The room and bathroom were gorgeous. It was perfectly situated from Victoria station. And perfect for the Arndale Shopping centre,the Corn Exchange for food, and the Arena. Will definitely use again. Bar was beautiful too and bar prices werent overly bad for a city centre hotel. Loved the decor. Have downloaded the Motel One app to book others. Very impressed.

Great location and rooms. Good service. Only negatives were: Paper cups in room for hot drinks/water - would much prefer cups and glasses; Bar prices very expensive - London prices. Therefore, only had one drink and went into the city.

A good modern centrally located hotel, very comfortable bed and good buffet breakfast. The rooms are quite small but well appointed. The staff are friendly and helpful. Ideal for attending the AO Arena and shopping. The recommended car park is a short walk away and reasonably priced for 24hr parking. To be recommended.

When walking in to the hotel, I got exactly as I expected from the website images. When I walked in to the room I got a totally different experience. A tiny room that didn't match the expectations from the reception area! The room its self had a really bad smell of cigarette smoke, I assumed it was just from outside with it being illegal to smoke indoors since 2007! It was only when I went to close the curtains when I got back in on the first evening that I found a half smoked cigarette sat there behind the curtain on the window ledge. I was have thought this would have been spotted and cleared by the cleaner on the room change over. Apart from the room stinking of cigarettes and the initial shock at the size of the room. The hotel is in a good place for the shops, bars and the AO arena and was just what I needed. On the first night I sat in the lounge and did some work. The lounge is a nice and relaxed environment with very friendly staff.

Overall happy with our stay, with competitive pricing given the location. Service was nice and it was good to be able to drop off our bags before checking in. Bedding was comfortable, but nothing to write home about. The bed was big though. As you’d expect, rooms were quite small which is ok but I did expect slightly more space - it was good enough to just sleep in though. The room was clean, except for the surprise toilet brush we found in the toilet upon entry and the clogged up sink.

The hotel was clean, very warm at all times and staff were pleasant. The provision of one chair for a double room is a little odd, the view from the window was poor as all we could see was the back of local buildings and the lack of blinds etc meant a distinct lack of privacy given one of the buildings was an office block and meeting rooms looked across at us. Fully accept we can’t all have a great view from the room and we did get a 7th floor room so it was quiet but we were on the side not the front which is the view that is clearly shown on the advert. The price is good so it works for one night.

Excellent location for the city centre. Compact room but enough room for what was needed. Was some dust on the floor and my bag was dusty when i picked it off the floor but otherwise very clean. Friendly staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Nice staff, but just a tired hotel and room, poor quality toiletries, no shampoo/conditioner, weak water pressure in the shower, I found a bug crawling over my bed sheets. Breakfast was ok and nice towels.

Not as a "wow" factor as the previous times. Room was much smaller (always book the same type), the kettle had to be moved on the floor (nearest socket available). Very noisy and lots of slamming doors. Unfortunately the room and toilet were not as clean as I would have liked. This is my 3rd time staying at Motel One Royal Exchange and never had any of the above issues before.Hopefully that is just a fluke.

The hotel is in a good area, what let it down was the room, nowhere to put your clothes a rail on the wall for hanging your clothes on. There was no drawers or anywhere to sit and put make up on, shower was rubbish.

The bed was comfy. This is a place for a one night stay. There’s nowhere to put clothes away. Having to haul a large suitcase onto the bed every time you want something is annoying. The hand soap and bath gel dispensers were both broken. There’s no shelf in the shower to put your own products. There’s no night light in the bathroom. The sink doesn’t have a plug. The air conditioning wasn’t working, but we complained and it seemed a bit better the second night. There’s no phone in the room to call the front desk.

Staff were welcoming, although reception was very busy and very slow and not very attentive on arrival, our arrival had been delayed and we were in a rush, the queue was almost out the door and it felt like staff were just hovering. Room was ok, a little small for two people to walk around and get ready, and the mirror placement drove us mad as I had to keep bumping into my partner whilst she was getting ready.. bed was fantastic, bathroom was clean but not the best shower pressure and the toilet was positioned very high off the floor which felt odd.

Hotel is very nice and the room is perfect for couples. Nice bed, nice lighting and has everything you need. Only thing I’ll mention is that the water pressure in the shower is very bad. Full power and the water was just dripping out slowly

Really comfortable room. Great breakfast. Lots of variety. Breakfast staff - Abigail and her colleague (didn’t catch her name) were really helpful and friendly. Very cheery and lovely meet and greet in the morning😊. Great staff. One of the receptionists also came outside with us to give us directions - again really helpful. Will definitely stay again when in Manchester.

Room was ok, very different to the pictures online. European lady on reception was extremely unhelpful, called for assistance as all the roads were closed to gain access (travelled from London) advised she cannot help and can provide the postcode, something I already had then proceeded to ask if I would like to pay £25 parking for the night knowing I cannot reach the hotel.

Massive amount of people waiting to check in. Once allowed to check in the queuing system was horrendous and with a lack or organisation. Once in the room it was okay. However after getting back to the hotel later we went upstairs and our key wasn’t working. Therefore I had to go back downstairs and wait in a queue of people with the same issue. The staff member then came upstairs to check it worked and it still didn’t therefore they had to use a master key which wasn’t ideal.

The hotel location was perfect. Have a nice bar area with tables to grab a drink. However, bartenders are not friendly. First night in the hotel I want to grab a drink, the make bartender didn't acknowledged me and went to help another guest. Then, female bartender seemed very sick with a cold so she wasn't happy to be there obviously. Not once they smiled ir greeted me.

I stayed at Motel One whilst my husband had surgery at Salford Royal Hospital The staff wrte understanding and helpful and the breakfasts wrre excellent My husband has a check up in 3 months time and we are regular visitors to Manchester We always stay at Motel One and will continue to do so Highly recommended.

Hotel was perfectly located in the city centre and close to all the attractions. The hotel is modern and well designed with staff friendly and professional. Our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and bathroom was modern with nice shower We were in Manchester to go to the Co-op arena, there are good transport links from the hotel and it was a 40 min walk after the concert

Lovely hotel with a nice bar area! Amazing location in central Manchester, I have stayed a lot of times in Manchester and this by far is the best location. Free bus available from Piccadilly station, 2 minute walk to coffee places & shops. Easy uber ride to elsewhere in the city and also tram network. Would highly recommend!

Had a really good experience, staying at this hotel, the staff went out of their way to let us check in early, the hotel has lovely decor, the room was a good size, with comfy beds, nice bathroom. breakfast is just a continental, but had plenty of choice. Will definitely stay here again!

Cheap, dirty motel with deceptive business practices. We were charged £13.50 each for a lousy breakfast that was heavily implied to be free (given the free flow of people in and out, no employees in sight), otherwise we would have avoided. Not to mention, nowhere in the area is there a sign that indicates it’s not complementary? And only 15 min after we had sat down and eaten did a rude man come up and demand we pay for the breakfast. The whole thing really left a bad taste and guaranteed we’ll avoid this scummy place in the future.
