noise from the bar that starts on Thursday night.

i loved everything about The Aster. The only negative was the front desk staff. I am not sure why there is a need to be unfriendly, snobby, etc. Your job is to be hospitable. I would not stay again based on that. Overall, the restaurant was amazing. The valet were kind and helpful. It is walkable to many venues. I love the dark/moody vibes and decor.

Top Tier! This hotel was amazing and from all angles. Delightful check in experience with an upgraded room, packages already waiting for me in my room. The staff were on point! They exceeded my expectations in every possible way, every single staff, from front desk, bellman, housekeeping! They were polite, timely and just awesome all around. I was really pleased and delighted with this stay.

I am trying to reach the customer service of the hotel property but it is hard to reach them,not a lot of staff are available especially in the restaurant only one person,if you are trying to reach them you can’t contact them it’s terrible customer service, especially your Agent booking system of Expedia is very bad customer service, they can’t help me to resolve my problem, the issue was such as when you need their assistance, they will put you in transferring to a different person who doesn’t even know how to comfort you,I booked a flight and a hotel to Expedia, I just paid an insurance for both flights and Stay, I just thought that they will help you when something is happened with your flight such as My situation was that I had missed my Flight a minute ago and this Airline that I booked is Frontier Airlines who has a bad customer service too, I was already there asking for help but instead of helping me is telling me something that I really don’t know how to do it, it’s because I’m explaining to them that it’s our first time to do this flight going to LA.coming from San Francisco coz’ normally we’re always driving going to LA.so we really don’t know how to check in or Sign in from the Apps in our phone, instead of helping us he just staring at us, it’s so weird, it’s ridiculous how an agent is helpless to a customer, I just got ripped off by your Company Expedia I paid $379.17 for one night and when I get to the hotel they charged me again for $200 it was a bad experienc

Made sure the Tesla was charged up, and very quick to bring in our luggage. Dinner that night at the rooftop restaurant was outstanding! Service was great too. Unfortunately, the following evening, when we returned to our room after A full day of adventuring in LA, our room was not cleaned. The room service breakfast dishes were still there, in spite of the fact that we left a "service please" hanger on our door. Had to call the front desk, who informed us the cleaning crew left at 3 o'clock, and it was too bad. No offer of sending up new towels or clean wine glasses. No restock of the mini bar. Next morning we ordered room service breakfast, which is a rare treat for me, and I really look forward to it. I ordered avocado toast, and asked them To please add a fried egg on top. Breakfast arrived cold, and they forgot the avocado on the avocado toast! No cream for my husband's coffee, no spoon for my tea, no salt or pepper. Called the front desk, and eventually someone showed up with another soggy piece of toast smeared with cold avocado. For $100 I would've expected more. Even Denny's can handle a simple breakfast order. No spare roll of toilet paper, so we had to ration what was left. The good news is, hotel is centrally located to lots of fun things to go see and do. I'd give it another try some day.. hopefully it improves!

What a find!! The Aster is pure class from the moment you walk in. Its calming decor and soft scents make for a truly relaxing oasis in the madness of Hollywood. About a 15 minute walk away from TCL Chinese theatre you’re away from the real hustle and bustle but still in easy proximity. I was here for work and it was so conveniently located for travelling out to Burbank, over to West Hollywood and downtown as well as being close to all major studios based in Hollywood. The staff are so friendly and can’t do enough for you. The room was beautiful and surprisingly spacious. The restaurant on the roof was full of great flavours and a wonderful ambience. There was some redecorating while I was here and it’s looking amazing. I will definitely be looking to come back on my next trip to LA.

The Aster was really nice. The staff was accommodating. We were graciously upgraded to a suite, so the room was very large. My only complaint is random touches like the stained lampshades. It was just very odd and something I hope they fix to maintain the ambiance. The room was very clean and the bathroom spotless. The location is ok depending on what you want to do. If you are going to events or attractions in Hollywood, it’s great. It’s not too far from downtown but it is a drive and you will hit some traffic. Parking rate was high but we didn’t park a car. Getting an uber from here was easy and so was walking to restaurants. The hotel restaurant and bar was lovely. The local bars in walking distance were young, so we had to venture further for something more aged appropriate. I would stay here again if it wasn’t for the location.

We chose this location based on reviews and the proximity to the Pantages Theatre. (It was a 3 min walk!) We had a great stay! It’s a stunning property and the room and the service was exceptional. We will definitely be back!

Incredible hotel in a classically dingy part of LA. Would highly recommend for urban travelers who understand the character of the area.

Great hotel if you are catching a show at the Pantages Theater. It’s walking distance and safe. The staff is great!

Great property, first class amenities. Inwould definitely stay again. Location is in a bit of "seedy" part of Hollywood, but I think you have to take the good with the bad. Be sure to checkout the rooftop bar. Great views and good cocktails!

Great hotel filled with friendly people. I want to ensure that Chris and Faith at the front desk get recognition. They both are so precessional and personable. A true asset to the hotel. I ate at the restaurant by the pool and it may have been the best cheeseburger I’ve ever had. I will definitely be back!

Loved the hotel. Absolutely gorgeous interiors. We had a Superior Suite, 1 King Bed (Pool Club Suite), which was spacious and an absolutely wonderful space in which to spend our night. We were celebrating our anniversary enjoying two things we love: a beautiful hotel room and room service. The food was outstanding and the service was lightning fast.
